BringMoreKnives Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Andres should totally use this thread title next time he needs donations. Bwahaha
mallorymaloney Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Do they actually travel with the band, though? As far as I know, each venue has its own security guards. Indeed they do! I recognised that all the security guards this year at a Green Day show I went to where the same guards at a completely different venue the year before!
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 If I were a big tough dude, I'd prefer to be the, like, personal bodyguard of one of the guys. Ya know, the ones that go everywhere with them and protect them from wackos? Not the ones at the shows. Or are they the same people?
st.idiot Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 lol when this said best hand job ever i was thinking, hmm shouldn't this be in the sex thread?? lol but then i read the post and it's a loooooooot different then what i thought. lol
Fuzz Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Indeed they do! I recognised that all the security guards this year at a Green Day show I went to where the same guards at a completely different venue the year before! If i'm not mistaken, it's a mix. There's a group that goes with the band, others provided by the venue. I could be wrong.

Marlee Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 okay, i completely misinterpreted the title... but i couldn't imagine having that as a job could be that enjoyable
Zero. Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 It wouldn't be to bad if you were traveling security with a band you like, but permanent arena security or whatever might not be that good, yeah you might see some awesome shows but ugh some of the douchebags you would have to put up with....
pasalaska Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Green Day have some dedicated security on their crew - there's Billie's bodyguard who's in charge of all the concert security, who stands in front of the barrier during the shows and is the one who tells people to put their hands up for stage divers, there's a couple of guys who stand on the stage and watch the crowd for troublemakers or people who need help, and there are a few roadies that assist in security during the shows on barrier - all very nice guys. They also man the venue entrances when the tour buses come in. But the majority of security is just venue or hired security - those are the guys in the company uniforms. Sometimes the same company does a few shows, like I saw the same security working at both the Irvine and Chula Vista shows. I'd assume that GD's management or the venues just hired the same company to do security. Being Green Day's security would be pretty damn cool, getting to travel the world and hang out with all the crew (who all seem like really, really nice guys), but general concert security would suck. I was talking to a security guard before the Melbourne show and he was saying one of his colleagues almost had his ear ripped off during an Akon show. Also, your ears would get shot by the constant loud noises, and it's hugely physically demanding, pulling people out of pits and restraining people.
fadi_7 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 not so cool job it's hard and you don't see you will be watching the crowd you will be able to hear their music only not see them and the best job is to work with green day
