Random_idiot Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I haven't seen green day live, because they did not came to Russia .__.
Kaddi. Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Yeah, I've seen them for three time so far. October 8th, 2009 in Hamburg: My first Green Day concert ever, so the feeling was overwhelming. I think I'd still say that it was my best GD show so far, although the setlist wasn't special at all. October 14th, 2009 in Dortmund: The audience was quite lame, but GD were as awesome as always. Plus, I met all the GDC people there. May 30th, 2010 in Hannover: I was standing pretty far in the back, so that sucked a bit. Apart from that, it was just awesome... the support band was great, the setlist was awesome, the whole show was awesome and the audience was great.
Katarina. Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Ah, now I can finally say I've seen them two times. October 16th, 2009 in Rotterdam and May 29th, 2010 at Pinkpop Best nights of my life!
Ingrid Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Three times in 2005 - at Brixton, Milton Keynes and a small outdoor show for an invited audience only (and I wasn't invited!) at the BBC Last May in Paris - at the Trabendo Club Las Vegas and Phoenix last August Then nine times in the UK in October / early November, followed by the best showof my life - Foxboro at The Relentless Garage. And in three weeks I get to do it again - Manchester, Wembley, Glasgow, Paris and Rock Werchter. It's not enough. I love how you've been to so many great concerts and still say that FBHT in London was the best. I'd only seen Green Day once before that show, but still knew that I was witnessing something very special that night at The Garage!
sharon mitchell Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I think I've seen the guys about 9 times but I will always remember my first show. My total is 15 now (with another five in the next month - whoooo!) but that first time is pretty special. I lost my GD virginity at Brixton, January 2005. I left my husband at home looking after my elderly mother who had Alzheimers and Parkinsons' Disease, and escaped for the evening. I've seen a fair few bands in my time, but when I saw these guys I knew that I'd seen the best. The energy throughout the whole show was relentless - I was transfixed by the whole thing, but when Billie played Good Riddance, it was like I was paralysed. It was incredible. I'd always loved the pared - down version on the Brain Stew single, and that night, it was just Billie Joe's voice and an acoustic guitar and it was nothing short of magical. I cried like a bloody baby. I got home and my man was still awake, and foolishly asked me how the concert was. Two hours later, he politely asked me to shut up so that he had a chance of waking up in time for work the next day. I told him about Milton Keynes and he said we could go if he liked their music, so I loaned him International Superhits to play in his car as an introduction. Then he had American Idiot, followed by Dookie, Warning, Nimrod ...... and then I realised that he wasn't giving them back!!!!!! We went to MK (on the Saturday) and Graham agreed they were the best live band he'd ever seen, too, and later, in November, we were incredibly lucky to get to the barrier at an invited audience only private outdoor show for around 200 people at the BBC - when we weren't invited! Before, during and after the concert we made friends with a whole bunch of people, who still remain our friends to this day. Tony (greendaytone) has slept on our floor at home here in Longview, and we went to the wedding of Nick and Jojo (the cuter than cute couple in red and black stripes on Bullet in a Bible) this February. In total, we have around 150 good friends from literally all over the world that we have met at gigs,or through fan forums, and we get to see a load of them in a couple of weeks. First Cosmo is on us, J'net!
Isabel Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 ^ That's really amazing, Sharon. Awwh, Graham is such a dote! My favourite show will always be Belfast, but the first show is definitely something special. That was January 31st 2005 for me I was only 17 and had been waiting for 3 years to see Green Day. Having not been allowed to go to their show in the Ambassador the previous August I was determined to get to the show in The Point. It definitely was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I remember when they all ran out on to the stage, it was something I can't even begin to try explaining. I didn't know that they always brought fans on stage so when they started pulling people up to play Knowledge I thought that was the cooles thing I had ever seen and couldn't believe that they were involving the crowd so much, making the entire thing about us. And every time he said "Dublin!" with such enthusiasm my heart skipped a beat....they were having the time of their life in my crappy little city. <3
