Just Kate Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Yeah, exactly. I can now make out the verses because I finally know the lyrics. But the chorus is still just like you said "*uncoherent mumbling* and I'm all wound up" repeat a couple of times. you crack me up
deadair Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I'm really stupid, until today I thought the Static Age went "I can't see feed in the video"
Izzard Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I know almost all of them....but no not alllll..not yet
bass boy Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 most, some are sung so fast i cant process what he is saying at that moment.
ifmemoryserves Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Mostly just my favorites, I guess. I mean, I don't think I've ever even listened to all of Kerplunk so... And some songs I DO listen to, I just mumble the lyrics to parts I don't really know.
Heather! Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I know most of them, save some of the newer tracks like Viva la Gloria! and a few random songs.
Starred Thoughts Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I'd say that I know most of them, and I am like some of you where I will think something is one lyric but I come to find that it is actually something else. For the longest time in 'Reject' I though it was "fistful of high tails" but it's "fistful of ideals". Oh and there's one song, damnit I forget.. but like not all the lyrics for it are written down for it in the booklet of the CD (whichever album it was.. :/) and there's only like two verses written.. but yeah.. perhaps even Billie forgot what he was talking about
AndrewW91 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Yeah, exactly. I can now make out the verses because I finally know the lyrics. But the chorus is still just like you said "*uncoherent mumbling* and I'm all wound up" repeat a couple of times. Same here, I want to sing along to and I learn lyrics fairly quickly. But Billie mumbles so much for some songs I really have to learn the lyrics (instead of just remembering more of them the more I listen the song) and that's just too much of a hassle. I'm slowly progressing but I still don't know all the lyrics to all the songs. Yeah. I used to have to look them up every now and then, but I eventually learned them all.
Prisca Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I know majority of their lyrics except for a few here and there or sometimes I just forget. I always get stuck on songs off of Insomniac because I listen to that album least. I found it interesting when I saw 'em last August, they played Tight Wad Hill and I honestly don't listen to that song much but when I heard it I just started singing right away! It's crazy how sometimes you just sing without even thinking about it... I hope that made some sense.
PunkRocks and Coke Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I know all of them except a few on 1039, smoothed out slappy hours. I feel wierd when my ipod is on shuffle and all of a sudden here comes a green day song that i only know the chorus to, it makes me feel like im less of a fan or something, but it also feels weird to call it green day with out Tre,
beccarobertsonn Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I know nearly all of them, but I don't know the majority of the songs on Kerplunk. I know almost every single word to every other song though.
poisonoak Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 most of them i guess, there are songs that i can sing along to when it is playing, but tend to forget some bits if theres no music and am sing by myself
alaniluau Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 All. Wow, I realize how much of an obsessor that makes me sound like.
Christina_Whatsername Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I don't come any further than "dizzy spells and hmmmmmumblingmmmm make it stop...." also, "don't break flies and empathize" (and while I now know the lyrics, I still hear 'don't break flies'). Shenanigans is definitely where I got the most creative hahahahahaha.. the same thing is happenig to me..!
eastbayweirdo Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I can honestly say I know the lyrics to every single song by them. Even the extra songs and b-sides. I've looked up the lyrics many a time for help with Billie's cute mumbling.
Metanoia Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 well lets see i know all of 21st cb/ai and international superhits () half of dookie, nimrod, warning and insomniac and only a few from shenanigans,1,039 and kerplunk.....
BIBARAGURORIA Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I used to know just about every lyric, but now? Forget about it. I draw a blank when I'm humming along to "Holiday".
Shaekwon Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Just random songs from every album. But I'm still a relatively new fan so I still got a lot of catching up to do.
darenmay Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 i mess with the lyrics of the first two albums, 1039/sosh and kerplunk. but the rest, i have memorized.
Maddy. Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 TEENIE Oh my god, I only just saw this. I'm not a teenie. I hate Greenday.
SetOnOverdrive Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I only listen to Last Ride In and Espionage! I voted for that. Just because I could.
AnnA™ Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I'd say I know the lyrics to pretty much every song, as I've looked them all up and learnt them at some point during all these years. But it's easy to forget some, get it mixed up or learn it wrong without noticing. You just get it wrong sometimes.
