Hermione Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 It's Fuck Time would never be on a Green Day album, it's a Foxies song they just made to amuse the musical cast, a bit of fun. I'm hoping they'll randomly put out a recorded version for a laugh some time (or maybe on a new Foxies album if we're really lucky). There's nothing in the article to indicate it has anything to do with GD's next album. Actually, he said that they will "definitely" do something like a rock opera again. Although I agree that he may not be referring to the next album, I am wondering if you know that "certainly" and "definitely" are synonyms... Yeah but even though he said definitely it wasn't exactly a serious promise, it was a throwaway comment. To me it just seems like he's responding to a question in an optimistic, open-to-anything way. He's just being positive. I wouldn't take anything from it.

I agree, and I think they do that a lot, especially when the questions kind of jump the gun. Cause, really, who knows what they will come up with next? I think anything they come up with, or may be working on now, will continue to evolve until it really represents where they are, artistically and at that point they'll let us know what to expect, content wise. For now, I'm just happy they're still makin' music and I'll take it as it comes!
Brian Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I'm hoping for a Foxboro album before any Green Day album. And I don't think its a wise move to depend too much on the rock opera format. They got lucky twice with it, but you can only go so far with it.
Alan86 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 When I first Heard that 21st Century Breakdown was another rock opera, I got this feeling that there next album might be a rock opera too. Kind off like a Trilogy of rock operas ( AI, 21stCB and Next album") I dont care what they choose to do. If they want to do another rock opera or just a selection of great song, either is fine with me
Katarina. Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I hadn't noticed this thread until now, lol. But great little fact about It's Fuck Time! I'm not thinking about the new record actually. This is the 21CB era after all I love Green Day, and as long as they keep doing what they want, and keep writing and making songs they like, it's great. Rock Opera, non-opera.. It's Green Day, and their music is always awesome imo
Malleus Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 A trilogy of rock operas would be cool. I think the next album is going to be a rock opera again, and I don't really care about it. As long as it's good, right?
iwroteholdencaulfield! Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 so maybe we'll get lucky and the new album will be like Green Day and Foxboro Hot Tubs mixed together? GD + FHT = songs like Horseshoes & Hand Grenades so i am very happy to hear about this! U got that wrong, its: GD + FBHT= BEST ALBUM EVER!!!
Mar Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 I can just picture him saying that whole quote with a sly grin on his face, and it's making me laugh
