M1KEY Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Tony (Greendaytone) needs a better quality microphone He now has one. As do I. ok this is not a suggestion, but a question. where are episodes 21 and 22, they're not on the list on itunes and I cant listen to them here, it says file not found ,,,, I put them up my butt and now you have to go find them. Actually, that's a good question, I didn't know there was a problem. I hope Andres or Matt can correct that very soon for you.

Fuzz Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 We hit our monthly quota for storage, so I had to take 2 shows down in order to put the new one up. Sucks, I know. We'll be upgrading our hosting solution very soon. (I think Ep 13 is also missing).
gdpony Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 ohhh ok that sucks, I guess I'll have to skip to episode 23 then.
B.Good Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I just wanted to let you guys know that I really enjoy the podcasts. In fact, they inspired me to get active in the forums again. Its really nice to hear a good chat between green day fans on everything from green day to non-green day. I know its been brought up before but I think it'd be cool to have a member of the forum on to just chat. So you can put a voice to a username you know? I was reading back a bit and noticed someone mention whether the podcast was more GDA or more GDC. I think its a bit of both right now but I really enjoy both the latest news of green day as well as the on-and-off topic chats of fans. I was thinking that you could have like a 5 to 10 minute section called "GDC Chat" or something where one or two members can come on and join the convo. That way, you got both the GDA aspect in the news topics aswell as the GDC aspect in the segment plus it makes it more interactive for the listeners.

The big issue there is the number of people we have talking in the conversation. Having 4 regular hosts right now can be a bit of a stretch in itself, and then there's the editing, which is a timely process for Matt every week. Also, we would need to ensure a guest knows exactly what to do to record their own audio, as we are each responsible for our own, so they need to have one of the programs required to do so, they must know how to use it and be able to export the file, which will be a large one, then it needs to get to Matt, and must be edited in. Rather than randomly adding a guest to the podcast, we like to invite a GDC member here and there with a story to tell, someone who was in attendance of an event that was newsworthy, or has a great experience meeting the band or getting to perform or something along those lines. We have enough chit chat between the hosts, so when we bring in a guest, it's much better for the listeners if they have a unique and exciting experience to share.

I had no idea how you guys actually recorded the show. I kinda assumed you had someone record a skype call or whatnot. Knowing that now, I can see how it could easily become a pain in the ass especially having to send the huge audio files. Thanks for responding, by the way. The mix is really well done and now I know why. I know what a bitch sound editing/mixing can be so the work is much appreciated.

I don't know where we'd be without Matt (or Alex, when he does the show). As it stands, we don't have any real way to properly record the conversation between everyone together, we can only do it individually. We all have to wear headphones or headsets because if not, we end up recording an echo of everything. We do a Care Bear countdown at the beginning of every show so that when Matt gets all the files later on, he has something to sync to. Having to go through the process of explaining it all to a new person each week would be time consuming, and we're lucky to get a couple of hours in a week where we are all free to record as it is. LOL But hey, I became a regular, then Taylor did a few shows, and now the luscious Tony is a member... so who knows what will happen over time. And in all this inevitable downtime that's looming, we will all be craving for something new, so if people have a great story to share, then there's no reason we wouldn't be able to have guests from time to time. It would just be a bit much every week.
Satan Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Can you make "WTF emails" a regular segment every week. or did you run out of emails? Awesome job BTW
pasalaska Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 How about insted of or along with 'work out the drum track', you guys play part of a song backwards and we have to try and work it out?

M1KEY Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I have a suggestion to the fans: Tony is being a jerk to me about having more fans on his Facebook page than me, so I've decided to give one of MY fans the GREEN DAY FULL THROTTLE can I had put aside for Tony, IF I get to 200 fans before he does. If you'd like to help me out and maybe get Tony's beautiful Full Throttle can featuring Green Day, click below and "Like": http://www.facebook.com/pages/M-1-K-E-Y/176168675739453
lastnightonGDA Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I feel like the podcast is really male dominated and a female voice should be added.
Fuzz Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 We've had a few guests that have been female. Truth is, it's mostly guys because I just happen to know these individuals the most. Not really something done intentionally. Plus, I think our gay jokes are better because of it.
Sarcasm Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Try to make something funny, like a standard entertainment radioshow, like a contest or something. Or fans can send in oneliners, and you'll read the funniest ones, funfactstuff..? :3
Fiona? Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Lots of GD stories. And more WTF emails, they are the BEST!!
