Katarina. Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Nothing we didn't know already. They were just kinda 'rewriting' that Kerrang article, which didn't really give us that much news either xD But great to know they're working on new songs, the thought of that always makes me happy and excited for the next record It's so early to talk about a new record though! 21CB hasn't even been out for a year. I'm certainly not complaining
Princess Consuela Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Meh, they always make fuss about new Green Day record and then we wait 5 years for it.
Katarina. Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 didnt they say they were gonna release new songs this year? the ones they recorded in germany? I thought that was just a rumor and they never said it like that. (It's most likely from an article that misinterpreted the Kerrang one..)
boosho Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 didnt they say they were gonna release new songs this year? the ones they recorded in germany? I dont think they actually ever said they would be releasing any songs, all we knew is that they recorded some demos while in europe.. Or at least that what i knew..And to be honest i have realized not to believe anything i read because even with "quotes" its still unreliable coz there is a lot of interpertation that goes on. So unless its from the horse's mouth i dont really put too much emphasis on it..
Hermione Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 They didn't say the album would be back to basics . All they said was they're going "back to basics" in the sense that they're just starting out on the earliest stages of making a new album. The article is such rubbish! All this fuss about a "new album" is annoying the shit out of me already . All they've done is a few demos - something they do all the time anyway. This whole thing is a total non-story.
darenmay Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 "It's all back to the basics again. Just getting in a room together and start jamming..." i don't think 'back to basics' means making another dookie or like the old school sound. it means getting back together again in the studio or in a room that they first do to start off a record. that, maybe, is the most basic thing they do before they make a new album.

Yes. That is exactly what I think it means.
Sarah.Scumbag Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 its the same info from the kerrang scan ... still I would love an album different than he last two .. This.
Maddy. Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I love how all the "news" has absolutely no substance. They're always busy writing new stuff.
AnnA™ Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Yeah not much news there. Anyway, whatever they do I'm sure I'll love it. For some reason I think it's really hard for me to dislike anything they do. They're really a big and natural part of my life every day, so I don't see myself waking up one day feeling disappointed with their work. I don't know what I'd like the new album to sound like. I still feel like 21st Century Breakdown just came out, so I haven't given it much thought. And yeah, they're always writing new songs. I don't see a reason to be super excited about a new album just yet. But whenever they're ready to release new stuff I'll be really excited. Whether they go "back to their roots" or keep trying new directions or whatever I'm sure I'll love it. 'Cause it's Green Day. They haven't disappointed me yet, and I don't think they will anytime soon.

AnnA™ Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Lol, you just pretty much wrote down my thoughts right there Great minds think alike, eh? Hahah.
pisquano Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Just hope they will not make a pop record, because they are on this way...
Katarina. Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Great minds think alike, eh? Hahah. Exactly, haha
Harinezumi Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Just hope they will not make a pop record There's no way that they're gonna start writing meaningless pop songs, ever.
Minority_GD Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I don't care if they're making a record thats "back to basics", I just hope that the fact that they're already working on it means that it won't take another 5 years to release the new album. We waited so long for 21CB and I'll die if I have to wait another 5 years!
XxRedundantCastaway86xX Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 1) Dude, you make a LOT of threads. You might want to think before you post. and Yay! shut up didnt they say they were gonna release new songs this year? the ones they recorded in germany? Some sources say Green Day's going to preview some new songs on the 2010 European and US tours... but we don't know for sure.

newsflash777 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 It's kind of irritating how much 21st was overshadowed by other shit, like the AI musical. I don't know, I don't know how to explain it.
Peace and Rainbows Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Dude i'm enjoying this album. I;ll wait till MCR has a new album at least
Robin105 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Back to the basics sounds to me like they want to go back to there old sound. Maybe another album like Dookie or Insomniac. Whatever Green Day come out with I know I will love. I love everything they do.
cabot_girl Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'd love them to do a more classic punk album..I would really love to have an album with songs, not another concept album.
iamyourenemy Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I like the fact that there is more of a buzz now then there was after American Idiot for 21st CB! I think we'll love it whatever
