minorty13 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 This is the song I'm going to request at my show It means the world to me!
_Iris_ Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 so far i've listened to this song everytime i came back from a gd concert and was sitting in the train its always the last song i listen to before i get off the train at home. i usually sleep at someone's after a concert and we have a great time looking at photos we did and this song is for me like good riddance at a concert. it's like "it's all over. you're back home and you had a great time. but its good to be back home and just go to bed and sleep xD"
whatsername..x Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I love 'Homecoming'', it's such an awesome song! In the crowd of pain. St. Jimmy comes without any shame He says “we're fucked up” But we're not the same And mom and dad are the ones you can blame
Smoothed Out Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Omg I love St Jimmy Died, it's so sad yet ties the story of the album up, Mike and Tre's sections are great I love them In fact, screw it, I love the whole damn ten minutes
st.idiot Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 this song is just so powerfull and mind blowing-its deffinitley one of the best songs
anya. Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 oh, i love the song.. at first, i didn't like the song much, but when i listened to it a couple times it grew to my heart. mike's part is awesome;)
Undómiel Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I love this song so much. My favourite part is Rock and Roll Girlfriend I always have to turn my iPod up to full volume at that bit. Gotta love Tre.
Savannah Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 God I love this song. It just shows how good musically GD is.
Hermione Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 What can I say, I love everything about this song . Epic, theatrical, quirky, beautiful....it has it all. It's a frenzied climax to the story and it takes my breath away. My favourite from American Idiot and one of my favourite songs ever.
Jessayy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Amazing song. The different sections are so different, but they all blend together perfectly. I use this and JOS and workout songs because they are good time estimators
Schlappy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 this song is amazing! i like mikes part personally. its just funny cause i always think of him just sitting alone in the studio... drinking coffee. poor guy Amazing song. The different sections are so different, but they all blend together perfectly. I use this and JOS and workout songs because they are good time estimators i totally do that too... weird
spark in the night Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 EAST 12th STREET oh yeah and it's where I got my username from too
Punk-tastic32 Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Amazing song. The different sections are so different, but they all blend together perfectly. I use this and JOS and workout songs because they are good time estimators I do that too. I've labeled the parts of Homecoming to distance markers when I run. It is surprisingly accurate. I guess I'll have to try JOS next. this song is amazing! i like mikes part personally. its just funny cause i always think of him just sitting alone in the studio... drinking coffee. poor guy i totally do that too... weird I can totally picture that too. Like, Billie and Tre skipped recording/jamming to throw bread at ducks without Mike.
Supermodel*Robot Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Crazy. I had a huge craving for this song this morning. And here it is, song of the week. I've always adored this song, especially the way it starts all gritty. I just wish they had cut out some of the "home, we're coming home again" near the end. It drags out a very fluid and exciting song.
Happy Emo Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Literally just been listening to this song this morning lol. It's genius
theeulogy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I love the song from the first till the last second It's amazing!
cherylr Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Still on cloud 9 from seeing them in Camden Tuesday, but I've caught up on my sleep. This song came on my iPod during my morning run this morning. Normally not what I'd listen to on a run, but I did today. Billie Joe's voice is beautiful in the beginning. "Please call me only if you're coming home" makes me want to belt it out with him...
that_weird_kid Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Great song! one of their best...and longest ..but i was just wondering......what inspired this song?
Christina. Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 The Death of St. Jimmy is probably my favourite part of Homecoming. It really makes the song for me. "He says “we're fucked up” but we're not the same" ajdklsfjdkh. I can't even say how that line makes me feel.
that_weird_kid Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Absolutely amazing song! i was awlways wondering..who inspired..or..what..inspired this song? Oh, and does anyone know if Green Day are ever going to come back to Perth, Australia?
Mrs. Nobody Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I love this song so so much I've always liked Mike's part, and I really related to the lyrics when I first heard it
Marki. Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 This song is epic and amazing and I love it, don't now what else to say =) I always wait for This life like dream ain't for me I love love love this part. And the end: I started fuckin' running as soon as my feet touched the ground....Home, we're coming home again... :') And it was the song that set American Idiot in motion. Thank you Mike Oh yes. I love Mike's parts <3 (and I just used the word love like 10 times xD)
