Micky Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 And mine. Anyway I don't think the ones who said that they don't want When it's Time to be a single are greedy, it's just that they're related with the song in an emotional way and they don't want the song to become trite. I personally miss the times when Green Day where overplayed. This said, I don't think that WIT will become a big success, it just hasn't the power of WMUWSE or Good Riddance, and I don't see it suiting for the radio airplay . Anyway, I hope to be disproved by the facts. exactly
SexyBIbiatch Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I dont like to judge ppl and put it together in one big pile. But I BET that the anoying (not all of them but most of them) teenagers will be preaching to this song, and I seriously dont care, but what annoys me is ''OMFG BILLIE JOE IS SO AWESOME I LOVE HIM, GD IS THE BEST BAND EVERRR, OH I KNOW SO MUCHO ABOUT MUSIC'' that kind of thing. Thanks god I dont have to hear that anymore I'm a grown up now XD. So Im not surrounded by them.
The Breakdown Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I'm going to find out through my extensive contacts whether or not When It's Time will be released in New Zealand as a single. /semi-related to the thread. Like anyone really cares.
matteo263 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 who knows? maybe we might get amusic video for this
Jacob. Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 If there would be a video, It should be like Good Riddance.
Trina Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 This. A single is put out to be PLAYED. "Overplaying" of a song is the best thing that could happen to it. Yup. I don't mind it being played a lot. I actually think that's quite cool but ... idk. It's hard to explain. When it's played constantly by people who would never listen to Green Day if the song wasn't popular or anything, I get annoyed. I shouldn't but it just happens. They don't feel the real ~connection and will lose interest once it's off the charts. To me that is not what a song is supposed to do. Yes, but isn't that how most people come to be a fan of a band? I mean, for example, how did you find out about Green Day? I'm assuming because of them being played on the radio or a tv channel. Some people might feel a huge connection to the song, bigger than even your average fan would but they might never become a fan or like any other Green Day music. it doesn't mean the connection wasn't there. Some people will become fans after hearing this song, most wont and will forget about it. But it's better to focus on the few people who'll become fans, no? I dont like to judge ppl and put it together in one big pile. I mean....seriously. I'm sorry, but you can't just make a judgement like that against such a diverse group, like teenagers. You seem a lot more annoying and immature that most teens on here. You don't seem grown up anyways and you're only one year past being a teenager at most so...
Elissa. Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 That's pretty cool. Though I haven't heard it here in America yet. I really wouldn't mind if this song was overplayed, but at the same time it would kind of lose its meaning. I mean, there will be people who connect with the song, and then there will be people who only think it's catchy and pay no attention to the lyrics/meaning of the song. It's an unavoidable thing really.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 last time I'm gonna come back on this (well, I hope so anyway), I don't want it not to be out and heard, but I'm always torn on things like this. I want it both to be out and heard by people, and to not lose it's special thing. Some people might feel a huge connection to the song, bigger than even your average fan would but they might never become a fan or like any other Green Day music. it doesn't mean the connection wasn't there. Maddy was talking about people who will forget the song after it's off the charts. That's not the same as the situation you described.
pisquano Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 I can confirm that When It's Time is a single also in the UK (don't know the release date) but it's on the radio 1 playlist. And I find it strange, because LOTAG is going to be released June, 14th... Two singles in less than a month...things are a bit complicated... Anyway the source is Buzzjack Playlist 19/05/10
pisquano Posted June 13, 2010 Author Posted June 13, 2010 While searching something else, I found the cover art of When It's Time on iTunes UK....You should go to see it, it's particular and far from the ones from 21st Century Breakdown...
pisquano Posted June 13, 2010 Author Posted June 13, 2010 ^ I'm trying ...I don't know if it works, but....When It's Time Edit: it works!!
Holly Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 How did I completely miss that this is a single over here already? It was released June 11th so Friday? Maybe if I listened to the radio I would've heard it, its on the B List of Radio One's playlist so I've got a good chance of hearing it on there.
thisguy3496 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Does any one know if this was played in the US.
Sanity Loan Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Does any one know if this was played in the US. I have not heard it
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 ^ I'm trying ...I don't know if it works, but....When It's Time Edit: it works!! it's kinda creepy and cute at the same time. I don't find it very fitting for the song. If I see this cover I'd think of this song about how young children go to hell because of the environment and society they live in, how a cute little girl on the cover is victim of it and hence has a skull for a face. Kinda like 21stCB, actually I wouldn't think about a very cute sappy love song.
Sanity Loan Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Someone who has a UK iTunes account should do the following to get the artwork in higher quality: 1) Edit the info of the When It's Time song in your iTunes library to have the album be "When It's Time - Single" 2) If there is artwork with the song, delete it 3) Right click on the song and click "Get Album Artwork" 4) Click on the Artwork and take a screen shot 5) Upload it somewhere and post it here
pisquano Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 Just found this on an Italian website: <<...E se non tutti i fan dei Green Day avranno la fortuna di godersi lo spettacolo, per il momento una delle principali “attrazioni” della Grande Mela, il nuovo album dei loro beniamini entrerà senza dubbio nella collezione di ciascuno. Complice, va detto, il nuovo singolo di Billie Joe Armostrong, Mike Dirnt e Tré Cool intitolato “When It’s Time" e proprio in questi giorni al suo debutto radiofonico globale...>> To translate and make a resumé, it says that When It's Time will debut everywhere on the radio Here's the source (it's in Italian) radio 105 I have some doubts, but let's see what will happen...

It better wait to be released globally until "Last of the American Girls" has run its course. It's doing great as a single right now.... why push another one? It would make no sense..... but I guess it wouldn't be surprising since the whole singles thing from 21CB has been a mess.

I definitely agree with you...but the whole thing is too complicated, I don't know what is Reprise doing...Last Of The American Girls is doing well in the US, is something like #20 on the German Airplay Chart, it could be a success Here in Italy it has never been played (only a few times) and the same for the UK...and in these two countries When It's Time is getting airplay and doing well too (it's on the B-list of Radio 1 in the UK and something like #55 on the Italian Airplay Chart)....it seems that Reprise sent two songs to radio stations and every single country decided which song radios would have played!
