He said that marriage was a pure institution that needed to be saved from homosexuals, and that a party that needs people to be pure isn't a party to be in. I found that a bit ironic.

oh, i get it now (thanks eirik)... and because of that we don't get our Billie's interview?

Yeah, seems like it. I read that entire interview to see the questions that were picked, and there weren't really that many interesting ones. The Dalai Lama got one funny one though.

Wtf, is this guy legally retarded or something... Excerpt from Charlie Crist's interview, btw.

Why don't you support same-sex marriage?— Rick Kerby, ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.

I've always felt that marriage is a traditional [thing] between a man and a woman. If you want to have couples or partners who want to reside together [in civil unions], I don't have a problem with that. It's also important that you have a live-and-let-live attitude as regards adoption. I've always supported civil unions, but I think marriage in the traditional sense is what I believe in.

I am a liberal Republican. Is there room in the party for me?— Jeffrey Hersh, COLUMBUS, OHIO

There should be. When you get to a point where a party says, "If you're not pure" — whatever that means — "then you're not good enough to be in the party anymore," that's not a good place to be.

....Aaaand that's why I'm leaving Florida ASAP.

 Yeah, and the Teaparty was actually a great movement. Not a bunch of obnoxious people running in the streets, waving "Don't Tread on Me" flags. Fine, then I'll run you over.

He's running for Senator, too.

/off-topic

I hope they pick interesting questions for Billie and not the same ones over and over again. Yes, American Idiot was a great album. I think we've explored many aspects of that by now.

That's cool that they asked the Dalai Lama some funnier questions. :)

They'll probably choose some like that for Billie's interview. I was hoping that Time wouldn't be too serious in picking the questions.
