Elissa. Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Haha, I love how Billie is all "y'know, the iPad....it's just....uh..." and then Tre just says "The iPad is stupid." I agree with the whole downloading music thing. I like to own albums physically, downloading them is so ...2-dimensional to me. I do like having iPods to put music on though, like I put my music from my CDs on my iPod so I can listen to them anywhere, but I don't really shop at the iTunes store very much.
Supermodel*Robot Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Oh my gosh, yes! Except I still think it's cute how Billie seems rather technologically impaired.
Bohemian+Scandal Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I just find it hard to pay for something that's not tangible. If I had payed for all the music that's on my computer I would probably have spent about 10,000 dollars on music. Billie Joe reminded me of the sad fate of books. Physical books will become obsolete soon. Environmentalists will support it for the paper saving of course so this will be encouraged. Soon books will simply be electronic signals. Read off an annoying screen! Not even books anymore. Just licensed stories. May as well read fanfic. No more feel or smell of the pages. And like music most people will just download a book for free. Ugh. This digital age honestly pisses me off. 2005 was about the good peak for me. It's been going downhill since and no new technology developments since have been overwhelmingly awesome for me. As in I could happily live without them. Just advancements that have pissed me off. Gah. Soon will all be plugged in to our walls and our brains will be microchipped.
heartscollide Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 "In short, the iPad is stupid." <3 Well said Tre. I couldn't agree more.
The Breakdown Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Tre, most of us were thinking it. Well done.
Clockwise Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I agree with them for sure, it's scary. But I'm too far gone, I couldn't live without this technology. I do think this could be viewed as an exciting time for music though, with all this "free" music out there for everyone to have. Though the death of the album is depressing, but that's why I collect vinyl.

I agree with every single word. It's incredibly depressing that traditions such as books and physical music are now just getting scrapped within only a couple years. I feel as if people are already plugged into the walls with their brains microchipped because people seem so utterly dependant on technology. It's like we're becoming a self fullfilled prophecy. Look at all the sci-fi movies that demonstrate what a crappy future it is with so much technology but at the same time it seems as if people are aspiring to get to that point.
The Disappearing Boy Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 funny. i don't even know what an ipad is!
Juliette Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Wtf is an ipad Green Day on technology. . . never gonna go well.
RobyRoom Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 Wtf is an ipad Green Day on technology. . . never gonna go well. http://www.apple.com/ Is it bad that if I had the money I would still buy it? /nerd But I totally agree on the opinions that have been exposed on this thread. I'm a big CDs buyer nonetheless. Edit: The guy from Techland answered to my request for infos and this is what he said: Hey there AfterTheLobotomy, We did the interview with Green Day on their Rock Band game last Friday but all of that material is embargoed until the end of May -- so check back then for more! They let us use the iPad clip only for now since it doesn't have anything to do with the game. Thanks, TECHLAND
idc Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 sooo, they're talking about how they hate all this technology - especially Apple/iPad .... anybody tell me what's the difference between and iPad and an iPhone? PLEASE DON'T SAY THE IPAD IS BIGGER, cause thats not the point^^ they're hating it, but Tré's got an iPhone^^ see here: [x] is it only talking but they don't really mean it ooor ... ?
lizziebix Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Oh my gosh, yes! Except I still think it's cute how Billie seems rather technologically impaired. And yet he mentioned at the afterparty that he checks out GDC all the time. So he must know more about computers than the lets on.
Bubbles. Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 That.was.awesome. The funny thing about these new.. Gadgets that keep getting put out, is that a lot of people are buying them just to figure out what the fuck it is. In short: the ipad is stupid. Legendddd.
Tubbie Head Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 And yet he mentioned at the afterparty that he checks out GDC all the time. So he must know more about computers than the lets on. He did say that he checks out GDC or GDA?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 And yet he mentioned at the afterparty that he checks out GDC all the time. So he must know more about computers than the lets on. GDC? Like, GDC, not GDA? can't help but be at least slightly quite excited at that =D
lizziebix Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 ^My mistake. I just rechecked J'net's post and it does say GDA. Sorry for the confusion.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Aw damn. Oh well, still nice (although not news)
idc Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 well actually i don't want the, to check out GDC. that would be SOOOO embarrassing xDD GDA is okay ^.^
lizziebix Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I found it odd though. It's such a natural jump from GDA to GDC. Especially if you read the comments with each new item.
idc Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 well the first two years of visiting GDA i didn't knew about GDC at all so ... idk. xD anyway - not the topic!
Micky Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 well actually i don't want the, to check out GDC. that would be SOOOO embarrassing xDD GDA is okay ^.^ errrr ... revealed pics thread? anyway ... loved the video
Elissa. Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 errrr ... revealed pics thread? I'd like to see Billie's reaction to that
