Harinezumi Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 My reaction to the list: 1) Liam Gallagher 2) Bono 3) Freddie Mercury 4) Damon Albarn 5) Chris Martin 6) Matt Bellamy 7) Jim Morrison 8) Bob Marley 9) Paul McCartney 10) John Lennon 11) Robbie Williams 12) Debbie Harry 13) Mick Jagger 14) Morrissey 15) John Lydon 16) James Brown 17) Bruce Springsteen 18) Robert Plant 19) Tom Meighan 20) Joe Strummer Sorry, just had to do it.
Comrade Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'm not surprised at Matt Bellamy being that high up tbh, they are the best British live act since Queen. He deserves that sort of recognition.
Peace and Rainbows Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 fuck q That was a shitty list that's for sure
iamyourenemy Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Ahh, sweet Thats such a good picture of him too! (not that there are many bad ones tbh...)
Hermione Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'm not surprised at Matt Bellamy being that high up tbh, they are the best British live act since Queen. He deserves that sort of recognition. I agree. In my head the list says 1) Billie Joe Armstrong 2) Matt Bellamy
Ally Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 what a load of shit, glad i didn't go and buy Q today, i shall save my money, Billie is by far a better frontman than at least half of them on that list, what a joke!
Katarina. Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'm glad I didn't buy this mag.. Billie is my #1 frontman, but he should've at least made it to the top 3. Meh.
Guest Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Well he came at 22, and all it said was two sentences about him being an idol for masturbating teenagers, or something along those lines... I didn't buy it luckily.
elisa Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I agree. In my head the list says 1) Billie Joe Armstrong 2) Matt Bellamy This!
Tubbie Head Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I think the list isn't that bad, The ones up there are legends... Well, at least some of them... For us Billie is one of the best frontmans, but I think he's still not recognised for that, not even GD's music is recognised as it should be... But, he still is on the list right? not the top but that's still good, I think =)

But, he still is on the list right? not the top but that's still good, I think =) Good point Like my dad said, compared to a lot of the others on that list Billie is a newbie. He has only really been this frontman type for the last two albums - before that he had a different way of leading the crowd. One day though I am sure he will be in the top ten at least. I think he's definitely one of the last good frontmen. Plus this is Q magazine, their opinion doesn't really mean much these days XD
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Well he came at 22, and all it said was two sentences about him being an idol for masturbating teenagers, or something along those lines... I didn't buy it luckily. wtf
Homicidal_llama Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Meh, it was voted for by the Q readers. Pretty pathetic list if you ask me... As far as front men are concerned Billie stands way above the majority of that top ten and thats not just because I'm biast. Even if I didn't like Green Day I'd still realise the amount of energy he puts into getting the crowd going. But apparently it's not about that, apparently it's more about some idiotic, moody Brit from Manchester who just leeches off his Brother's talent.
GoodRiddanceGE Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I love the photo they chose to portray him as one of the greatest frontmen of all time It fits perfectly!
Rosie May Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I was pretty annoyed when I got this magazine and there was only a tiny little sentence or two about Billie. I think it's really misleading the way they had a giant picture of him to advertise it and had his name first on the list, and he's barely even in it. The whole list itself is ridiculous, it's called "100 greatest frontmen" and yet they have frontwomen and solo artists in it, could they not have thought of a more suitable title? I can't believe Liam Gallagher is number one, apparently being an arrogant dope that has a problem with everything is more important than getting the crowd going and actually giving a crap about you're fans. Ugh,
Hermione Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Seriously, Robbie Williams is number 11. There are no redeeming features to this list. Well he came at 22, and all it said was two sentences about him being an idol for masturbating teenagers, or something along those lines... I didn't buy it luckily. Oh my god
