So, my friends and I wemt to the red carpet outside of Radio City before the awards. Poruing rain but we managed. They put the barricades across the street so couldn't talk to anyone but we saw the boys do the red carpet thing and waved to all of us.

After everyone was inside, we headed to Times Square to watch on the Jumbotron. Amazing to see the performances in HD on such a huge screen. Everyone loved the performances with BOBD, Holiday, and KYE. God, Gallagher when he introduced Green Day. Heart him to bits.

The crowd loved Billie's intro. I was cracking up the entire time. And I liked AI, too. The camera angles drove me crazy at certain points, though.

Both Kevin Adams and Christine Jones had amazing and touching speeches. Sadly, Best Musical wasn't in the cards. You saw the cast, though, backsatge ready to do Good Riddance, too.

After the telecast was over, we headed to the St. James where the cast arrived about 15 minutes later. They all kind-of knew that they weren't going to win but they were so happy to see us. They were still in costume and still with their mics. Most stopped to talk to us and gave us hugs. We told them how much support they had from the fans and that they totally stole the show. They were all so sweet. I heart them so much. :D

And that's my Tony evening. Time for bed. LOL.

everyone at the tony party i was at started laughing hysterically when gd came onstage, then remarked how the previous snippets seemed dull. cue knowing grin.

Ah I did the opposite with some people. Went to the back of radio city, saw them there earlier, went to the theater, saw the cast leave right before the show, went to the end of the red carpet and saw will smith, then to time square then back to the theater and saw the cast/gd leave.

So I just read the other pages, and now I know AI won two awards, and they performed BOBD, and Holiday and KYE with Green Day. Great! I kinda thought they would play LOTAG, but at least they didn't do 21 Guns now, haha. And Billie was so cute doing that speech! He did a pretty good job actually, I smiled the whole time xD

Wow I'm speechless about their performance! I'm just gonna say AWESOME!!!

I love how the audience is enthusiast and the girl towards the end (I didn't recognize her =/) who sees that the camera is on her and who says an "Amazing!" cracks me up!

BJ's speech is so cute! "Hello! How are you? Hi, up there!" haha He never forgets anyone!

Ooh, so the band did get interviewed on the red carpet, by Broadway.com at least:

Yep! That's Lea Michele (better known as Rachael Berry) from 'Glee'.

I read somewhere that she's dating Theo from the 'American Idiot' musical. She was in Michael Mayer's 'Spring Awakening' with some of the cast of 'American Idiot' a few years ago actually.

I missed this from earlier, thank you! :D

(And this is OT, but for those who participated in the spam thread today, I just LOVE how the final post in the spam thread, besides Dai's, is me discussing my bladder. Awesome. And embarrassing.)

Thanks Matt!
