thisguy3496 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I like it to bad I have no one to play with.I guess I am going to have to play with myself.
gdpony Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 as I as said before .. the only thing that bothers me, is the fact that we only have 3 venues
Serpent72 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Not sure if this has been pointed out... but... errr... Song of the Century? WTF?
Greenday_Aussie Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Well good riddance is there...I spose it will too. Jesus, it could almost be considered a fucking mess -_-
Micky Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Not sure if this has been pointed out... but... errr... Song of the Century? WTF? yeah, we already talk about it. and probably it will be Song of the Century + 21st Century Breakdown. Song of the Century will be a sort of intro
SpiffyGiffy Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I'm not thrilled with the set-list, but I'm not suprised It was obviously going to be centred on the most recent 2 albums, seeing as they are the ones that have made them so popular again in recent years, and so they are the ones that are going to make people buy the game. And then Dookie for the same reason. It is a shame that there is so little from the other albums, and none from the first two. It wouldn't suprise me if songs from the first two albums were released as a DLC pack, 'cause they must know that fans of Green Day want to play that stuff... Ah well, the pictures in that Entertainment Weekly thing look a little better than the original trailer, and I'm sure it will still be good and fun to play
bjrules Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Th setlist is alright, but I would have liked to have seen some Kerplunk and 1039/SOSH on there. And if they can't put those on, at least put 1 more song each from Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning to make in an even 50. I was thinking maybe Stuck With Me, Redundant or Worry Rock and Waiting.
misslyssx Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Is it really lame that I'm bummed there's no 21 Guns?
Sanity Loan Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Is it really lame that I'm bummed there's no 21 Guns? Yeah there is.... and there has been for a while. Yyou have to get the 1st Track Pack
misslyssx Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Yeah there is.... and there has been for a while. Yyou have to get the 1st Track Pack Oh, duh. I should have known that. I have both of the track packs on my ipod
Holly Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I think its great, although I'd rather they hadn't used full albums.
Steven Samuels Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I may have to complain now because I just realized it's not even all of 21BC. Don't complain. It's all available in the plus version plus you can download the missing tracks off the RB music store (IT'S AVAILABLE ON ALL SYSTEMS! YES INCLUDING WII!)
Tragically Green Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Looking at the setlist anyone would think Green Day have only had 3 successful albums and the rest were absolute crap that totally failed. Very disappointing. I can understand the first two being overlooked (just about), although even that seems very silly when there's so many great guitar solos on them. But although Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning didn't have the same HUGE success as the others they were still successful, popular, critically acclaimed albums. I know it's only a game but I really find it an insult to Green Day that they're pretending those albums are the only decent things they've done. Having this "Warehouse", a little tiny club venue, for DOOKIE is absolutely ridiculous! Dookie was played in huge stadiums, that venue should be for their earlier work. It gives a false impression of Green Day. It's embarrassing. If Green Day were playing stadiums right after Dookie was released, it was as an opening band. If they headlined, it would have been in smaller venues. They got popular quickly in 94, but they weren't immediately selling out stadiums. The warehouse is to represent that the band started out playing in small little clubs, and if they're not including the earlier albums, it has to go with Dookie. .
Hermione Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 ^That's completely true of course, but to me all it does it highlight the fact that the first two albums are conspicuously missing from the game. Everyone knows their early career was all about small venues and that Dookie (although not immediately) took them to big venues and big success. All the Green Day fans playing the game know it's really their earlier albums that belong in that small venue, even if Dookie can technically fit there. It's just lame.
SpiffyGiffy Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Part of it must be to do with the quality of recordings. 'Cause as much as we love the songs, the recording quality of the first two albums sucks. Very much so. It wouldn't suprise me - in fact I'd probably prefer it this way - if they released a track pack of live versions of a few songs from the first two albums. Who knows, but I can't see that they would completely ignore the first two albums and not include them at all
sampy Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 And well, How the hell is the whole Band supposed to play Good Riddance? Maybe just harmonic parts, but there's none. Billie sings alone this one. I don't see any bad thing to have Good Riddance in the game, it's one of their biggest hits. And does Tré and Mike complain for Billie like: "we can't put this song to setlist, 'cause you sing this alone and we're band", I mean come on, it's obvious that Good Riddance is in the game.
i_wanna_see_the_light Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Kerplunk and SOSH are imo in a good sound quality! They could use it in the game! Guitar Hero World tour contains live versions of Jimmy Hendrix playing Woodstock 69! I pray for DLCs!!!!!!!!!! And why are there only 3 venues??
Harriet Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 So much for their "Entire Career" I was so looking forward to playing Dominated Love Slave as well...
SynthwaveTrooper Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Yup, no purchase for me. Green Day RockBand is a MAJOR FAIL! They should have done a Megadeth RockBand... it would have been 100x better and would sell 10x more than Green Day RockBand
leacalifornia Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I wish they had older stuff too... but from a business standpoint I can understand why they put more of the popular/recent stuff on there so it could appeal to a larger audience...
XBlade1X Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Yup, no purchase for me. Green Day RockBand is a MAJOR FAIL! They should have done a Megadeth RockBand... it would have been 100x better and would sell 10x more than Green Day RockBand Major fail? thats not true, it looks like its going to be a Major Win to me, The setlist is fine, although it could have been better its still great, and as for the Megadeth thing, I wouldn't have bought it and it wouldn't be better to me. Green Day Rock band is going to be great, And even better for the fans.
Hermione Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 but from a business standpoint I can understand why they put more of the popular/recent stuff on there so it could appeal to a larger audience... I can see that's why they're doing it too........but it seems like they've failed in doing it. Loads of Green Day's singles, and well known songs they've played live for years, aren't on there. While obscure album tracks like Emenius Sleepus are. They've failed both in represesnting their whole career AND in including all their best known songs to appeal to a wider audience. It's one big failure From the point of me enjoying played the game though, it's still all good. Playing any selection of Green Day songs whatsoever will be very enjoyable. Hell playing any songs by any band on Rockband is enjoyable.
A_Green_Cure Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 I don't see any bad thing to have Good Riddance in the game, it's one of their biggest hits. And does Tré and Mike complain for Billie like: "we can't put this song to setlist, 'cause you sing this alone and we're band", I mean come on, it's obvious that Good Riddance is in the game. I think you didn't get my point. I'm not talking about Green Day playing the song live. I'm talking about the video game. What I meant is this: You play Rock Band with 4 players: Player A: Vocals Player B: Drums Player C: Guitar Player D: Bass So, If you choose to play Good Riddance how do you play it: Guitar and Vocals. What about Drums and Bass? That's what I was stating. Come on, it's obvious that Billie Plays that song alone live. I wasn't saying that trè and Mike complain about it. Then, adding to the videogame thing, I said that this song may be played with harmonics, the gameplay thing that was on The Beatles Rock Band. up to 3 persons can sing the song. In conclusion: I was talking about the Gampelay. Not about Green Day arguing wether to put the song on the concerts setlists.
