Tubbie Head Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I know George the guy who runs Sonic Boom studios in Clydebank where they were doing demos in October, he was my Step Dads best man at his and my mums wedding. He told me Billie told him that all the songs were written and that they were on the last round of demoing when they were here in October. If they have been recording since then the demoing stages must be pretty much done. WOW That's kind of hard to believe... But I still think they are going to let us wait for a little bit I bet the new album will come out around 2013.

But I still think they are going to let us wait for a little bit I bet the new album will come out around 2013. The Glasgow area is pretty small tbh, the studio is right beside my old college and everyone pretty much knows everyone around Clydebank. Like I said earlier my gut reaction is saying Winter 2011 so 18 months from now at the very earliest for any kinda new material. Bearing in mind a singlew always comes out a few months before the album and stuff. Though needless to say I can not see the gap between 21CBD and the new album being as long as AI and 21CBD.

To be honest I think they just have a bunch of songs of which the album will be composed and things change all the time, I mean we have no idea how much one song changes from the moment its made to the moment its released. Dylan. Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I'm not so sure how reliable this information is. I mean, there weren't a large amount of facts in the article. Idk. It would be very easy to perceive that Green Day could be getting started on their new album. They've played new songs at the soundchecks and so there are many clues that could suggest they are working on a new record. As a band, that is what they do. They write new music constantly. However, Green Day has always been one to take fucking way too long to make a record. 21st Century Breakdown was a great album, but I'm not expecting their new record until around late 2012.

That's just speculating from my part, though. I'd love to think that its all rounded up and they have a fair idea of what they are going to do, will speed shit up, there are so many signs though, new songs at sound checks, laying down demos on tour all the activity around new material makes me think that is indeed the case.

I know the person who taped them took them down because she hated the thought that she upset Green Day. They should be allowed to play whatever the hell the feel like at a soundcheck without it spreading like it did.

I still don't think you should play songs at soundcheck if you don't want people to hear it / it to be out because when you do that, it is going to get out, but yeah. Although, the person who uploaded them took them down when she heard Green Day didn't want it out.

I don't really like it either but some people (not the person who filmed them in this case, I know she took them down quickly) don't care and will spread stuff like this. It's a shame but if they don't really want songs getting out they might just have to refrain from playing them openly like that
Marlee Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 It's great to hear that demos are being made and that they are looking for new producers. It's really exciting but i don't want to get my hopes up. I mean it was very vague in both the article and that clip someone posted. It's good to have something to look forward to...but it's gonna take a while before any new material is released. I'm not gonna get too excited...yet It took like 5 years between Ai and 21cbd. it's been only 1 year since the last album
