Caractériel Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Yea, I see TheEulogy is from Russia. I actually maybe doubt that Joan Jett is very well known there, so on second thought, let's cut her a break. I'm sure there are a lot of legends in Russia that I don't know about, too. The Eulogy: look her up, she (and the Blackhearts) are amazing! Yeah I just saw that too, that's fair enough really And I second the recommendation.
GDM Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Yeah I just saw that too, that's fair enough really And I second the recommendation. And the Runaways! Can't forget about them, either!
Bubbles. Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Not too familiar with his music, but he sounds pretty cool I guess.
Ally Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Who is this Frank Turner dude? I have never heard of him...guess i will have to go find some of his music and give him a listen EDIT: ok, i'm on his Myspace, i can't say i'm in love with his music, but i guess its ok
punkfunkdisco Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Ooh, interesting. Thanks for link Bexie, I'd never heard of him. He sounds good, a nice bouncy kind of music to get us warmed up for JJ and GD.
Hermione Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I just listened to some of his songs on his myspace, not my cup of tea. Looking forward to Joan Jett though!
Metanoia Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 i havent heard of this at all before but i listened to a few things and its pretty good music
Solitary One Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Frank Turner is fucking awesome. Just thought I'd state my opinion on the matter. I wish Frank Turner would support GD in the fucking US
Conspiracy. Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Just listened to some of his songs, and I have to say, I'm not that impressed. Idk, he's alright but I'd prefer other bands to support.
Juliette Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Been listening to him and I quite like him The start of Reasons Not To Be An Idiot sounds like a GD song, I just can't put my figner on which one... maybe Scumbag ?

mitzymoo Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 At first though meh never heard of him listened to some of his stuff and i really like him
marta_gs Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 ^ same here! I'm listening to him right now and I'm really enjoying him, it will be interesting see him at wembley
Anja Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I have absolutely no clue who this guy is. Same. Why didn't they choose someone that's famour ALL OVER the world? I hate being at shows and not being able to sing along.
Homicidal_llama Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Same. Why didn't they choose someone that's famour ALL OVER the world? I hate being at shows and not being able to sing along. I'm sorry but that is the stupidest statement I've ever heard. What, so you only watch live bands to 'sing along'? Why not just listen to your ipod instead? Either way though Frank Turner happens to be incredibly good sing along music. Why not check out something you don't know instead of 'famous' bands because 90% of the time they aren't the best. I completely respect the choices Green Day have made for these support acts. They could have easily gone with some poor imitation pop-punk band but they've gone with muscians who are completely different and very very good.

I did'n want to say smth bad about her. I belive you're right and she's cool
Nobody_Likes_You Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 You suckers man, I got into him like a year ago or so, and now you england people get to see him before Green Day. That's like a perfect show. His music is sooo great

I also don't like it when I see a band live and can't sing along, what's so wrong with that? I enjoy singing along, of course, that's not the only factor I enjoy while being at a concert... no need to say it's "the stupidest statement".

Did you even read my whole post or were you just blinded by the first sentence? I'm sorry if it offended though.
Jaymee!! Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I listened to his stuff after I found out about this last week, and I have to say while I DO enjoy it quite a lot, I don't understand how his music is going to fit into the fast pace of all the other bands. I mean yeah, punk folk okay, but his music is so...mellow...in comparison. Oh well, props to him and congrats on getting the spot!
Trina Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Same. Why didn't they choose someone that's famour ALL OVER the world? I hate being at shows and not being able to sing along. I'm glad that they've chosen someone less well known but I do agree that I hate being at shows and not being able to sing along. I'm not fully sure why but it's just more comfortable and fun to sing a long.
Hermione Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 ^ People can always listen to some of the support act's stuff beforehand if they wanna be more familiar with it for the concert. I did that with Prima Donna last year. That only works if you enjoy the support act's music enough to want to listen to it though of course, which I don't in this case haha.
