i'd like to see some more of their older stuff. back to the basics, or whatever y'all say.

An album with no recurring themes would be nice kind of like Warning or Nimrod

THIS!

couldnt have said it better :)

Fair enough

I second this! I would like that too...no themes...just good songs

They should make a Nimrod-like album now with no themes through the album, just songs with themes

Agree completly !

i dont really mind as long as their sense of humour comes back, the last album was a bit serious... :ermm:

thatd be amzing! I think id like to hear some stuff thats more hardcore, or like you said something thatll move them forward, something new, different

I would love to hear something more hard rock from them, less pop.

Either way, I'll be happy if they just keep progressing and take risks. Green Day are best when taking risks.

Whatever they think is right is fine with me, but I'd prefer it if they wouldn't go softer and poppier. Something that's still progress and not going backwards, but a little harder. Maybe like, back to basics but not back. If that makes any sense  I would't like them to really go back though, they should still make progress.

I think I've just said exactly the same twice.

Honestly, I don't mind them coming out with a conceptual album whatsoever. Neither do I mind them having songs that just have a theme within the sound/style, which exists in all of their albums. Most people seem to disagree, but I do like the semi-political aspect they take on in their more recent work. It's awesome. I'd like some more of that.

But, there is one thing I'd hate to see, and I highly doubt they'd do it:

They better not let Hayley Williams feature in any of the fucking songs. I. will. die. This whole having Paramore open for them made me nervous enough. Let's hope it ends there.

100% agree with that, you just post exactly what I think about it. But as you said whatever they do, I know that will be fine, they are just too talented.

It hurts to say it, but that would kinda piss me off and make me sad =/ it wouldnt be their style if they started with collaborations, specially with someone like hayley, I really hope it doesnt come to that, other than that ANYTHING would be great :)

id like to see a mixture between the two :)

None of the above.

(I think)Back to the basics means go back to the start of making a new record. So, stuff like writing lyrics and record some demos and things like that. :)

But I don't have a preference for the new record, whatever Green Day want to make it more than fine by me <3

I'm sure whatever they'd come up with, I'd love. But I don't want something they've already done before, like not another Dookie. They've grown up and I'd like it to be different, more experimental?

Something like 30 Seconds To Mars' first album would be brilliant.

I don't care..as long as it's Green Day :P

Green Day doing progressive rock? I would like to see that actually :P

I think they should pull an MGMT and do an album no one expected them to do. Some random genre of music like hardcore punk or psychedelic rock. I want more experimental stuff like Maddy said.

Yeah, I think that'd be pretty cool. And then we'd shake off all the ~overobsessed teenies who like 21 Guns.

I'd love to see Green Day do Welcome To The Universe, or even 93 Million Miles.

I agree with this, I know I'll love it regardless. So long as they dont do something completely wack

As long as it's original and them. If they change their style a bit, then I wouldn't mind. As a band, you can't always keep doing to same thing. You've got to evolve naturally, and I think Green Day has done that particularly well since their first record.

I'd love something ~out there though.
