All I vaguely remember is liking them during middle school (2001-2003), buying International Superhits around that time, attending the Pop Disaster Tour and seeing them live for the first time. Hhonestly I didn't start loving them until the American Idiot era. My first Green Day shirt was the American Idiot light-pink sort of baby doll styled tee they had on sale at Hot Topic at the time. I have since also purchased a green Kerplunk! shirt with the album artwork on it, and a 21st Century Breakdown shirt. I have a hot pink Green Day makeup bag also from Hot Topic (lol) that I love to pieces and still use to this day, even though I probably bought that when I was about 15. And I FINALLY got a full sized Green Day poster of their recent Rolling Stone cover from this past summer. Originally, I only had a ton of band picture clippings from magazines and mini-posters. PS: I had a flipping Tiger Beat poster of Billie Joe on my old bedroom door in high school. I was 17 at the time. LOL. Oh, the memories...I should post a picture

I clearly remember it. xD We were in a shop called Bruna and my friends wanted to buy Bravo Magazine because Tokio Hotel was in it. I hated (and still do) Tokio Hotel so I was looking for something else. And then I found out Green Day was in it. When I saw Billie Joe's face it kinda gave me a heart attack. xD I was sooooo obessed with him. I also remember buying my first shirt. I was in Utrecht with my mother, aunt and niece. We were just shopping and then my niece found a lil'shop called Netjes, so we went in and we found out it was a shop with a lot of band shirts. So I found a really cool one and my mother bought it for me.

Now my collection has stemmed into a 30+ shirt collection of about 5 bands, sweaters and a whole shit load of other stuff. I could be a rich mofo if I got back all the money I've spent on band stuff. But I don't regret any of it. Not for a second.
dallasthemenace Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 waaaaay back in the time between dookie and insomniac, i skipped lunch at school for 2 weeks so i could take my lunch money and buy this fucking HUGE subway poster of the band. it was a black and white photo with mike putting his foot in his mouth....best 20 bucks i had ever spent at the time. i still have it...its a tad beat up now, but has survived my teenage years and a few hurricanes.
