Dry_Ice Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Is it legal to sell that stuff Actually it's really legal. She bought the tshit clamming her ownership. Plus when I was younger my mom used take towels and turn them into children's jackets. It sounds like a horrible idea but they were awesome. When I met The Chicago Bulls when I was younger I was wearing my Bulls jacket... and the players loved it. They wanted to sign it but couldn't for some reason - their manger stopped them. No clue to this day why. what is an Esty shop? I swear to God I've seen your shirts on Esty before.. that's why I asked for a link.. so ah yeah
dawn71 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 The only one I'd ever wear/buy would be the first one. As David said, the rest look really cheesy. But link me please? If you click on the link he posted you would see that he picked the 4th one not the 1st one like you did. But that's ok not everyone has the same taste and thats cool. I am working hard at creating new designs. I am sure there will be some that people don't like and some that people love. Also I'm always open to new ideas so if you have any suggestions that would make them better please tell me. Constructive criticism is good. It helps me strive to do better. I swear to God I've seen your shirts on Esty before.. that's why I asked for a link.. so ah yeah No I have never been on Esty before, I didn't even know what Esty was until lizziebix told me a few posts ago. I have sold a few on Ebay before though. I got the idea to make these shirts from someone I know that makes custom shirts and me being a huge GD fan I decided to give it a try using GD t-shirts. I have made around 30 so far and before I went any further I wanted to get some opinions. Thats cool that your mom did that. I am trying my best to find a new line of work because last year I was medically retired from the Army because of an IED explosion that caused me to be wheelchair bound, I am hoping that I'll be able to open my own shop doing these custom shirts and other things like it.
Nimrod99 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Ok, I have a really strange request for you. I want my horse to have something very original in terms of the pattern on the fabric. It needs to be lycra or spandex (it has to have a lot of stretch to it). I would LOVE for her to have a green day themed sleezy (that's what it is called; it's like a hoodie for a horse kind of). If I were to send you one of the sleezies I have, do you think that you could make her a customized Green Day sleezy? I have NEVER seen one made for a horse, and I highly doubt that any even exist. I would also like to get a matching tailbag to go with it (which I would also send you one of the ones that I have). Sleezies and tailbags are pretty easy to make, but the problem is finding the fabric to make it with (and the fabric can be a little pricey). Please let me know if you can do this, and how much you would charge me for it.
Punk-tastic32 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 My fav is the hoodie/sweater, minus the ribbon on the back. Think you can do it with other t-shirt designs/pictures as well? The other stuff I'm neither here nor there about. But I think that you will do well with your own shop. Please link when you can!

eastbayweirdo Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I love these! Could I buy one from you if you're going to the Dallas show? I'm going too.
dawn71 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 I love these! Could I buy one from you if you're going to the Dallas show? I'm going too. Sure no problem. I am bringing some with me to the concert. I am going to bring several styles and sizes. I will be easy to spot at the concert I'll be the one in the wheelchair and my wheelchair has lots of GD stickers on the back of it. I plan on getting there very early.
Fuzz Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 The designs are pretty badass. My girlish figure wouldn't look great in one, but I do like the originality of it.
dawn71 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 The designs are pretty badass. My girlish figure wouldn't look great in one, but I do like the originality of it. thank you. I try to be original but in all honesty I got the idea to start doing this from someone I know that makes custom shirts of all kinds. I also get some of my inspirations from other things I see. I just started doing this about 3 months ago and it is a learning process for sure.
Moffie Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I'm loving all of these. They're not cheesy to me. I love the styles of the shirts! Do you have a link to them? I scrolled through and one didn't catch my eye.
Eighty. Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 all of those look amazing!!!! I have this t-shit My mum was trying to make it smaller and now you gave me a really good ideaa!

I scrolled through and one didn't catch my eye. no not yet I just started making these 3 months ago and trying to build inventory to open a shop. with in the next 2 months I should have enough to open a shop and an online shop also. message me if you want to talk more about it,i may be able to make you one
blitzkriegdeb Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 These are pretty cool, but they aren't something I'd wear. However, you must have the patience of a saint to make them, and I applaud the outgoing, different designs of each. Good job. Edit: Actually going back and looking at them I love the International Superhits! style halter.
Mrs. Nobody Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Oh wow, I absolutely love the halter necks. I'm probably not the only who doesn't like bandshirts (purely because i'm really self-concious/stupid and doesn't want to wear unflattering t-shirts) so these are such great ideas and designs edit: and btw, how the heck can a t-shirt be cheesy? aha i don't get it
Comedy & Tragedy Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 It could be just a matter of opinion, but I think these all look amazing! This one and this one are my favourites. I say, keep experimenting to find new styles, because you definitely have some talent at this. A store would be great.
Charlotte2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I like the first one As for the rest, I'm a pretty plain dresser so I probably wouldn't wear them. Jeans and hoodies are pretty much all I wear.
Take me to Christie Road Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Love them! Especially the first two. Are you going to do an Etsy page or an Ebay page?
just_like_jen Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 wow these are awesome. If you do set up a shop let me know cos I'd definitely like to buy at least one of these x
caltrask Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I think they're great and very creative, I hope you do open your own shop. The halters look like they're the best shape--though I'm not a halter-wearer, but you also used great shots of the band. Very cool, good luck to you. It would be great to see a stand of your designs at a GD concert in the future!
dawn71 Posted July 30, 2010 Author Posted July 30, 2010 How did you make the halter tank top one? I take the original t-shirt and cut off parts I don't need without cutting into the picture on the shirt. I use the extra material I cut off to make the other parts. Sometimes I have to buy material to make certain parts for certain looks but I do my best to use all parts of the shirt and not waste material. If I have left over material I use it on other shirts. It takes a good sewing machine and a lot of patience because some materials are so delicate and detailed I have to sew by hand.
colour_me_stupid_ Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I LOVE the back of the hoodie, the third picture
