Anko Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I have a question, why do we all have to agree on the song? It should be an individual choice because several people here have ideas for many songs and some might be similar to others Like if EJN was picked,I know that we all have ideas for it and more than one have similar ideas. I'm just saying that if this does happen we should leave the song choice up to the individual to avoid problems.

It should be an individual choice because several people here have ideas for many songs and some might be similar to others I completely agree with this. To be honest I was personally thinking that if I make one I'd do kind of a Green Day mash-up with bits of all my favourite songs combined together. At least then I could do all my ideas without having to solely commit to one and at the same time make a fitting tribute to one of my favourite bands.

I mean, if we decide to make a competition out of it it would be cool if anyone could choose the song he/her wants or is inspired by.
Met Fan Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I used to have a lot of ideas for videos, but I lack the software and the patience to work on something like that. Most recently was last year, I had that idea to make a video for Peacemaker that tells the story of Rachel Corrie, I believe the song is inspired by her story, I believe the song was inspired by her actually. In case you don't know her; she was an American peace activist that got killed trying to stop the Israeli army bulldozers from destroying Palestinian families homes, that was during the Palestinian Intifada (uprising) against Israeli occupation earlier last decade, Billie Joe commented on it back then but I can't remember what he said or where it was, I think it was some internet punk rock magazine that interviewed him in the studio. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Corrie http://www.rachelcorrie.org/ My idea was of a blurry surreal video that depicts her journey and her death but when I saw 21st Century Breakdown music video I imagines the Peacemaker video about Corrie could be done in a similar manner, motion graffiti drawings that tells the story for the first half of the video, maybe after the solo section/second half of the video we start seeing real images of the mourners, the vigils and the protests that followed the incident, the video closes with T.V monitors broadcasting the news of her death from different news channels in different languages all of which would probably be found online with a bit of effort.
