Heather! Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 guuuhhh I don't even have words for this song. I want the number 17 tattooed on me, because I'll never forget being this age, and the first line is so fucking powerful to me. I'd probably cry if I heard it live.
LetItBeHappy Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 after the earthquake, my dookie copy was pretty damaged... BUT COMING CLEAN IS OKAY
Alyssa J Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I love this song. It sorta reminds me when my parents found out I was gay. They weren't happy, AT ALL! They still aren't
94th nimrod. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I love this song! It's one of my favorite songs from Dookie, maybe on of my favorites of them all. I just simply love it It explans so many of my thoghts, 'cause my parents doesn't quite understand me, so I don't tell them everything.. almost nothing.. But I'm not bi or something.. it's just that they dosen't understand me...
gone2pasalacqua Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I want the number 17 tattooed on me, because I'll never forget being this age, and the first line is so fucking powerful to me. that's exactly why we got it
Hanner Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 ahh they played this at the Nokia Plaza show in LA. i remember when they first started playing it everyone started to freak the fuck out. it was amazing. heres a really good video of it
tommy_huggs Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I love the acoustic version of this song. Works really well. I remember when I was about 14 the 1st Green Day T-shirt I bought was a black basket case tee with the artwork from the dookie booklet. Anyway, on the back were some of the coming clean lyrics with the skeleton artwork. Loved that tee and wore it to death. It had faded to a light grey by the time I retired it!
04rebhop Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I just love this song. Ever since i brought the Dookie Tab book and i played it once i began to truly understand the lryics, and i actually listened to the song and realised how powerful it was. I just think how amazing Billie is to say this to the world.
Just Kate Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 it's definately one of the weirdest but sweetest and best songs on Dookie to me EDIT: just saw the video... awesome... i mostly loved 'oh dick' and 'oh cunt' haha
P3AC3MAK3R Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ohhh awsome song choice i like the acustic version .. its different
incendiary girl Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Loved this song growing up (and now too, of course!). The acoustic version is indeed beautiful. Thanks for sharing, J'net!
Hanna__ Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I've always loved this song! And it never gets boring, you can listen it over and over again! It's an awesome song.
theeulogy Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Love the song! I spent my seventeen with it It reminds me how young I used to be
Guest Charlotte. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I love this song! It reminds me of the night I saw GD in Manchester on October 30th. It was one of the songs me and my friend wanted them to play and they played it
Agija Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I just realized I haven't listened to Coming Clean for ages. And the next thought that popped into my mind was that I will no longer be 17 in less than two months. Anyway, I like this song so much. I've always enjoyed listening to it and it has always seemed too short for me. And the lyrics are great. My favorite part is: "Secrets collecting dust but never forget Skeletons come to life in my closet".
Maddy. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I want this song to wake me up on my 17th birthday, lol. I love it. It's always been one of my fav's off Dookie.
mandajane Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 love this song. this album helped me a lot in general throughout my teen years
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Those two videos you posted are great J'net, once again it's so cool to see them perform older songs now. I love watching old performances of it too and I really like this one. Mostly because of the end Aw, that's a great video, I really like it, thanks for posting it, Hermoine! And I love the acoustic version too<3
downontelegraph Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Great, great, great, song choice. I love this song, and I've always felt like it has been totally underrated.
LetItBeHappy Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I want this song to wake me up on my 17th birthday, lol. I love it. It's always been one of my fav's off Dookie. good idea... Ale's birthday is before mine; I'll call her at 0:00 and I'll sing her that, yay, my evil masterplan is complete
Ally Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Never forget them playing this at manchester, i was absolutely delirious when they played it coming clean is at the end
Joy of suburbia. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 This was my alarm when I turned 17... that song woke me up and I played it all day until my birthday was over. this song is just pure
SexyBIbiatch Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I just realized I haven't listened to Coming Clean for ages. I've always enjoyed listening to it and it has always seemed too short for me. And the lyrics are great. My favorite part is: "Secrets collecting dust but never forget Skeletons come to life in my closet". That's my favorite part too! is just so frustrating when you're pretending and not being yourself, just keeping secrets, it takes a lot of courage to finally come clean
mandajane Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 "Secrets collecting dust but never forget Skeletons come to life in my closet". pretty much how i felt in highschool
