Juicebox Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Yes! Murder City can also be about the mass slaughter, only Billie is back to feeling no love for the raw meat, that's why he feels "usless". I feel like reinventing the who plot to 21stCBD by song now. it all makes sense now 1 Quote
BJA TC MD Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I wonder what else Billie wrote about raw ham. I mean, we can connect pretty much all of 21CB to raw ham, so what else?? I thought that "oh yeah, did I mention" in All By Myself was "I live in a nutshell" Quote
Sarcasm Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 What is mumbled at the end of Hitching a Ride? I never knew, so I just imagined it to be "in the woods where dicks grow". Doesn't sound like that at all, dicks are so convenient. Quote
Hermione Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 What is mumbled at the end of Hitching a Ride? I never knew, so I just imagined it to be "in the woods where dicks grow". Doesn't sound like that at all, dicks are so convenient. In the lyrics on Green Day Rock Band, it says it's "Say birthday boy hey" However there are some mistakes on GD Rock Band (such as "A pyre burns today" in one of the East Jesus Nowhere choruses). Plus I doubt they asked Green Day what all the lyrics that aren't written in the album booklets are. I reckon they took all the lyrics they could from the booklets and then just worked out the rest themselves. So I think "Say birthday boy hey" is just their guess. That does kind of fit but I'm not sure, it could just be Billie making random noises. Quote

Doesn't sound like that at all, dicks are so convenient. In the lyrics on Green Day Rock Band, it says it's "Say birthday boy hey" I've listened closely on live and studio versions and I think he says "2, 4, 3, 4, 3" or "2, 1, 3, 1, 3" Quote
Lena549 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 In Brain Stew I always understood 'My face is dumb' insted of 'my face is numb' In Hitching A RIde I thought it's 'Armitage 7-Eleven poison, oh no' instead of 'Fermented salmonella poison oak no' And in Nice guys finish last I used to hear 'when you're not a cast/guest' insted of 'when you're on the outcast' Quote
Drankolz Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 (edited) I haven´t read everything here yet and so I don´t know if my mistakes were already posted, so... In Having a Blast I would always hear "Chicken, are you done with me?" in the beginning which totally confused me. In Minority, I usually heard the "moron majority" instead of "moral majority". Makes sense though, I guess In Holiday, I thought for a very long time that Billie sings "the company lost it´s warranty". In someway it makes sense, but still it just couldn´t be right. Nobody Likes Cam Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 So I finally learned tonight what Billie Joe is saying in "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?". What it really says: "There's a boy who fogs his world..." What I thought it said: "There's no point in four two twelve..." I was way off... *facepalm* Haha I thought it was "There's a boy who fucks this world" 1 Quote
BJA TC MD Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Haha I thought it was "There's a boy who fucks this world" Haha, same!! 1 Quote
San Miguel Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 At the beginning of Jesus of Suburbia i always thought it said I'm the Son of Rage and Love The Jesus of Suburbia The Bible loves none of the above What are we steadily dying of? Sex and pop and vitamins... I wasn't far off but still wrong! Quote
Juicebox Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 wait grammar matters .. is it the subliminal mind-fuck: America or the subliminal mind, Fuck America. Quote
DoodleBob Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 wait grammar matters .. is it the subliminal mind-fuck: America or the subliminal mind, Fuck America. I always thought it was, "The subliminal mind, fuck America." But now that you brought up the other option I'm not 100% sure. I guess it could go either way since they are both getting Billie's point across. Quote
agrizotti Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 In Minority, I usually heard the "moron majority" instead of "moral majority". Makes sense though, I guess WAIT WHAT, it isn't MORON majority? I feel like my life is not the same anymore. Quote
BJA TC MD Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Before the last chorus of Dominated Love Slave, I'm always like, what about a "pick-up truck"? Does anyone even know what all of that even is in that bit of the song?? Quote

Does anyone even know what all of that even is in that bit of the song?? I think he's just shouting random shit to make it sound more country. I hear 'Hey ma!' and I also hear 'Pick-up truck'. 2 Quote
Nobody Likes Cam Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 wait grammar matters .. is it the subliminal mind-fuck: America or the subliminal mind, Fuck America. I think it's mind-fuck. Like America is fucking with your mind...idk though. Quote
Hermione Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 wait grammar matters .. is it the subliminal mind-fuck: America or the subliminal mind, Fuck America. I think it's both. It's "the subliminal mind-fuck: America", as in America can be a confusing, contradictory, mixed up mind-fuck. But I think it's also deliberately putting the phrase " fuck America" out there (as in "fuck the aspects of America I'm singing about in this song"). This is particularly noticeable when you watch them playing it live, Billie often shouts out the "fuck America" part extra loud and clear to make it separate. The fact that it says "the subliminal mind" just before it makes it even better, since it's kind of like you're hearing the phrase fuck America subliminally with it hidden within "The subliminal mind-fuck: America". So yeah, I reckon it's a double meaning. 3 Quote
Poprocks_and_Coke Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 OMG I had to laugh so hard when I read this about raw ham. I don´t know if it counts but in The Pedestrian I always understood "It don´t take a jeegus (whatever that is...) to be an alien" instead of "It don´t take a genius to be an idiot" Well mine doesn´t make any sense! 1 Quote
BJA TC MD Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 In Scattered, I thought "all the songs have been erased" was "and that songs that Billie raced" 1 Quote
Poprocks_and_Coke Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 In Scattered, I thought "all the songs have been erased" was "and that songs that Billie raced" I´ve understood almost the same! "all the songs that Billie raised" Sorry for that lame post. xD 1 Quote
Poprocks_and_Coke Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Sorry for posting again... In Last of the American Girls I understood instead of "She´s one of a kind..." "She´s one of the car wash..." Thanks. Bye. 1 Quote
agrizotti Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I woke up this morning with this verse in my head: "I'm the son of REGINALD, the Jesus of Suburbia" 2 Quote
Hermione Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I was listening to Blood Sex And Booze and my mum walked in and heard the line "I'm in distress", and claimed she thought it said "I'm in this dress" . Although I'm not sure if she genuinely thought that or not lol. Quote
americanidiot812 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I'm pretty sure it is "We are the class of, the class of thirteen". no, it's definately "We are the cries of the class of thirteen" if you listen too it really loud it's easier to understand Quote
