Mike is a legend and he should definitely write more often.

I love this song and the way it approaches anger. It's a good therapy to listen to it when I'm angry.

ha ha I love this song  I listened to this twice today ha ha ... only greenday can sing such an angry song that makes you smile. Fave lines would have to be: The joke is over. You were an asshole, And now you're gone ... ahhh love it

love this song.

when i was 15, i dedicated this song (along with F.O.D, Scumbag, Having a Blast, and some others) to the one called Amy.

haha.

she was a nightmare of a human being.

whenever i hear this song, i can't help but smile and think of all the times she was around and i sat in my bedroom, door closed, blasting this song on my cd player.

:)

it makes me wonder if she ever stopped to listen to it when it was blaring through the walls.

did she even know the words, or that this song was for her?

it would be an odd coincidence that i played the same handful of songs EVERY TIME she was around.

This is an intriguing post. I'm trying to figure out who "the one called Amy" could be.

I hope, whoever she is, that she's no longer in your life . Since you use the word "was" about her, I'm guessing that's the case.

This is my favorite song by them I think. It was the first one I was really drawn too. Completely underrated too.

I love the punch this song brings with it. It's kind of got a bit of humour to it, it makes me laugh sometimes at how straightforward it is. It's fantastic, though.

this song is just so damn catchy... I love it. but it almost always makes me laugh, especially at the "you were an asshole, and now you're gone!" part because he sings the lines in this really forceful, grandiose way

Very underrated song :D I love it, sometimes it is nice to just be able to sit back, relax and hate on someone

This song is surely, very underrated. And I love this song.

It kinda reminds me of our (my best friend Evil's and my) summer campus roommate Victoria whose nickname was Backbone for some (for us) unknown reason. So me and Evil always used to rock out in our room with the music blasting out as loud as possible from our players' speakers. And once The Backbone was getting ready to go to the dance, getting all posh-y and we blasted that song accidentaly and started rocking out to it, headbanging and stuff like that.. Just mainly horsing around. And The Backbone without any clue that we dedicate the song to her tuns up to us and says 'Dudes, your music is so damn catchy and contagious. I think I might start liking your music by the end of the camp time.' That was a hell joke for us when she left for the dance. And we also used to scribble down the lyrics of this song in the campus's bathroom. Once again, thinking about Backbone.

So this song totally reminds me of the campus and all the tough pranks we pulled on Backbone. And all those situations perfectly suit the song, or vice-versa: the song totally suits all the situations. xD

thankfully, she is gone from my life.

she always tries to weasel her way back in though, somehow.

she enjoys making other people's lives miserable.

(probably to make herself feel better about her horrible life).

it took me the longest time to learn to just let it go, move on, and live my life.

"westbound sign" was the song that i listened to on new year's eve the year that my mom and i moved to get away from her.

it was my new year's resolution, in song form.

:)

we didn't move to california, but we did leave "tragedy 2000 miles away" in a sense.

Shenanigans was the last album that I bought and this song never really stood out to me but now I love it. It's still not my favorite on the album but I don't skip over it anymore lol

I love this song. It has this sexy dark humour to it. I wrote part of the lyrics to this girl I hated on the last day of 6th grade. I twisted the words around though.

Heck yes, haha. This song works great if I'm on a run or bike ride to let out some frustration! I almost always feel better after it plays like two or three times through.

I remember when I first bought Shenanigans and listened to this song, I laughed through the whole chorus. It's so great, I love how catchy it is. It's really fun to sing along to as well :D
