Is Paper Lanterns about her too?

Because this song has one of the best lyrics I've ever seen...

I'm moving this back to GD Chat. I think GD Music is good for a place to talk about specific songs, since this is more of a "collection" of the same songs already in GD Music, we can just keep it here.

Church On Sunday. It's my favorite Green Day song in general, and I think the lyrics are so genuine. =)

You know what I love about Billie's love songs in general? In every song he writes, he sounds even more in love than the last. Now that's true love.

when its time is beautiful, and redundant has always been one of my favorites.

Redundant. One of my favortie songs in general.

You're right, but HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW that?

hahaha, okay so I'm 15 and I obviously haven't experienced true love myself, but marriages either:

a) start off strong and end within a few years, or

b) last a long time but the spouses are bored with/hate each other.

When I look at recent pictures of Billie and Adrienne together they look so completely in love, even after 16 years. And it's quite rare to see that.

I like Last Night On Earth, because it's so unapologetic in regards to how cliche everything is that he's singing, and that's the beauty of love. You don't have to apologize for just being head-over-heels crazy in love with someone

Aah this sums up how I view it :)

You guys are actually making me well up  I'm going to be really lame tonight and have an evening of Adrienne and Billie Joe love songs tonight  It's myself and my boyfriend's 4 years 6 month anniversary in two weeks so I'm feeling pretty soppy :pinch:

Yeah good call. Redundant is maybe a song that the YOUNGER generation of fans don't COMPLETELY get but after your with someone for say 5-10 years there becomes a transcendence of feelings from that all encompassing puppy love stage to a new sort of love that is spiritual and that is hard to label as the same thing that you called love when you first met. I always loved the lost for words line of that song for that reason.

The video for Redundant is also awesome -- I love how it starts off simple, then the background activity keeps repeating itself, adding a couple new elements on each iteration...so metaphoric for life with someone becoming routine while getting crazier and more complex as time goes on. Then in the closing seconds of the vid, Billie picks up the daily paper and walks off the set with it, breaking the pattern -- and the anonymous 60's-esque female character can't handle it and shrieks. Epic. There's a good, older thread in SOTW discussing it by the way....

"When I come around" :ninja:

That made me giggle.

I'd say 2000 Light Years Away... Cause it's one of my favorite songs anyway.

Happy Anniversary, Billie Joe and Adrienne.

My favorite song that Billie wrote for Adie is definitely Redundant.

My favourite is Good Riddance :)

I joke, I joke :P

You're four years in and still celebrating months??? That's pretty sweet.

:pinch: Aaah we're silly!

We only really celebrate half years and full years now..we used to celebrate weeks ;)

Definitely Church on Sunday. It just gets to me. Its like the emotion in that song is so strong it reaches out & punches you dead in the face.
