Red Lights Flash Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 The only song I'll really skip is Gloria? (Little Girl). Wow, a lot of See the Light hate. It's one of my favourites!
Guest dar89ren Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Ouch, so many of my faves are skipped! Haha, I'd say my -least- favourite song would have to be Maria... Dunno, I don't think I'd even skip it, but it's probably way down on my favourites list.
Greenday_Aussie Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Seeing so many See the Light responses has broken my heart. That is such an uplifting, epic, amazing song. Shame on all of you.
Tiffx Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Fuck all of you hating on See the Light. I always skip Rest on 1039/SOSH. I don't hate it but it's my least favourite.
Lithium Doll Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 come to think of it a lot of the songs on nimrod arent very good either
Maddy. Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 the music is mediocre at best... and calling an album a "rock opera" is a pretentious thing for any band to do, but when the music isnt even that good to begin with... lame radio pop/rock... it just totally sucks I respect your opinion. But I disagree when you say it's "a pretentious thing for any band to do". I've always admired Green Day for pushing themselves to try new things and experiment, and that's exactly what they've done with this record. I can't argue with you over what you think of the music because I won't change your mind. But to say that it was a pretentious thing to do isn't right, in my opinion. im not really into their look either.... billie joe with the black hair and eyeliner especially... i know he's trying to look like a cool rock star or something... but i think he looks like a lame dad trying to fit in at a my chemical romance show I don't see why looks have anything to do with music. come to think of it a lot of the songs on nimrod arent very good either I agree.
Hanna__ Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 ...I don't see why looks have anything to do with music. I definately agree with this.
Lithium Doll Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 it doesnt have anything to do with their music, but i still think the look is lame
Maddy. Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 it doesnt have anything to do with their music, but i still think the look is lame Fair point. But they're not going to change their "look". I was never a fan of the American Idiot uniform or his polka dot shirt. But I think Billie Joe still is able to pull this off. On other bands uniforms look silly, and I'm maybe being biased here but Green Day has a knack to make this kind of thing work in their benefit. Point is, they look good live and they sound good live. That's what I love. It's not as lame as it used to be. Polka dots > hot topic shit.
Tess_S Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I don't dislike any of their albums, but sometimes i don't want to listen some songs
Maddy. Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 I dislike 1.039 and Kerplunk. Nimrod and Warning are bearable. The rest = Although, I do skip f.o.d. more times than not.
valentinesandcigs Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 The uniforms are fucking stupid I know it has nothing to do with the music but I think its stupid. I agree with Maddy though the stuff they wear now isn't as stupid. I don't like rest at all its so boring.
Maddy. Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 The uniforms did sort of suit American Idiot. They looked spiffy. It was all a sort of package at the time. The music was great, they looked great, they even had matching outfits. What more would a teenie want?
valentinesandcigs Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 True I think for american idiot they wanted a theatrical look. Like MCR with the black parade. But now i don't really see the need for it. Considering the shows are a lot less strict and planned out.
Maddy. Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 True I think for american idiot they wanted a theatrical look. Like MCR with the black parade. But now i don't really see the need for it. Considering the shows are a lot less strict and a lot more fun. Yeah, because it was their theatrical comeback and it just looked shiny and polished. They looked like a brand new band. But I do see they've kind of stopped the whole 'let's match colours ' thing. Which I think is good. But I don't see them wearing Pinhead attire, like casual stuff.
Moz Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 LOTAG is the only green day song i even slightly dislike, i find it kinda lame... so tis annoying that it's the new single. Ah well :/
Tess_S Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 the music is mediocre at best... and calling an album a "rock opera" is a pretentious thing for any band to do, but when the music isnt even that good to begin with... lame radio pop/rock... it just totally sucks Ok you don't appreciate so much Green Day Song, melody or their looks,it's your opinion, but i don't see what's prententious to call an album " a rock opera ", i think it's not the way they wanted to people think about it. They try new thing not like with your example :my chemical romance who stays on the idea of suicide, blood , disease. Green Day had this styl i think before My chemical romance by the way.
Kayfabe Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I dislike 1.039 and Kerplunk. Nimrod and Warning are bearable. The rest = Although, I do skip f.o.d. more times than not. Now that is a sucker punch to the gut. Oh and for the record, Rest is awesome. So there. We don't need you anyway. But I don't listen to much 1039SOSH now that I think about it
Isabel Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I Was There is my all time least favourite song of Green Day's. Those lyrics are god awful.... and it's the one song penned by Kiffmeyer so I guess that's why... Haha, I'd say my -least- favourite song would have to be Maria... Dunno, I don't think I'd even skip it, but it's probably way down on my favourites list. those are all in my top faves. Misery is probably my favourite GD song. o.o How odd that your least favourite song is my favourite song and my least favourite song is your favourite song!
finksgirl Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I'm amazed at the amount of people that don't like Christian's Inferno. Right? I love it... I think that's because i love how similar to The Network it is. But then again, I was surprised by the amount of people I've seen here that don't like The Network much. @Isabel that is quite odd. XD Because those are the only 2 songs of their entire discography I'm 100% about.
Guest dar89ren Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 ^^ I find the Network is absolutely fantastic... Devo and Green Day is a great combo, lol Spike = <3
umbjisfhinefum Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 i don't care for extraordinary girl or christian's inferno...
Agija Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I don't think there is a song I dislike so much that I could call it my least favorite one. Although, I don't like some of their songs as much as the others, but none of them is that bad.
