Do Pit Tickets Exist for Irvine, CA?

I am confident that KROQ does not have pit tickets. I have won tickets off radio stations before & they almost always give you awful seats. Unless, of course, the venue is all general admission.

This is the same issue I had with the Henry Fonda show. These ticket scalpers get all the pit tickets before any of them go on sale. This has to be illegal, but still nothing is done about it.

I haven't read about anyone getting pit for Irvine. Some people might be confusing Irvine with Chula Vista. I did every pre-sale too. No way these tickets could have slipped by me

I checked the rules to the competition adn no where does it say that the tickets they are giving away are Pit tickets.

Gives you the bus ride in, entry to teh show and something afterwards.

I'm obviously as disapointed as the rest of you guys - I am up till 3.30 am trying to get these tickets - so was really pissed off about it.

I think the band would be pretty pissed off too - imagine how aweful it would be to play to a pit of people who aren't mad devoted fans.

I've tried to get them during the fan club presale, radio presale, and then finally during the general sale that started today and I, as well as about 50 other people that I've found on message boards, did not even have the option to buy them. When a popular event goes on sale there are literally hundreds and sometimes thousands of customers simultaneously attempting to purchase tickets across all distribution channels. Like any limited commodity, tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and sometimes they go quickly. If 500 fans are simultaneously buying four tickets each, 2,000 tickets can be sold in a matter of seconds. It's the same reason why a typical 18,000-seat arena can sell out in a few minutes.

It is always possible for a limited number of tickets to become available after an on-sale. Sometimes the venue or promoter will release additional tickets after an event has been taken off sale. Also, in the course of processing orders, we may find accounts that are over the ticket limit, need payment or do not have the correct billing address. In these cases, the order may be cancelled and the seats released back into the system for sale. Therefore, it is possible for additional seats to become available after the initial on sale.

Ticketmaster always sells the best available seats at the time the order is placed, and as agreed to during the order process, there are no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations.

Apparently 2 people from GDC did.

My guess is if you're right and KROQ DIDN'T reserve a bunch of pit tickets like people have been saying now for a few days then they really did just get bought up and most of us just didn't get lucky. The pit is tiny after all. They obviously exist if a couple people here were able to get them...

Also, my friend said that a lot of GD shows, have been all seats.

The same thing happened to me with the Camden show. I did all presales and general sale like crazy and no pit tickets. But I know a lot people who did get pit tickets so i guess it's just my luck

The pit is insanely small, then take into account that they can only fill it up 3/4 of the way for fire safety and it gets even smaller. For a while there was talk in a group on myspace that Irvine wasn't even going to have a pit. I found that a bit hard to swallow though...

I've never even been in a Green Day pit before. that doesn't stop me from enjoying their show

if you cant get the pit for ONE show then oh well, shit happens. boo hoo get the best you can and enjoy the fucking show

It's entirely possible that TicketMaster, for once, knows what the fuck they're on about. You guys gotta realise something --- There was only three hundred a fifty pit tickets available for sale. Those babies could have literally sold out in under thirty seconds, no kidding.

There were about a thousand pit tickets available for the show I'm going to --- Which, obviously, is a fuck of a lot more than three fifty --- And they sold out the same amount of time.

Whatever's really going on, though, it sucks. I feel for you guys, I really do.

I just did some calculations and I think KROQ has about 240 pit tickets. Does anyone know how many people the pit holds?

Yeah, a poster on here says she got a pit ticket in the KROQ presale.

And I could have sworn I recall hearing somewhere that someone else managed to get one too.

I've only heard of one person getting pit tickets. i've seen a bunch on Ebay. Which makes no sense. The reason people are upset about this is because for some this is the only Green Day show that they will be able to go to. And Alot of people would rather be in be Pit then be sitting down.

Its also surprising that no one on here got pit tickets(besides one girl). And i know all of us were on ticketmaster for the Presale. Its just crazy!

Other than the 2 who were mentioned on this thread that somehow got pit tickets there is no other pit tickets out there to be found unless its through a ticket broker who are charging a ridiculous amount of money for them and that really irritates me since it shuts out there loyal fans from getting to see them up front

Well I'd venture a guess that any fan willing to pay over 1000 dollars for a pit ticket to see Green Day is pretty loyal.

they're giving away 24 tickets each day and they started since March 31st and i believe they stopped giving them away on April 2nd. each ticket they gave was pairs.

however, i've never been good at math so my calculations could be wrong.
