Mar Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Ooh, apparently a fan was talking to Stark Sands at the stage door and he said the cast would be performing both American Idiot and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. Ooh, exciting! Stark is so cool to the fans, from what I hear. I will either forget about these or tomorrow's Breaking Bad finale. I hope, if anything, it's the latter, since that will re-air!
Moffie Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 One of the actors in the dress rehearsal today is tweeting some stuff that's going on. He's apparently watching Green Day's stand-in band and hopes they show up. Apparently they're not there yet....They'll be there.

Their show probably got over at like 3:00pm US time yesterday and probably will get to NYC soon. Then they need to sleep haha.

But a bunch of Broadway actors/bloggers think not showing is unprofessional and kind of being bitchy in an indirect way which I understand as an actor but as a GD fan.... They just had a show YESTERDAY in AUSTRIA. I would blow it off, anyways. I don't think some of those people are their cup of tea.

No I don't think they are either but, they have to represent themselves to the people who don't really know who they are/don't care that they are "rock stars", you know? They won't give them special treatment just because of their successes. And their musical is the one up for the awards.

It's just weird to have my musical theatre side and my Green Day side collide, you know? It somewhat contradicts and Green Day aren't typical "rock stars" in my eyes. They wouldn't NOT go like other people just because they didn't want to be there early. But eh. I just hope none of the guys end up hitting their head on a heavy piece of scenery like it happened to Bret Michaels last year. I am crossing my fingers. EDIT: I hope that makes sense. I am lacking in the sleep department right now.
plaid ducky Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Here's a picture of the cast at dress rehearsal. I'm going to guess BOBD. Bunks my earlier theory. Hehm... http://twitpic.com/1wgtyo
Jacob. Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Are Green Day preforming separately from the cast? if so, what song? (If anyone knows)
alaniluau Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I don't get CBS, so I need to see if I can find a good live stream of this.

Hehm... http://twitpic.com/1wgtyo Yes they are playing BOBD. And also American Idiot according to an article I read online... but I cannot remember which one Hopefully no 21 Guns. I LOVE the song but its getting kinda old since that's kinda the only song they play outside of the musical
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Actually, what time does it start? And more specifically, is it announced when they (the cast and/or Green Day) will be performing? I haven't really been actively following this thread, I caught some loose bits so idk how much of it is true (something about Chase and Christina doing something with opening the show or something?)

It's on at 8:00pm Eastern (US Time). And as far we know, the band and the cast will be performing separately. The cast will perform AI and BOBD. That is all I know. I think we should Tweet one of the cast members and ask when they will be performing.

This picture confirms that they're performing BOBD, but when... That's the question. Also, with all the Best Musical nominees, if the show wins, they'll be performing Good Riddance, per another tweet: http://tweetphoto.com/27060278

Ok, thanks Then I'm just gonna wait for tomorrow for updates. Yeah, I knew that they were performing American Idiot. This picture confirms that they're performing BOBD, but when... I'd like a good recording of Good Riddance.

I'm thinking that if they have taken the time to make that background and practice the song then they know they have already won "Best Musical". But, that's just a thought.
jetsrule128 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Most Likely 2 of american idiot awards will be in this so just a heads up Broadway.com to Air Creative Arts Awards on Tony Night Bummed that the three-hour Tony Awards telecast on CBS will only air the announcement of 11 of this year’s 26 categories? Then click onto Broadway.com at 7PM on Sunday, where you can watch the Tony Awards Creative Arts Awards streamed live from Radio City Music Hall an hour before the show. Hosted by 2009 Tony winners Gregory Jbara (Billy Elliot) and Karen Olivo (West Side Story), the Creative Arts Awards typically honor more behind-the-scenes Tony categories including Best Choreography, Best Original Score, Best Book of a Musical and the eight design categories.

All of the musicals who are nominated rehearsed, so it's not an indication if they're going to win or not.

I didn't mean it like that.... but NVM because I can't explain my thought pattern haha Wonder what song they'll preform.... I think it would make sense to perform something that is in the musical. And it would also make sense to play their current single (LOTAG)
gdpony Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I hope they perform something with a lot of energy to get the crowd pumped! Im excited! ...I hope they surprise us!
Vrock09 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I hope they perform something with a lot of energy to get the crowd pumped! Im excited! ...I hope they surprise us! Agreed I just hope to God they dont play 21 Guns!!!!
MassHysteria Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 More photos of Green Day at the Dress Rehearsal up at Idiot Buzz: http://www.idiotbuzz.com/news/green-day-rehearses-for-tony-awardsBased on Billie's guitar in the pics, I don't think its going to be 21 Guns, so no worries there
