Micky Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Does anyone have the Rob Cavallo produced version that was supposed to go on Dookie? I've always wanted to hear it. I second all of this. If anyone has that version: I'd love to hear it too. Thanks in advance. I hope it's the one you're looking for http://www.sendspace.com/file/1gg7wt
Moffie Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Did anyone watch the video? For some reason, it makes me laugh. But I love the song. It's good, old-fashioned Green Day.

Moffie Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 The "snap" part makes me laugh! And the horse stomp, clap thing is so funny, as well. Great, Billie Joe. "SNAP!" *continues to snap with both hands enthusiastically but people obviously aren't getting it*
1039slappygirl Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I remember searching for "malakite"'s meaning the first time I read the lyrics of this song ('cause otherwise, I would never have known that word was in the song). I used to think it was something pervy, don't ask me why I laughed out loud when I figured out it's actual meaning... I've never seen a malakite, but anyways, I love this song
iloveyouisntenough Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Abolutley love this song! It deffinitely deserved to be song of the week! It is one of my favorites I think

Just Kate Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 omg omg omg this should be a song of the year!!! massive love for this one
armatage Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 It's not too much of my favorite one but I like the song and never skip it when it comes on. It just warms my heart sometimes when I think how in love was Billie. EDIT: And still is!
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Pure, simple, exquisite awesomeness and one of my favorite love songs. Such a beautiful, passionate, and potent way to describe that feeling you get when you meet somebody and WHAM realize that "wow, he/she really is the right one for me." No matter what you do, you can't get them out of your mind, and whatever physical distance there is between you is nothing. You can be 2,000 miles apart and still laugh together, knowing that "your other half" is thinking the same way about you too. This song always reminds me of me and my wife's first date.

armatage Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 you skip Green Day songs ?? Yep. It's not a crime not to be in an exact mood for a song, is it?
Just Kate Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 always when i hear 'we laugh together' i have this picture on my mind Yep. It's not a crime not to be in an exact mood for a song, is it? well, i never do that... maybe i'm weird lol
Nikki_Nimrod Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 This song is so sweet! It always reminds me of one of my good friends, we both liked each other...and then he moved about 2,000 miles away. I used to listen to it & think of him, haha....but I still think of how cute Billie & Adie are too such a beautiful & passionate song!
Marsupial Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Never quite figured out what a malakite is The song is adorable, though! Whenever I hear this song, I can simply imagine Billie pining for Adie out in Minnesota--too cute, y'know?! Lately, however, this song tends to upset me for personal reasons, so I've been skipping more than I usually would.
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Never quite figured out what a malakite is Really brilliant green mineral -- Billie uses the term metaphorically to represent his deep green eyes (that he can't take off of Adie).... Actually spelled "malachite". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malachite
BillieJoe21st Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 This song i LOVE <3 to play on Guitar and Sing and sometimes dedicate it to certain people when i feel in the CERTAIN LOVING mood :eyebrow: and just a random thought they should make this: pink!!

Storer Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 At 00:40 the camera man stands on his guitar cable. At 1:35 Billie has revenge and steals his camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvnEV_UC3f4

blitzkriegdeb Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 This song is drenched with sappy love lyrics, and I fucking love it. "I can't see her but in the distance, I hear some laughter; we laugh together" I love this line so fucking much. It truly shows how much Billie longed to be there, laughing with her.
