Fuzz Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Yeah, maybe a girl could lessen the gay jokes, which get rather old after dozens of episodes. Blah blah blah, there aren't even that many compared to the first dozen or so. And now if we ever did bring on a girl, I'll make it a point to gay it up even more.
gdpony Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I love the gay jokes, and I love the podcast as it is right now. But a female guest from time to time would be a nice idea. I really loved when Clover was a guest, she shared the same sense of humor I guess.
November's Storms Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 This has been suggested before I know, and you're probably sick of hearing it, but bringing regular members on from time to time to shake things up a bit would be cool.

We've talked about doing that, i'd like to see it happen too before long.
lastnightonGDA Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Yeah,, that'd be awesome. That would allow for more green day talk because everyone has their own cool experiences...
ifmemoryserves Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 To be honest all the gay jokes got really old. Hence I stopped listening. Not that you care - just saying.
Tubbie Head Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 My thoughts on how to improve the podcast: Would totally love that you guys had more guests, like a different one every episode or even little interviews with fans who have nice stories to share, people who have been travelling for GD, meeting GD (for ex. the Aussies of course) .. I agree that a feminine voice would be great once in a while... My favourite episodes were without a doubt the ones where J'net, Katie, Aska were participating.. Also love that Tony is now a regular member!! British English does turn me on. I also think that in the "song of the week" discussion you guys should not only give your opinion, thoughts, and interpretation but also read your favourite(s) post(s) on the song thread. I (and I think other members too) don't really have time to read all of them, but when I do read the threads, I find out some really great/interesting interpretations, stuff I have never thought of. It's always great to hear the other's views on the songs. Another suggestion, which I think you have talked about before, is to have interviews with 'Green Day people' who, you could possibly get in touch with, not like the actual band 'cause that might be a little too impossible, but maybe John Roecker (about HLAHG for example), Larry Livermore (for additional cool factoids and just 'cause I really enjoy to read what he has to say about GD), some of GD's tour crew... Well, you got the idea. Oh oh, more WTF e-mails please! (one every episode would be fantastic, like WTF e-mail of the week hahah) Well, sorry for such a long text, but I really want 'Static Noise' to be up there on the top in the next Podcast awards I've been listening to it since the beginning and I have to admit I didn't like half of the episodes, but I always had hope they would get better in time, and they did! Congrats guys... (Still a long way to go to reach some podcasts, like my favourite one, MuggleCast! )
Fiona? Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Also, get Billie, Mike, or Tre on the podcast for an episode or two! If you got at least one of them to guest star for an episode, you guys would get way more listeners and all the listeners on GDA/GDC would LOVE IT.

captain peroxide Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Yeah, I was gonna say. You tell us how we're supposed to get them on there.
Fiona? Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Don't get me wrong, I understand that that getting the band on the podcast is WAY easier said than done. But it's not impossible. Here's my idea: Well, one of the guys has probably at least heard of GDA before. And I know a bunch of team members have talked to a few of the guys. Has anyone asked if Billie, Mike, or Tre would be OK with being interviewed? If not, you could try to contact them. (Which would also be pretty hard, but you never know) Plus if anyone on the forum ever even MET one of the guys, they could pull out a videocamera/recorder or something and ask a few questions that they usually don't get asked. That recording could get played on Static Noise. The interview doesn't necessarily have to be live, I mean, that would be great, but a pre-recorded interview would be awesome as well. It could happen . . .
lastnightonGDA Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 very unlikely. If you meet one of them, it's probably only going to be for a few minutes tops. I mean, he only stayed at the gdc meet-up party for what, half an hour? It's just so unlikely...
captain peroxide Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Yeah, there's no way we'd have time to get anything more than a quick soundbite.
Fiona? Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Eh, worth a shot. it'd be awesome to have them on the podcast, but more unlikely than i expected. A girl can dream . . .
captain peroxide Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get them on somehow. I just don't see it happening.
greendaytone Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get them on somehow. I just don't see it happening. Ya never know, not many of us saw them coming to our party... The major obstacle i'd see is the fact that we're not the official site.
Fuzz Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 It's not impossible, just not something I think we're going to focus on right now. I have plans for something later in the year, or maybe next year. I'm not in a rush to get them on the podcast just for the sake of talking. I'd rather wait for a while to do something more meaningful.

It would probably be easier to get them on around this time before they go in the studio to start recording or go on tour. But of coarse, still be a bit hard to get them on.

Olive. Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Get rid of the hosts. Kidding! I think the show should have more fun into it. Sometimes, I sit there and think, 'What the fuck...'
Little Girl Little One Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Get rid of the hosts. Kidding! I think the show should have more fun into it. Sometimes, I sit there and think, 'What the fuck...' What do you mean, more fun in it? They're always joking around, there's the WTF emails, the Guess The Song game... There's plenty of fun stuff.
Jaymee!! Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 A female voice definitely needs to be added. As well as guests. It'd be like the weekly interview, but in audio form...obviously. Seriously, I dunno. I've never been much of a podcast listener, and I've only ever listened to a few of the Static Noise ones, so I'm not very good for judgement. But definitely bringing on guests is a sure-way to kick things up a notch.

I agree with having guests on to shake things up with different opinions and such, but I don't really see the point of interviewing people on the show if we're already doing the video interviews. It seems a bit redundant (no reference intended, haha).
Fuzz Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 I 've never really found the idea of interviews (with other fans) too intriguing for the show. If anything, I think it'd be better to bring on more guests from the forum, and aside from a few questions to introduce them to the listeners, just have them throw their two-cents in on whatever topics we're talking about.
