greendaytone Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Really tough, but i went for 21CB for a number of reasons. I love listening to 21CB more at the moment, maybe because it's fresh. It's a great album opener, the way it builds to a cruciendo and then fades out at the end. The lyrics are awesome as well. And also, it needs a bit of help in this contest. JOS looks like it's going to take it comfortably, and it is a great song.
For Lack of a Better Word Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Kind of sorry this contest is almost over already, it has been fun! And there's no doubt about the final winner: just totally lost it when they started playing JOS at the concert I went to last year and basically screamed my lungs out! But I think we all kinda knew from the start JOS was going to own this thing. But hell, ALL Green Day songs kick ass!!
bollard_11 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 21CB, it needs all the votes it can get but both are truely amazing songs
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 woohoo² Jesus of suburbia wins!!! The song really deserves the titel best green day song!
Juliette Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I actually prefer 21CB but voted JOS because I think it is an amazing song and was such a change in their music. If they hadn't written it I expect things would be very different now. And there's no doubt it is an amazing song.
petros Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Jesus Of Suburbia of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Surely my favourite... :D :D :D
The Disappearing Boy Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 JOS. Difficult choice. I still wanted Minority to win the whole thing, but JOS is a suitable substitute.
Johannamunter Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I really love 21st Century Breakdown but my vote goes to Jesus of Suburbia
Mar Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 meh. I'm kind of sad these two ended up here. I mean of course we all knew JOS would be in the top two, but there is nothing to represent their career before the latest albums :/ Oh, that is true, it would have been nice to see an older song there. I love their older work, but yknow, I love it collectively, but it just happens that my (and apparently, a lot of others ) favorite songs of theirs come from their newer work, if that makes sense. I love all of their older stuff pretty much equally, but the standouts are in their newer work. Plus, I think a lot of voters are like me, and got into the band via American Idiot, and as a result, there's a lot more nostalgia with that and 21st Century Breakdown, so they're more likely to have their earliest songs be their favorites (not to sound douchey, but that's the way it was for me, I fell in love with the band via JOS, and a lot of people agreed with my sentiment, so that's why I think this way).
Empty Laughter Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 JOS is the best song EVER! *-* it was so easy
ChelseaWhatsername Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 .... Class of 13, or king of the 7/11 parking lot? Whatsername, or Gloria? 8 or 9 minute song, or a 5 minute song? American Idiot, or 21stCB? Fuck, or shit? I can't vote.....
AnnA™ Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I thought I'd vote for 21st Century Breakdown. But I just changed my mind. I'll have to go with Jesus of Suburbia.
Jenny95 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Now I'm happy that Minority lost because that made it easier to decide ,so I voted for : Jesus of Seburbia
DecanoLP Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Jesus Of Suburbia BUT: Going To Pasalacqua should have won this contest
