watsername182 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Naww, Happy Anniversary Billie and Adie! I think my favourite song Billie has written for Adie has to be either '2000 Light Years Away' or 'When It's Time'. EDIT: Oh and 'Church On Sunday'.
Ellenkc Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Mine would be a tie between When It's Time And Church On Sunday. When It's Time is a beautiful song and I find it incredibly sweet that Billie kept that song private for so long and I'd rank it as the best love song he's ever written, makes you wonder what other hidden gems he's kept. I love Church On Sunday, it's not your typical perfect relationship love song. It shows a couple who are going through shit but love each other enough to compromise and continue on stronger than before. I'll be totally cliche and say Adrienne is a great muse for Billie. Happy 16th anniversary.
Armstump Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Whoo Happy anniversary to Billie and Adrienne My fav must be 80. But Last Night On Earth is really close!
Hermione Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I'd have to say Redundant. It's just so completely blunt and realistic while still being beautiful love song. You don't find that level of heartfelt honesty in a song very often and the lyrics are just.....ahh . He's a genius lyricist, I don't know how he does it! Happy anniversary to them
Gloria27 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Happy anniversary to Billie and Adrienne!! I like the lyrics of "Whe it's time" and the piano part (or the chords on the guitar) in " Last Night On Earth".
Vrock09 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Happy Anniversary! And my favorites have to be Redundant, and most recently When Its Time.
Miss Hedgie Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Last Night on Earth... or 2000 Light years away...
BIBARAGURORIA Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 "80," definitely, and happy anniversary to them.
Eirik Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Westbound Sign, probably. Not the most straight forward love song, but nonetheless. Also, When It's Time, Church on Sunday and Redundant.
coghlan351595 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Definately 2000 light years away. It was a great song and pretty mushy to hahah. Billie says that is the song he is most embarrassed about because of the lyrics!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Billie says that is the song he is most embarrassed about because of the lyrics! I thought that was 1,000 Hours.....
elisa Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 hah, I can't really pick my favorite.. but right now I'd say Westbound Sign because I've been listening to it a lot lately. I thought that was 1,000 Hours..... Yes, that was 1,000 Hours.
Izzard Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I really like church on Sunday, it really seems like a powerful song, It was an apology and renewed declaration of his love for her. So sweet.
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 But my fav song is When Its Time <3 Its perfect for them ! One of my faves as well, I'm so glad the band finally shared it with us! My favorite verse: "But then I need your voice/as the key to unlock all the love that's trapped in me." -- I think Billie is telling Adie there's nobody else in the world who gets him like she does, and nobody else who can release all this emotion that he carries around with him. Congrats to both of them on 16 years together -- and may their experience be a lesson and inspiration to us all. I've just turned 30 so I'm old as dirt to you kiddies. 42 here -- we need to set up an Old Farts Club thread in general chat.

Thats one of my fav parts, too :] So much emotion . . its amazing <3
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I'll be totally cliche and say Adrienne is a great muse for Billie. I had a very brief chance to say hi to Adie at the AIOB show back on April 22 -- and I was totally cliche' myself and told her exactly that -- I said something like "thank you so much for being Billie's muse"....and I swear she melted on the spot. Said "oh, you are so sweet", touched my arm and then <shy>my brain just locked up on me</shy>. But I'm glad I had that opportunity and was able to muster up enough cajones to do something with it -- I don't think Green Day's more casual fans give her the credit she deserves for supporting Billie, and I don't think either he or the band would be what they are without her influence. She seemed touched to know that at least some of us recognize that and appreciate her for it.
Holly Ann Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Happy Anniversary to them. I love 80, I think it's beautiful when he says '80 please keep taking me away', it gives me goosebumps. <3
Trina Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 The thread for their anniversary was closed for some ridiculous reason so yeah, here goes; Happy Anniversary, Billie Joe and Adrienne. <3 Sixteen years of marriage is incredible, especially under your circumstances. I know it's had it's difficulties but it's so beautiful to see you, like two teenagers in love, holding hands. It's rare to see true love but it radiates from you're marriage. Your love for each other gives me hope and inspires me. I love you and I'm so happy you have each other. Especially that Billie Joe has you, Adie to mind him. Not to mention your love has inspired so many amazing songs. You're the most beautiful couple ever. "We are all born in a world of doubt, but there's no doubt, I've figured out, I love you." I will never lose my faith in true love and soulmates, because of you. I adore all the songs he's written for her. I guess my favorite would be Church On Sunday. Yes, it's about the difficulties in their relationship but it's about wanting to mend that, accepting the fights and the harsh words and wanting to renew and compromise and trust. It shows the reality. Hearts Collide is definitely another favorite. So gorgeous. Also, Viva La Gloria!, which she partly inspired.
Izzard Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 . Hearts Collide is definitely another favorite. So gorgeous. Also, Viva La Gloria!, which she partly inspired. Billie didn't write hearts collide
Trina Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Edit: ^ What?! Westbound Sign and 80 would be another two favorites. <3 Actually, I could go on and on. They're all amazing. I had a very brief chance to say hi to Adie at the AIOB show back on April 22 -- and I was totally cliche' myself and told her exactly that -- I said something like "thank you so much for being Billie's muse"....and I swear she melted on the spot. She seemed touched to know that at least some of us recognize that and appreciate her for it. That's so adorable!! I love hearing stories like that. I want to meet her so much. There's so many things I'd like to say to her and thank her for. I'd probably come across as such a creeper. And yes, I agree. Billie Joe definitely wouldn't be where he was today, without her and in turn, Green Day wouldn't. I'm so thankful he has her. <3
November's Storms Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 For me it's gotta be 2,000 Light Years Away. To write such a great song after just a kiss! Really shows his ability to love!
