GreenDayisAmazing Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I met Ruben, well actually I saw him posting something about Green Day on my local radio stations Myspace. So I started talking to him and he’s a huge Green Day and Foxboro Hot Tubs fan!!! But he is also on GDC too!!! I love GDC people here know how it feels to be obsessed with Green Day. I love talking about Green Day as much as I can!!!
norcalgreendayfan Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I'm Glad to have hsd the GDC to meet some awesome people with you being one of them ChelleBelle and getting to meet some of the awesome GDCers at the SAN JOSE show last summer as well as at the PHGP show at Gilman back in February. I cant wait for the Irvine and Chula Vista shows to see some more awesome people from here.
LadyPeacemaker20 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I met Jerry, the dude that posted above me, through Green Day. Well technically through his then girlfriend but Green Day is what really got us close. He's my best friend and big brother. Love ya Jerry!
CrimsonRegret Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I'm still pretty new around here.. kind of. But the small amount of people I have met so far, I owe it to GDC! Without this place, I would still be the one without any Green Day friends. Meet up's and Gilman.. and summer shows too [i hope].
TheChildrenThatGlow Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Wow, I can relate to this soooo much. No one I know loves....or even likes....Green Day where I am. They all think I'm a loser when I start to talk about a funny Green Day moments. I have met some wonderful people on this website that are really fun to talk to and shit. And they don't say "You're a fucking loser for liking that shit". I love Green Day......and THAT will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER........ok, I can't breathe.......change!!
Comedy & Tragedy Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 If I mention the words "Green Day" to my friends, they just tell me to shut up and quit being obsessed. I love talking to everybody here. I remember meeting up with the Irish members a few weeks ago, and it was so great being able to talk about Green Day, GDC, and Marlay Park with amazing people who actually care about this stuff.
Micky Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I don't have any friend where I live that likes Green Day (or at least, as much as i do). But thanks to GDC I've met some of the most awesome people I've ever met in my whole life. There aren't many italians over here, but I had the chance to meet Elisa to our Green Day concert in Milan and I still think that has been one of the happiest day I'd love to meet also Roby, because we talk so much every day and because it's something that I feel I have to do. idk, I feel the little italian club on here should get together at least once But, apart from italian buddies, I've known so amazing girls and boys that I feel the luckiest girl alive xD Unfortunately I will probably never meet the most part of them (like Ashley, Jessie, Maddy, Agija, Lotte and a lot more) but who knows On the other hand, I'll meet Sven (another awesome person and way too important to me) this june and we'll spend this summer together. And of course I'll meet a lot more of cool GDCers in june so yes, I'm glad to be on GDC
Isabel Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I went to the Belfast, Dublin and two Manchester shows on my own and just met up with GDC people there. None of my friends like Green Day so it was amazing to finally have a chance to meet people who share the same, wonderful interest. I've met so many nice people from this forum Darren, Melanie, Trina, Jackie, Tony, J'net, Beth, Sharon, Kryssi, Jordan, Dorie, Becki, Glen, Rebecca.....*deep breath*.....Darren, Clare, Leanne, Kerry, Claire, Aoife, Gráinne, Laura, Ciara, Yvonne, Gill, Karla. And that list will be longer in June! I get to meet more Idiots and GDCers! Elin, Anja, Jaymee, Soo, etc. Ah, I love you all
jacknovella Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I met emmaILGD! Through this forum, and we've been together for almost 4 months now I love her Thanks, GDC.
Tashidge Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 One of my best friends in real life joined GDC a while ago [charlieissoawesomelike] and she's one of the only people who understand how much I love Green Day. My best friend doesn't like them but she understands that I'd do anything for that band. She knows that they've "saved" me more than once and she's actually grateful to them for doing that. The guys I met in the Rumour thread are just amazing and I miss them so much. For me, June can't come fast enough, it's when I'll be meeting some of the most amazing people ever. Mino, Nele, Sven, Kaddi, Kryssi, Rebecca, Jamie, Polly [who I'm so fucking stoked to see], Gemma, Anna, Hannes, the list goes on. Then there are the people who I won't see in June, the ladies in the Svengali in Color thread. Woody, Amanda, Ale and Angela. My Sixx, what an amazing group of people. Then there's the amazing Sara who will always put up with my ramblings about how awesome John Roecker is and such. Gah, you guys mean so much to me
Opezi Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 well i dont really have but one friend outside of GDC who likes to hear me talk about greeen day haha but ive met quite a few awesome people on here who are some of my closest friends. and im very happy for GDC its helped me find some people who shared a commeon interest as me and i love them all. yes truly GDC is my second family and its the best family <3
04rebhop Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 For me, June can't come fast enough, it's when I'll be meeting some of the most amazing people ever. Mino, Nele, Sven, Kaddi, Kryssi, Rebecca, Jamie, Polly [who I'm so fucking stoked to see], Gemma, Anna, Hannes, the list goes on. Aww thank you Tasha Sorry if my sort of spamming spamming/excitment about the stadium being on football games got on your nerves. [[You missed your husband off the list! ]] Anyway At the Birmingham show i saw a lot of GDCers but i was on my own and too shy to go up and say hi, because i was nervous about it being my first Green Day gigs. But in the que i was wondering if they had given out wristbands yet, and i asked the girl in front if they had, and we started talking in the que outside, and then when we got in side after all the pushing and shoving we were still standing next to each other before the band came on by the catwalk, so we started talking again for ages. When the gig started everyone moved and i lost her, so i never got to ask if she was on GDC. When i was on Youtube doing my Wembley V-logs about two months ago i got a message from the same person, and she explained that she was Tre_gina on here and we both hope to meet at the Wembley gig There is also all of my lovely friends on the Wembley topic. Tasha, Silvy, Sven, Jen, Mino, Nele, Matt, Jamie, Polly and Kryssi. There are lot more, sorry if i forgot you. I'm in sixth form, so it's nothing personal. I hope to meet all of these guys at Wembley stadium in June, and i can't wait.
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 i haven't got a friend who likes green day... thank god i found this place where i can talk about green day without being afraid of someone who may tell me to shut up... that's cool.. i haven't been friend with many guys in there, but the few of them that i have talked rock!
valentinesandcigs Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 All my best friends are on this site. I love them all so much. I am meeting quite a few of my friends this summer at the shows and I can honestly say that the friends I have on GDC kick the shit out of the friends I have in my school. I just connect with you guys so well and I don't wanna sound cheesy so i'll stop
Tre_Gina Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I don't really know anyone on this site but it feels like I do, especially the wembley thread people, it's strange how I feel I know them, it is so nice to be able to chat to people about Green Day without haveing to worry about what people say about me.
AnnA™ Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 This is another reason why I'm so grateful for this band. I don't really have any friends that are into Green Day. And so I was about 15 when I started to get online and find other Green Day fans. It wasn't on GDC though. I met this one girl who's a few years older than me. We're still great friends and chat every once in a while. We haven't met yet, only talked on the phone twice, but we've kind of agreed that we will meet someday. And we're both Swedes, so it wouldn't be difficult to arrange or anything. But it just hasn't happened yet. She and I were a part this group of people that ended up chatting together almost every night for a long time, so I made a couple of good friends there that I still talk to sometimes. None of these are as much Green Day fans as they used to be back then. I'm the only one who's stuck with the boys all this time. But I got to know them because of Green Day, and that means a lot. Since I started actually using my GDC account, I've come to love this place. I've talked mostly to people in the Ullevi/Munich/Wembley threads - people I'll meet in June. They're awesome people. It means a lot to have a place again where I don't have to shut up about the one band that means so much to me. Aw Can't wait 'til June. Feels like it's ages away. But eventually I'll meet quite many awesome GDCers.
boosho Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I met my best friends from GDC. They are amazing. I met the most amazing people on GDC.. RobyRoom Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I've meet Micky, Ashley, Elisa and Parinaz here And a lot of other awesome people. I don't have so many friends that like Green Day in real life
pasalaska Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I've never felt closer to anyone than the people I've met on here. It's more than just a friendship, it's almost like a family to me, the Aussie GDC idiots. It's gotten to the point where we're contemplating buying/renting a sharehouse together, and if it werent for other comitments and a lack of money I would do it without hesitation. The little Green Day in-jokes and the way our minds seem to all be on the same wavelength... it's incredible. I mean, for ordinary people, branding your friends ass while drunk is just a stupid thing to do. For Green Day fans, it's SO MUCH more hilarious and strangely meaningful. Even if it doesnt look anything like a crown... The fact that I live on the other side of the country to the majority of my GD family doesnt matter, we still all talk pretty much every day. More than I talk to my local friends. I'm so lucky I have 2 other die hard Green Day fans here in Western Australia. I'd die without those guys. I think this pretty much sums up this thread: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs218.snc3/22535_1336172601836_1156714854_31074419_1115788_n.jpg This was after the last Australian show (16th Dec) of the 2009 tour. And now I'm doing the Europe and American tour, I'm just gonna meet more amazing people who share my love for this band... that's something that can only be understood by other fans. I love this band. I met my best friends from GDC. They are amazing. ALEX
