I got mine at Barnes and Noble, so I am going to assume that Borders will have it, too.

And the missing page is on the GDA, people.

ON WHAT IT MEANS TO BE “PUNK ROCK”:

That’s like a 10 part answer. I think of it as something that you need to have of your own. For me it’s about community. I think it’s kind of spiritual in its own way, because people fight over it so much and the meaning of it. It’s a sense of self-discovery. But also a new set of ideas and a new poetry, a new music that you discover that you notice that no one else is really into, or goes against what other people are normally into. It’s like you’re free to be an individual and taking on new ideas and challenging old ideas. I think it has a lot to do with burning down the establishment to create something new. But at the same time, you find relationships within that too. It’s something that’s supposed to empower you. It’s about starting something new. Part of the problem with a lot of punk rock is that people believe that it’s supposed to be one thing. Everything for me starts off with punk rock when I’m writing songs -- it’s almost like I’m stripped down to the bare bones of music again. It’s kind of in my DNA in this point.

I'll print it and I'll stick it on my room's walls 'cause this is one of the best things I've ever read! I love this man!

I agree ^^ I already saved this part...

I loove the outtakes <3

I also love this answer, it's older but still...

Billie talking about Punk: Punk is not just the sound, the music. Punk is a life-style. There are a lot of bands around who claim to be punk and they only play the music, they have no clue what it's all about. It's a life-style I chose for myself. It's not about popularity and all that crap. When we started out as a band, we played punk rock, the music. [Then] we changed our sound, but we didn't change. We're just as much punk as we used to be. We got a lot of shit, and we're still getting it, for being signed with a major label. So what? We didn't start the band to cash in a lot of money. When we started out, punk was probably the most unpopular music around.

Jesus, words cannot adequately describe how much I fucking love this man's mind.

ON HIS WIFE, ADRIENNE:

She’s great. She’s beautiful. Without her, I don’t know what I’d do. She empowers me to challenge myself in a lot of ways. She inspired the song “American Idiot” by playing me this Midnight Oil song that she really loved. She runs a store called Atomic Garden, all about sustainable living. She’s really active in NRDC, politically. Sometimes I think she’s a hell of a lot more interesting and a cooler person than I am.

from here , that was posted on another thread

Fantastic! The outtakes are great. Ahh I just love the man :D

Great article and questions. That bow-tie picture in particular is totally melting my soul!

And I can't even count the amount of times i've had to ask today "excuse me, where's the queer section?"

do you know maybe what song was that? :D

"Earth and Sun and Moon" by Midnight Oil.

Same chord progression as American Idiot.

I saw it at my Barnes & Noble today. Didn't buy it since $6 for a magazine is highway robbery! :o

$6 isn't that much, is it? I know loads of magazines here which are over $6. those are kinda big glossies for housewives though, idk how thick this magazine is.

I don't know, I refuse to pay more than $5 for a magazine (minus the Kerrang legends since that was special), especially if it's an American magazine, like this is; it even pisses me off to pay $5 for magazines (like I did with Spin, and like I do on the rare occasions I buy Rolling Stone and Bust). Most of the magazines I buy are $3 or $4. I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly so I don't recall off of the top of my head what their newsstand price is, but I think it's $4.

I'm a cheap bastard, not supporting magazines, the field I may want to enter for a career

^Out is TINY compared to every other mag, and $6 is pretty ridiculous. It's not worth it unless you're psychotic about collecting green day crap. like me..
