Really? I wasn't really sure about the whole Butch Vig thing. I prefer Rob Covallo.

Yeah if had to choose one I would go for Rob too, but Butch did a good job, so I still have plenty of faith in their producer choosing abilities lol

I just don't like the whole overproduce to make it sound underproduced style that Vig uses. Rob Covallo has a much nicer clean style.

Well Rob Cavallo is a great producer but from a reliably source i know that he is an asshole.and thats what makes me think they shouldnt choose him. even though american idiot still is a greatest masterpiece ever to me and 21st cb not THAT good. Butch Vig was great as well though. They should just have a look and think about it well.

because he is an amazing producer. but as a personality he was a dick. thats why they changed him for 21st cb. they didnt get along with him anymore. and yeah they said that but maybe they just couldnt tell what they thought in publicity idk. but you can believe me the person who told me can be trusted.

I don't think he seems like a dick. The reason they were won over to sign to Reprise and got him to produce their records was because he was such a nice guy and they really liked him. They described him as the fourth member of Green Day before and recently enough, Billie Joe was talking about how they "lost" him for this record. I think they didn't have him produce it because he had problems with their label and left it, plus he had lots of other projects at the time and Green Day just wanted to try something new. As far as I can tell, they still get on with him just fine. Who told you this? I have to say, I wouldn't really trust them in what they're saying... :\

Nevermind being 20 when it comes out.........if they follow the pattern of adding an extra year each time in between each album I'll be nearly 30
