November's Storms Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 My first was American Idiot. Although I only got it as a copy from a friend so I didn't know the songs titles all that well. I wasn't really a Green Day fan at all then so I had to guess the song names! I thought Give Me Novocaine was Basket Case...I named Homecoming "Streets of Shame" and and Whatsername was "More Than Vertigo" (cos I thought thats what Billie sang when he actually sang forever ago! ) Thats embarrassing! The first Green Day CD I actually bought with my own money was International Superhits. And I've never looked back!

McNavdo Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 I got Good Riddance back when i was 7 (I had no idea who the band was back then, I just really liked the song) Then in 2000 I got a cassette of Warning (I still didn't know much about the band) then once i started High School in 2001 I really started to get into music so i started paying more attention to bands in general

Blu Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 My parents didn't like me listening to this kind of music, so I bought American Idiot behind their back on June 30, 2005 while I was out with my friend celebrating her birthday (which is July 1st). Eventually my parents got over me listening to the CD all the time and my dad helped me buy all the other ones over the following 3-4 months.

I remember buying all the older ones in one session because they were going for dirt cheap at the time. It was like an after xmas sale. I think i got Insomniac for like 3 quid!?

The first cd I actually owned myself was Nimrod which I got a few weeks ago Still can't believe I didn't own any GD cds until then

So she gave me a copy of it on tape xD As for the first one I bought, Warning when it came out. I remember going in to the city with my sister to get it, and we each bought a copy and sat in the car on the way home listing to it. The joys of a seventeen year gape between sisters.

I think i got it around 2002 when i was 5 or 6 I used to listen to this local radio station called 99.9 the Buzz and they played Green Day pretty often, and after the first time i heard Basket Case play (1st GD song i ever heard), i was sold...
