On the topic of losing one's virginity to Green Day...if kiss on cheek-virginity counts too, I qualify for that one.

A little over two weeks ago I went to Pinkpop. Awesome concert, really, but fast-forward to the bass-line of Longview. I'd made this sign saying "I know Longview", held it up and Mike saw it, laughed and nodded at it. Billie walked by, saw the sign too, and asked me if I wanted to come up on stage, and asked twice if I knew the lyrics. After hysterically nodding, some security guard pulled me out of the crowd and shoved me to the stairs to get on the stage. On stage, Billie made me promise to times more I knew the lyrics, also said the first line in my ear, and I was off! I also noticed I could hear myself only with an echo and terribly distorted so at the time I didn't even know what the fuck I was doing. I sang the song till the "I got no motivation part", sang that together with Billie in the same mic, and then he grabbed the mic, said thanks, gave me a kiss on the cheek, and went off to search another person to finish the song (funnily, he picked someone I'd briefly talked to earlier that day. He kicked ass at the song, too). Security put me back in the crowd, at pretty much the exact same spot I was before, and it wasn't until after the concert I went in shock. On a side note, security seemed really determined to get people on and off stage as fast as possible. I could barely walk the way he shoved me to the stairs, and later back to my spot. When I saw myself back later I found out I was awful, but I don't really care about that. Best thing in my life ever.

I suck at telling stories.

Is this you?

I don't really have anything terribly interesting, but here goes. My first Green Day concert was (it feels so good to say that!) last July when they came to Nashville. My friend had won me tickets off of the radio :) We had nose bleed seats and I couldn't drag her down to the stage because the fumes of "unspecified" substances were getting to her. The tickets also came with a very misleading "Aftershow" pass which basically consisted of middle aged people drinking and playing Rockband. It was by far the best night of my life!

I haven't been as fortunate as others

Story 1:

My only close encounter was last summer on their first North American tour for 21st Century Breakdown, I was at their show in New Orleans and during...I wanna say either 21st Century Breakdown or Know Your Enemy, Billie came running up the stairs to our section and was standing in the aisle of the row above me, I was in the middle of the row so I wasn't too close to him to be able to touch him, but at least I could clearly see his face and how little his body is  I thought it was amazing considering I've never been on the floor for a Green Day show and have always had to watch from far away in the stands, so seeing him maybe 10 feet from me was great.

Story 2:

When I was in the prime of my Green Day obsession in 2005, I remember listening to all of their albums over and over. This was a time before I bought my first ipod, so I was still listening to music via Walkman portable cd player. I would stack up all my Green Day cds, sit on the couch, and listen to them in order all day long. And every night when I went to bed I would put in a Green Day cd and fall asleep to it. I usually listened to Kerplunk at night but once in a while I would play Dookie as well.

Heres my real story, I met my girlfriend / love of my life at a Green Day concert :)

i went to nashville in july 2009 to go to the green day concert there. the day before the show, two of my friends and i were walking around downtown. we were waiting at a stoplight to cross the street, when we looked over to the other corner and saw tre, jason freese, and a girl who i'm pretty sure is jason's wife, waiting to cross the street. we followed them back downtown - trying to be as non-creepy as possible - but they eventually went to eat lunch in a barbecue resteraunt and we lost track of them. awhile later, we wandered into a gift shop and who should we see but tre and jason! me and my friends were all three super nervous and starstruck, but eventually i got up the courage to say hi to them and we talked for awhile. jason and tre were both really nice. tre kept playing with all these random little toys in the store, and he threw some stuff at jason. we didnt get any pictures with tre, but it was still amazing. later on that day, we went to eat at subway by the hotel they were staying in, and as we were walking out...i looked up, and there was a white van stopped at the light in front of us. i saw the guys inside, and tre was waving at us. before i could even react, the light changed and the van was gone but i thought it was really nice of tre to remember us and wave.

the next day, while waiting in line for the concert, me and some other people got out of line for awhile and walked around downtown since it was right by the arena. we heard mike was in a barbecue joint down the street, so we went in and saw him, and walked past him, trying not to be obvious...even though there were like four people with us wearing green day shirts haha. we talked to him for a little bit and he was super nice, and said he couldnt take any pictures because then he'd be stuck in there all day, but he told us to keep each other safe during the show. :)

I lost my virginity to Green Day. Dominated love slave was on repeat in the background

Just kidding, but if nobody else comes up with a story like that feel free to use mine, i wont deny it

:whistle

Fuck, I thought you were serious.

Uhhhh my boyfriend sings Its Fuck Time after we fuck sometimes? hahaha but lets not put that on a podcast.

But I think my Green Day moment I'm most proud of is my very first show. Bowery Ballroom May 18th 2009... for years I'd dreamed of seeing a Green Day record release show in a small NYC venue like Irving Plaza for American Idiot. In December 2008 I even wrote a creative writing story about it happening. In April I heard rumors of this show happening and even though it wasnt verfied until a week or so before the show I had hope from the day I found out even though everybody told me to not get my hopes up. About 4 days before they had a random drawing for names to win tickets on the idiot club. I think the only time I've ever literally prayed was to get tickets to this.... the next day, May 15th, CD release day I was at six flags with my physics class and I get a text from my friend saying we got the codes to buy tickets. I was on line for a ride and just started jumping up and down and screaming of joy. 3 days later I was on my way to the city at 5 in the morning to wait for 12 hours for my first Green Day show ever. I made some great friends and the show was amazing. Front row, literally sweat on by Billie. But the big thing was that I had hand written a two and a half page letter about how much Green Day means to me that I was hoping to give to them. After the show we waited about an hour and they walked out of the venue into their vans... Billie and Tre went by so quickly I didnt have a chance to say anything or hand them it, but Mike still hadn't come out. When he did, I made sure I was standing right by the door and ready. He walked by me and I stuck my hand out and said quickly "Mike, it would mean the world to me if you read this!". He took it, put it in his pocket and said "Thanks for this". I don't know if just he read it or all of them, but I dont care because I know that at least one of them knows what they mean to me and I plan on meeting them one day to tell them again in person :)

Oh and also, Billie attempting to play Castaway at my request then pointing to me and say "I got your back there!" after... following him playing When I Come Around for my friend Damian who came from Argentina (I was the one who told him / and made the sign for him). Ever since that show they've played When I Come Around. The feeling of knowing that we pretty much put such a wonderful song on the setlist is indescribable.

I don't know what to share! Let's see... At the Arco Arena in Sacramento last year, I was up front near the stage. The show was nearly coming to an end and then I hear Billie Joe Armstrong begin to play "When I Come Around". I was ecstatic! It's my favorite song and I was not expecting Green Day to play it at the show because they didn't perform it at the DNA Lounge (no matter how loudly I tried to request it). There was a brief moment where it seemed like Billie Joe was looking at me in the front row and it was so cool! I just smiled back and rocked out! It's like one of those moments when you feel like your hero did something just for you. :] That's one of my Green Day story highlights.

SUBWAY<3 What is up with that place and tre!? me and my friend saw tre a block away from a subway in hartford that we were just coming from! he went into a resturant nearby and we tried also not to super creepily wait on the corner a few stores down til he came out. but then my friend told me they were handing out GA wristbands (WHICH THEY NEVER DID TIL DOORS HOURS LATER) so we left.... 10 minutes later somebody else met him in the same spot -__-

Well, last year on May 15th I went to New York for the meet and greet/album signing. I took the bus from Maryland to there, arriving in NY around 6 pm on the 14th. In line, I got to hang out with some people I met and we went around town to stores just having fun. Back to the meet and greet; Kate had made some clay charm replicas of the guy's instruments, and I gave them to the guys. (Here is a picture of them ) and Billie liked it so much he gave me his scarf, (which you can see here) I was in shock, I felt so lucky. -I kinda cried a little-

Later I had issues with the hostile I had booked to sleep at. I decided to go back to the meet and greet to see what was going on. At the end, I got to see Tre' jump into a pile of trash which was pretty cool  . But now I was like yeah I'm fucked, no place to sleep. So I spent the night around the train station getting yelled at by the police for trying to sleep there because I didn't have a train ticket. I barely got any sleep, and the next morning I was so happy to see the bus arrive. All in all it was probably one of the coolest trips I've ever taken, 2nd only to my trip with kate to see the FBHT play the Bowery Electric.

I heard Tre would be hosting an event at a golf course in Oakland so i went to see if i could meet him. I figured it was worth a shot. We got to the event like an hour after it started. We just walked onto the golf course, no one seemed to notice my friend and I. I asked a couple people if they had seen Tre and they had. I was told he was on the course playing somewhere. So I decided to walk on the golf course and see if i could find him. As we passed people from the event we would get a slightly weird look....I think they could tell i wasnt there for the golf. lol. But whatever, I wanted to meet Tre! My friend and I walked around for about a half hour and then he drive up behind us in his golf cart!!!! I was like OMG!!! I just started laughing, i was so overcome with joy. He said “Looks like we have ourselves a little punker chick here” when he saw me. I didn’t even know what to say. He drove up and parked right near me. I noticed he had a drink in his hand, i was tempted to ask him if it was a cheech :P. He asked me my name and i told him "Amanda" and he stuck out his hand and said "Hi, I'm Tre!" and I was like “I know”....haha. When i asked him to sign my vest he said sure and asked where to sign. I handed him a blue sharpie and he said to me "blue on blue?" reffering to my denim vest. i was like "yeahh...?" (lol i knew he'd try to mess with me :P) i told him where ever he wanted to sign, so he decided to sign on the Rancid patch on the back. Knowing that the patch is black, i told him to not sign on the black so ill be able to see his signature. He was said ok and smiled at me. Then I asked for a hug and he said "of course!" and hugged me :D. I kept sniffling cuz of my allergies and Tre said like three times "get this chick a sudafed". I didnt know how to respond to that one lol. He even asked my friend and I if we wanted to know where Mike was. He told us the general area where he was, but by the time we left I don’t remember what he said. LOL. His friend/team mate asked us how we got onto the golf course, assuming we jumped the fence. I told him we just walked in and tried to blend in and it worked. I never thought id have the opportunity to meet Tre, hug him, get a picture with him AND get his autograph. I only talked to him for a couple minutes, but i couldnt be more thankful.

We want to hear some Green Day related stories, something memorable that you'd like to share. It should be something that happened to you and some how involves Green Day or their music.

The closest I've come to the band or anyone connected with it was when I very briefly talked with Adie when we all were at the AIOB showing on April 22 (the night that the band came on stage for a quickie after curtain call). The encounter was very spontaneous and was over in the blink of an eye, I absolutely *suck* at keeping the brain in gear (hell, in check!) in celeb/near-celeb encounters -- but it's still worth mentioning here I think. I was walking into the theater toward my seat, Adie was dashing up the aisle, and I just shouted out "Adrienne!" and she stopped for a quick second, then I said "I just wanted to say thank you so much for being Billie's inspiration, he's done such great things because of you..." She just *melted* for a second -- she said "oh, that's so sweet" and (GULP) touched my arm real quick before heading back out of the auditorium..... I suppose if I were a better schmoozer or whatever I could have spun that into an eventual autograph or intro, but by this point my brain had basically blown every single one of its gaskets. So, "Mr. Smooth" I sure wasn't, but does it qualify as memorable? Hell yeah.

Oh God, someone share a losing their virginity to Green Day story, please. I want to put some Isaac Hayes on behind it when we read it out.

TMI!!!!

At the Foxboro Hot Tubs show at Don Hills NYC I saw Mike walk in to the place and I said hi to him. I touched Billie, and Tre when they walked on and offstage and afterwards we met Mike again and he told us a joke. What's better then flowers on a piano? Tulips on an organ.

At the musical I met Adrienne, both Jason's and Jeff.

I have another story to add if thats ok XD

About a year ago during spring break, my parents surprised me with a trip to San Francisco for my sweet 16. And being the Green day fan i am, they took me to Oakland for a day.

We went Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe and had breakfast then drove around for a while. Then we went to Atomic Garden and it was a great store, but because everything was pretty much local, handmade, stuff, it was expensive and we couldn't really get much :\

As we were getting together what we had bought, in walks Adie. I was starstruck for about 10 seconds and somehow I managed to look up just as she walked by me and we both said hi to each other.

I was wearing my Foxboro tour shit but I didn't expect her to noticed. But as she was walking upstairs [i assume to like an office area] she stopped and asked me if I had been to one of their shows.

All i could really get out was a nod. My father asked if she'd take pictures with me and she agreed :D She came downstairs a few minutes later and we got pics, then talked for a while.

We talked about the guys being in LA finishing up the album and that it was going to be released on the 15th of May. We talked about Mike and Brittney's wedding and how big Brixton has gotten XD

She noticed my GD + NRDC necklace as well and tried to give me a NRDC Atomic Garden keychain but I had already bought one. I would feel bad for taking another one XD

Then she had to meet with a woman that was wondering around the store for an interview, so we said our good byes and that was hands down the best trip i've ever been on

[i didnt want to type this earlier because i felt that it was too long but. im bored lol

and i love reading all these stories btw, they've made my day better  ]

I got to go to the Foxboro show at Don Hill's bar back in April. I was with my Mom and my cousin there and as we were watching the opening bands\ waiting for the main event, my Mom walks by the bar and sees Trè is sitting there! She was headed towards the restroom and she ran into Kevin Preston; she was looking for the restroom and he showed her where it was! Lol, she told me he was very sweet! But anyways, I was just so happy I got to be at a FBHT show and to hear the debut of their new song was awesome! I got to touch Billie multiple times during all the crowdsurfing as well as Mike and Trè when they jumped out too. I also got some of the Rev's beer slung on my my face, some in my eye, and just a drop in my mouth. XD It was the best night ever in my life so far.

Sorry if it's a little long but...

I went to The Foxboro Hot Tubs show at Don Hills NYC and the funny thing was that I wasn't gonna go. None of my friends wanted to go with me and I didn't want to go alone because I suck at navigating and I get lost very easily. Then I came on here, feeling all sad and then I saw that people from Jersey and NYC were gonna go alone as well. As luck would have it, we decided to meet up at Penn Station and go to the show. I lied to my parents and told them that I was meeting up with some friends to go to the movies cause I knew damn well if I told them that I was going to a concert--by myself--with some people that I met on the Internet, they would have said, "Fuck no!" So I met up with everyone and we went on our merry way...even though we got on the wrong subway and almost went to Queens and got of just in time and couldn't find the street where the club was and we had to ask random FedEx and UPS guys to find our way.

We finally get there and we saw Mike walk in the place and we said hi. Fast forward to the show and Billie gave me his beer and poured some in my mouth. Fast forward a little bit and Billie grabs my hand and gropes it down his body. Fast forward some more and I was kinda sitting on the stage...kinda upside down, in pain cause my leg was against the barrier and I couldn't feel it from the knee down. I'm watching Billie singing and stuff and he comes over to where I'm at. Then next thing I know, he grabs my face and he kisses me. I literally went :woot: "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" and people was congratulating me and shit and I was in a complete daze for the rest of the night.

After the show, me and some other GDC-ers are chilling outside the club and then we see Mike again and he tells us a joke: "What's better than flowers on a piano? Tulips on a organ." Then I see my professor, who shares the same love for Green Day as I do and we chatted for a bit.

So, I lost my voice and I fucking reeked of beer and sweat and I was in so much pain. Some people might say that probably smells disgusting and being in pain sucks, but I say...the pain was delightful and I smelled fucking amazing.
