Sanity Loan Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 If I was their business manager, I would be very much advising them to go. If I was there manager, brother or friend I would tell them they are nuts. It's not healthy. That said, they are not necessarily dependent on commercial airline flight schedules but yeah, absolutely nuts. They have SOOOO much to promote right now. Rock Band, The Musical, the tour. Poor guys. It's gonna stop being fun and they will burn out if they keep doing stuff like this. Can't BELIEVE they are actually flying over. Ha. Yeah its crazy but kudos to them. They love what they do and they are having fun with it it seems. They seem to really like the musical stuff so I can see why they are doing this. Plus, I would think that they could afford their own flight back and forth so they could go when they want.... but I'm not sure of that.
Mar Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 This is Tre on Chicago radio this morning and he confirms they are flying in: Tre on WTMX confirming Tony visit Excellent, thanks for sharing!
**nobodylikesyou** Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Goodness gracious, its not that crazy. This is a BIG deal for them. Of course they are going to be there. They have a few days off afterwards to sleep.
Mar Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I'm sure they're used to jet lag by now, I'm sure they'll be fine.
farley drexel hatcher Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Oh come on, I know it's tough but it's not like they do it often (not anymore - not flying in and out that quickly). They're healthy guys and they have an eight hour or so journey to sleep in, and however many days after to rest before flying back out. This is a huge deal for them and not something they're going to want to miss because "it's unhealthy".
norcalgreendayfan Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 It's times like this where a Concorde jet would come in handy.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Have you ever been on a tour? It's not even a little crazy. It's quite. Veterans or not, they are being rung ragged, trust me on this one. Touring, even linearly is a hard thing. You throw a trip over the pond right in the middle of it to NY and well, you know. no ive never personally been on a world tour, but I did fly around alot to see them last year, including a trip to England. All I am saying is I think they will be able to handle it just fine. I did, and I wasn't even used to it like they are. GDM Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Yes it is a lot, that's for sure. But they also had a lot of down time between the last leg of the tour and the start of this one. They were pretty stationery for like three months, with trips back and forth to California. I also think that they absolutely want to be at the Tonys, and there was probably no talking them out of it at all. The break in their European tour schedule has been there for a long time, at least since the European tour was firmed up. They knew they were going to come for a long time, I think. It's crazy, but they'll be ok.
Mar Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Let's put it this way, I don't think they're going to overwork themselves like Lady Gaga
**nobodylikesyou** Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 ^if she would just not answer her telephone, she would be fine.
lizziebix Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I just can't imagine that they wouldn't get there come hell or high water. This is the Tonys. This is Broadway. This is an amazing time for them. They wouldn't miss it no matter where they were in the world. (I know I wouldn't if I was in their position.)

I used to do 9 hour bus rides all the time from Buffalo to NYC this year, sometimes only to stay home in NY for a day or two. I mean theres no time difference, but still. Its not impossible. I'm so glad they're gonna be there

(I know I wouldn't if I was in their position.) i like that they are gonna haul ass across the ocean to be there for it. reminds me of the times this year that ive hauled ass to see something special the green day boys have done. good for them to be there to celebrate and honor what they have accomplished.
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Am I the only one that doesn't really mind either way as to what they do ?
†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 wow, it's mystery..maybe there are 2 BJA!??!?!? wow it would be an amazing discovery! XD anyway..maybe he just has the ubiquity ability! XD
farley drexel hatcher Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Am I the only one that doesn't really mind either way as to what they do ? I think the general idea is that it's a really big deal and people are pleased for them to be there. The Tonys are like, the theatre equivalent to the Oscars. It would be like being nominated for best film, and not turning up.

plaid ducky Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Here's the official announcement: The high-energy cast of American Idiot, the Tony-nominated musical inspired by the 2004 Green Day punk album of the same name, will belt out their show's title tune, and the rock group Green Day will also lend their talents to the evening. They're big boys now, they can look after themselves.

Abbey. Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Am I the only one that doesn't really mind either way as to what they do ? this thread is called BILLIE JOE PERFORMING AT THE TONYS. if you dont care then dont post. we care and are enjoying the discussion. peace.

Hermione Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 ^Agreed. Pretty sure they're capable of deciding whether or not they're up to the trip without us worrying about it.
