Seeing Pinhead Gunpowder 2/12/10 :D :D :D

I don’t know what kinda luck or karma I have but I still feel SO lucky and blessed to be able to go to the Pinhead Gunpowder show in February. It was seriously life changing and so surreal. I couldn’t believe I was at Gilman (of all places!) seeing Pinhead Gunpowder right in front of my eyes!!! It was amazing, indescribable. I cannot put into words how thankful I am and how utterly mind blowing the whole experience was. I never thought in my wildest dreams Id ever get to go to a Pinhead Gunpowder show. Ever. Hearing and seeing the song New Blood being played was really more than I could ask for. To be able to rock out and sing with the artists during that song was one of the best experiences in my life. Very liberating. In that moment, I felt unstoppable.

When I first got into Green Day, back in '04 when American Idiot came out, I brought my cd to school. Mind you, I was still ten at the time and my teacher was an uptight bitch. So began to preach how they are a disgrace to music because god forbids, she's a Bush fan - she wants a prime minister like him to run Canada. I wasn't impressed. Anyway, she kept yapping, and luckily, my desk way right beside the cd player - boom box, whatever you call it - so I popped the cd in and blasted American Idiot as loud as I could. She was so mad, and right before she turned the music off, Billie sang out, "Subliminal mind fuck America!"

Then all the kids in the class gasped, while some fell in love with the music. I was pretty proud of myself. But then afterwards, I got sent to the office. I got detention for a few weeks. So worth it though.

SUBWAY<3 What is up with that place and tre!? me and my friend saw tre a block away from a subway in hartford that we were just coming from! he went into a resturant nearby and we tried also not to super creepily wait on the corner a few stores down til he came out. but then my friend told me they were handing out GA wristbands (WHICH THEY NEVER DID TIL DOORS HOURS LATER) so we left.... 10 minutes later somebody else met him in the same spot -__-

theyre apparently big barbecue eaters too haha. that day whenever we saw tre and jason walking around, they went and ate at a barbecue resteraunt called rippys. and then the next day whenever i met mike he was at ANOTHER bbq place haha. im sure tre was thoroughly creeped out by the fact we just happened to run into him so many times that day, but he was super nice about it.

I already posted this on the tour thread but i met Billie Joe in Munich

I was shopping after i dropped my luggage off at the hotel.

So me and my boyfriend were walking down the street ( where that big gate is in the city center) and Billie, Bill schneider and a bodyguard came walking straight in our direction. I was like " Is that Billie Joe ? " :o And Anthony, my boyfriend, was like " no thats not him "

And then Billie walked by me and i was like " thats Billie joe "

So i was standing there in total shock and my boyfriend was like " go go you never get that chance again"

So i ran after them and asked him if i could take a photo with him, that bodyguard wanted to push me away but billie turned around and said "yeah sure" and gave him a sign to back away :)

He asked me something but i was shaking like an idiot and didnt know what to say  I feel like such a dumbass now =/

So than he grabbed me and we took the photo If its possible i shook even more when he put his arm around me

That bodyguard was such an ass he was ike "quick quick " and made me even more nervous

So when we where done he smiled and said " see you " and we were like " yeah tomorrow " And Billie goes " Oh thats cool "

And when i blwe him a kiss at the concert he pointed at me ,laughed and nodded his head towards me :)

Yeah that was long but im still in shock

Oh and he wore my pink glasses during king for a day, i finally managed to throw it up but didnt get a photo because he threw it in the crowd

Heres the photo

I've got lots of Green Day stories.

I scheduled my life around Green Day. Back in 2001, I had to have a major operation on my spine and my parents wanted to know if I had any last requests before I got my surgery, like a vacation or something. I told them all I wanted to do was see Green Day, so that's what I got. I had to reschedule my surgery in order to get there, but it worked out. Ten days later I go to the hospital wearing my tour shirt, and my surgeon goes "Green Day! I've got my Dookie cd out in the car, I've been listening to it. Do I need to go get it, I can listen to it while I work on you?" Then he went on about Green Day for a little bit, and told me he wasn't a fan of Insomniac.

Then in 2005, I bought tickets to the Pittsburgh show as my little brother's 9th birthday present. Because I went to see them in Detroit, but couldn't take him with me and I felt really bad about it. So a couple days before the show, he starts getting really worried because they're pit tickets and he thinks he's going to get squished or trampled or something (he'd been in the pit before and was fine, so I don't know what happened). It got so bad, I almost had to find somebody else to go to the show with. But me and my dad talked him into going, and the 3 of us went. While we're waiting for the band to come on, some girls see him and go "that little kid is going to get killed down here." I tell them that he's gonna be fine, this is his third Green Day show since he was 5. My dad let him sit on his shoulders for the rest of the night so he could see better. Later on during the show Billie's running around with the super soaker, he saw him up on my dad's shoulders and pulls him up onstage to use the squirt gun with him. This officially makes him the coolest kid in the 3rd grade.

Last summer I got pulled onstage to play guitar, but I don't know how much more of that story I want to share.

So I'm no love struck teenager but rather a 40 year old idiot that has been twitching uncontrolably to the boys since I picked up a Kurplunk cassett at the small local record store not long after it came out... I never made it to shows back then because I was either broke or without wheels or both. I have been going to as many shows as I can in recent years simply because I can and there is no better therapy for me than dancing my ass off. At a show last summer I was completely blindsided with a suck face by Mr. A, I only wish I had seen it coming. I've never met the man and have never met a man ( & I've met more than a few) with the balls to just walk up to a woman (complete stranger) who is looking the other way, grap her by the skull and lock lips. I was and still am in a bit of shock over the experiance, it was a quick three inch close on that guyliner. I am nuts for what Tre does and was completely focused on him as they walked by with Tre in the lead. After the fact, I was more than a bit grossed out wondering how many other people in the audiance I had just swapped spit with as it was the end of the walk through the crowd intro. I have wanted to ask him (Mr. A) if he has ever had any fan experiences that made him uncomfortable because I feel like he totally turned the tables on me with that one. Super sexy weirdo next time let me know it's coming & I'll be ready for it.:)

Is this you?

Please, please, please, say it's you  I love it

Yeah...that's me. :pinch:

Oh and also, Billie attempting to play Castaway at my request then pointing to me and say "I got your back there!" after... following him playing When I Come Around for my friend Damian who came from Argentina (I was the one who told him / and made the sign for him). Ever since that show they've played When I Come Around. The feeling of knowing that we pretty much put such a wonderful song on the setlist is indescribable.

Ahh I know how you feel....same happened with me and my WMUWSE sign in Rotterdam last October. I love that song a LOT. It had only been played once before this whole tour, in the US, and then at Rotterdam he saw my sign, played September, and in all the shows they've done ever since (minus three or four in NZ and Asia), they played September...

Hi im new here so hi!! :)

After waiting in line excess of 10hours in sweltering 37 degrees Celsius heat I finally got to see Green Day for the first time in December 2009. Several songs through the set list, the bass line of Longview started and Billie wondered across the stage asking the audience who knows this song? Who knows the lyrics to this song and can come up and sing it right now? I started screaming and waving frantically. He points at me (omg!) and says do you know it? Hey, she knows it right here! and then he said the kindest thing anybody has ever told me.

ALLRIGHT GIRL GET YOUR ASS UP ONSTAGE!!!

After finally being squeezed out of the pit the security guards hurled me up onstage. First thing I did was run straight over to Billie and gave him a huge hug!!! He hugs me back and the audience all went aaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwww he gives me the microphone and away I went running between him. Unfortunately I am the worst singer in the world but I like to think I made up for it with energy by running back and forth across the stage and jumping down the catwalk. In fact, someone commented on my talent on twitter saying looking for the video of the drunk girl that cant sing for shit! I was not drunk I might I might add but yeh I sounded like a dying moose. But to be honest I didnt even care. I was onstage with Green Day. The other 15000+ didnt even matter! I had no shame!!! Billie joined me on the catwalk and sang with me. While he was playing guitar I put my arm around him and gave him a kiss on the cheek and he kissed me back :) It was quite easily the highlight of my so far short life! I had a blast and the time of my life and it will be a night I will never ever forget!

im the first girl in the red shirt :D

Me and my friends were 11 or 12 when we made a presentation about GD for our music class. I had no problems telling the whole class that "Green Day means a day when you do nothing but smoke marijuana", and that this band happens to be my favourite. I swear the teacher was very pleased.

I got featured in this german teenie-magazine Bravo because I kissed Billie Joe on stage

they called me the unknown and stuff like that :P

ok so the translation for it (sorry its always hard to translate bravo's "cool" language but i tried my best XD) so:

(under the right pic) : "grabbing and canoodling....thats a real "rock-kiss"

(under left photo): "billie joe and the "make out fan" onstage"

the article:

Kiss me Billie Joe!

To stand one time next to Green-Day-singer Billie Joe Armstrong(38) onstage! Thats what million of rock fans dream of. In Hannover this dream came true for a boy- and even more: he got a nice men-kiss. Great! During the concert Billie Joe pulled him onstage. Actually he should sing along a song. But "the unknown person" thought of something else. He grabbed Billie Joe and just canoodled him. Real fan-love!

LMAO. You oughta put that in your sig. :)

Ha, ha! I wholeheartedly agree! "Get this chick a sudafed. Get this chick a sudafed. Get this chick a sudafed." :]

Uhm.. I was at Green Day's show in Rotterdam last year. I was in front of the catwalk, a bit to the right. During King For A Day Billie threw his kazoo in my direction, and while I saw a lot of hands trying to grab it, I caught it. The rest of the show I wanted to make sure it was still in my pocket xD

Well that's not really interesting. One Green Day related thing that was funny was at school. One time during Economy class I laughed too much or something, and I had to sit in front of my teacher's desk and do the rest of my homework there. I have a Green Day pen case, and my teacher noticed it. He said: "Oh, you like Green Day?" "Uhm, yes!" "They're pretty cool, I like their album American Idiot, and uhm.. the one in the green case, what is it called?" "Eh..You mean Dookie?" "That one must be it, it's great." "Yeah, I love their music!" Totally made my day! :D

seriously, that green case is a curse upon this country. WHY is Dookie only ever findable in a green case unless you search every shop in the area?!

cool stories though xD

just like all the other stories in this thread.

When we were at some boring place and I was pestering my mum to go home. After, I started singing welcome to paradise and I sang 'Dear mother, can you hear my whining?' and she was like 'YES, ACTUALLY '

 for some reason I don't expect that people *hear* me when I sing, I especially don't expect them to reply..
