the songs they managed to write would sound basic because it is in the early stages.

I can't help but think it's mostly their own fault though, or at least their record company's. The album and especially the singles just haven't been promoted properly. Seems like they've given up on it.

Atm this news scares me a lil. I mean, I think its too early to talk about a new record, it seems yesterday that I bought 21stCB to me. And after all the time we waited for it after AI, this news seems a lil weird. I just wanna enjoy the last record as possible right now.

This "news" is not news its just some people who heard Billie say something very mundane and turned it into "NEWS"... Unless you live in Billie's head (which i would love to sometimes) no one will ever know what the new album is going to be like, even Tre and Mike probably dont know.. FUCK even Billie himself doesnt even know what the album is going to sound like..

And I know everyone is saying the last album took 5 yrs to come to out, well techincally it took them under 2.5 yrs to write, which i think is a reasonable time for an album like 21CB.. When they tour for 2 years, which is not something a lot of people do, it will take a little longer to get a new album... But hey they are even trying to cut that time down and start working on the new one while still touring.. So i dont think there is more that we can ask for.... (PS i wasnt bitching at anyone before ppl start to take offence, im just naturally a bitch )

i really like the idea of "going back to their roots", but i still can't see them playing songs like At The Library or Longview, and i don't think they will either. With "roots", i think they mean like a non-rock opera with both fast songs and slower ones, sort of like Nimrod, just a bit more political But ey - they're Green Day. You never know what they'll come up with
