Hermione Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 ^I think they're talking about the AI musical CD. Wait a minute have the band ever even given us an official release date for LOTAG? I've just noticed the OP only says the song will be available for radio airplay from May 11th. Do bands bother to announce when their singles are coming out anymore?!
pisquano Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 ^ As far as I know, Green Day have not given a release date yet. But I suppose there won't be any B-sides, also beacuse the song has already been released as a single (on iTunes) in Italy, France, Finland, and many other countries (and the single doesn't carry other songs). By the way, I don't know...maybe they'll release it later

Nele Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 And it was "released" for radio airplay yesterday Which is kinda strange, since my favorite radio station is playing it like every day for the past two weeks.
Sanity Loan Posted May 12, 2010 Author Posted May 12, 2010 Which is kinda strange, since my favorite radio station is playing it like every day for the past two weeks. That was the US date I was talking about. I don't know about worldwide date
Sanity Loan Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 Do they even make CDs of singles anymore ? Yes. The hard this is finding them
Metanoia Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 i asked in the store and tehy told me they had no release date for germany yet
Sanity Loan Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 I won a bidding for the Radio Promo CD of LOTAG today on eBay! I'm paying $30 but oh well
Sanity Loan Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 The German Amazon has the single available for pre-order. It will be released June 4th http://www.amazon.de/Last-American-Girls-Green-Day/dp/B003M0HVIO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1273916357&sr=8-2
pisquano Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 7€??? that's a lot! To me, it carries some cool B-sides...
Sanity Loan Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 B-Sides are a live versions of Know Your Enemy and 21st Century Breakdown (Studio 880 Session) According to Amazon DE http://www.amazon.de/Last-American-Girls-Green-Day/dp/B003M0HVIO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1273916357&sr=8-2

Are those the b-sides everywhere or just in Germany? I'm still clinging to the hope of a b-side that would actually give me a reason to buy the single
Eirik Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 I've pretty much given any hope of a good b-side. They wouldn't do two-three singles with only live tracks as b-sides, then suddenly do an unreleased track.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Meh, those are pretty lame b-sides. Although I guess the Studio 880 version from 21stCB is interesting. I'd much rather see different b-sides though (Drama Queen, Wonderful, some other unreleased song)
Rosie May Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Why do they always release live version when they have songs like Drama Queen lying around?
Hermione Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Why do they always release live version when they have songs like Drama Queen lying around? I really don't understand it. Drama Queen was almost ON the album, there couldn't be a more appropriate b-side than that. Green Day seriously need to sort out their single-releasing skills, they're rubbish at it!
Sanity Loan Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 Why do they always release live version when they have songs like Drama Queen lying around? Maybe because they don't want to, maybe it has only been recorded in demo form, or maybe it hasn't even been fully recorded at all
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Maybe because they don't want to, maybe it has only been recorded in demo form, or maybe it hasn't even been fully recorded at all Well, like Hermoine said, it almost was on the album, it's mentioned in several articles about the album before it got out as one of the songs on the record, so it's definitely recorded.
Hermione Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 ^Yeah, journalists heard it when they got to hear the album early on before it was released, there's descriptions of it in a couple of articles. It was only replaced by Murder City at the last minute. And it's not like they decided they didn't want people to hear the song, they've played it at shows. So there's no excuse
farley drexel hatcher Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Maybe they're holding onto the good songs for a reason. Like, they might think they're too good for b-sides, or something.
Eirik Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Maybe because they don't want to, maybe it has only been recorded in demo form, or maybe it hasn't even been fully recorded at all Well, considering the facts about the album that indicate that it was recorded chronologically, and American Eulogy was recorded on November 4th, we can assume they had at least a rhythm track done at that point. Billie was also finishing up vocals in the beginning of February and at that point Drama Queen was still on the album, so it's quite possible it was recorded. And as Hermione said, at least one magazine heard it and described (quite poorly, at that). I think our main objective should be identifying that magazine find the home address of the person who heard the track and force him/her to tell us everything we need to know.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Maybe they're holding onto the good songs for a reason. Like, they might think they're too good for b-sides, or something. But Too Much Too Soon is an awesome song, and that's a b-side too. (Although I guess that's not too strong of an argument, haha.) And it would also make sense to make at least Drama Queen a b-side for this album, it fits with the theme of the album and all. I mean, maybe what you said is the/a reason, it's definitely a valid reason, but still...
