I waited 5 years for 21st Breakdown and I can wait another 5 years if it's as great as the other records. And I'm sure it will be. I know what you mean... but do you seriously think Green Day (or Billie especially) would release an album they're not totally satisfied with? I don't think so, so if they wanna release the next album earlier this time, I'm happy about it. Plus, I doubt it'll be released earlier than 2012 anyway.

No, of course they won't release a record they aren't happy with I just can't see them doing it more quickly as we are used to it. If they can do it, it would be perfect but I think it isn't really realistic to make an amazing album in 2 years. The'll take a big break after the US tour and will begin writing new stuff in January 2011 maybe... So, let's see how fast they are

First of all, the band is constantly writing new songs, and then there's the fact that 21CB came out less than a year ago. It's going to be a couple years at least before there's a new album. I wouldn't be surprised if this article has to do with the American Idiot cast album though.

I could see it coming out then but then again it could take another 5 years but I doubt that. The reason it took them so long to make 21st Century Breakdown was because they needed a break first of all and 2nd they said they wanted to try and top American Idiot. But seeing as they are already recording demos and thinking about new songs makes me feel like the album will be out in 2012 or 2013. I'm in no hurry though. I still listen to 21st Century Breakdown like it came out yesterday.
