deadair Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 The one that sticks out in my mind as least favorite is "Extraordinary Girl".
Isabel Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 A lot of people seem to dislike Extraordinary Girl but I much prefer it to She's a Rebel
ProstheticHeads Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 *fellow Take Back lover* I guess some people can't stand "harder" music. I love harder music, its just that...I don't see the appeal. The song itself isnt too bad, but I just can't get into it,
Metanoia Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 A lot of people seem to dislike Extraordinary Girl but I much prefer it to She's a Rebel yeah same here....i think extraordinary girl is actually pretty melodic and i think itzs better than shes a rebel....
Maddy. Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 I love both Extraordinary Girl and She's A Rebel. There's not a single song on American Idiot that I dislike. To even this out; there is not a single song on 1.039 that I really like in particular.

Kristina. Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Reading some of the answers hurts my heart. THIS!! I like every song, but Last Ride In isn't so important for me. And I usually skip American Idiot, because I heard it so many times...and unfortunately AI lost its magic for me.
Hermione Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 A lot of people seem to dislike Extraordinary Girl but I much prefer it to She's a Rebel I'd like them about the same amount if it wasn't for that phrase "extraordinary girl in an ordinary world". I've just heard that phrase used so many times before that I can't get past how cliched it is. I love the song apart from that though.
justcause Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I'd like them about the same amount if it wasn't for that phrase "extraordinary girl in an ordinary world". I've just heard that phrase used so many times before that I can't get past how cliched it is. I love the song apart from that though. For me, one of Billie Joe's great gifts is to take the words that have become cliched and examine them, place them in such a way that they become new. A word like 'extraordinary' - in an era when superlatives are bandied about to such an extent that they lose any value - is so un-glossy, textbook, back to the basic meaning of something outside of ordinary experience. Sung with this mystical, wistful feeling, Extraordinary Girl leaps into focus for a moment, then the 'ordinary' backround drags her down, extraordinary/ordinary blurring her identity as the words melt into each other.

pop disaster Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 "Rest"(however, i feel guilty for saying i don't like any green day song ) when i first listened to " take back" was like... ....and then i loved it!!! i was going to my friends like..."i'd love to break your fuckin teeth, to stick a knife in the center of ur back!!!!
boosho Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 LOL at all the "i cant believe you dont like.... " Im surprised that people are surprised that not every single person is going to like every single song.... (im pretty sure that made some sense) In saying that i try not to skip any songs anymore coz i learned that the more i listen to a song i didnt like before the more i start to appreciate it however that doesnt seem to apply to Rest.. I just cant get into that song.. I will still not skip it though... Im hoping one day the penny will drop and i will AHA now i get it..
Jaddedkitten Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Christian's Inferno, Last ride in, & Macy's day parade* I have to be in the mood usually a depressed mood to listen to MDP*

Lyz Z Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I will be hated for saying this, but I can't get into Jesus Of Suburbia. I like the song but can't listen to the whole thing through. Other than that, Last Ride In and Rest. Now people who like those songs are going to slit my throat because I have my own opinion.

I agree that the lyric works perfectly in the song, it totally makes sense it being there. He couldn't have put it any better, but I just don't like that particular phrase. It's my problem not theirs
One Hot Zombie Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Last Ride In. Nimrod is my fav CD, but I don't really like that song.
Caractériel Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Rest, for some reason it just annoys me. I don't like The One I Want much either.
