I'd like to know why he hates Green Day for being a 'showbiz construct', when the Sex Pistols formed to purposely be offensive and make money off it.

He's expressed his disinterest for Green Day a lot, just about every single chance he gets to open his mouth. He said something about them back in 2005, and I think he even trashed them when he was talking about his Sex Pistols clothing line.....Yeap, that's right, the self-appointed king of punk has a clothing line, which you can purchase at Vans shoes stores all over the US. Pretty punk rock, eh? Though I'm sure that wasn't directly his doing, but still.

Lydon is a washed up hypocrite, and he can't take it. The Pistols only put out an album, and that's not even enough to put on a full concert, which you know he'd be doing if he thought he could cash in on it. How much do you think he's been paid for all the events the Sex Pistols and PILTD have been sporadically appearing at lately?

I remembered that it wasn't him that said something about Green Day in association with the clothing line, it was somebody else. But like I said, he's attacked them every chance he's gotten. And it's always about how 'Green Day came along and made a mockery of punk,' even though Green Day did somewhat of the same thing the Pistols did back in the day. He acts like Green Day were born into mainstream rock.

He is right about one thing though, the Arctic Monkeys are terrible.

Normally I don't really care if people criticize Green Day as its a matter of opinion and everyone is entitled to one. However this guy is probably the most irritating, overrated and just downright nasty man in the world of music. He is in no position to make such remarks about anyone. The Sex Pistols were put together by Malcom McLaren in the same kind of way that a lot of manufactured bands these days are put together. Their music was nothing special, they only made an impact because they were the first mainstream band to go on TV with spiked hair, scruffy clothes and use the F-Word. Lydon is only saying these things now because his own career is dead. He's having to resort to advertising butter on national TV and reforming PiL to make some money.

He needs to get rid of that chip on his shoulder, the guy has major diarrhea of the mouth.

Malcolm Mclaren is a prick. Nobody likes him. No offence to him, but it's true. The way he treated The Sex Pistols was wrong, and he wonders why people hate him so much. You guys probably hate John Lydon a lot, but the way you feel about him is the way I feel about Malcolm. Malcolm was (and still is) a fake, a cheat & a liar, and that's what I don't like. On the other hand, John Lydon actually comes out with the truth at times and some people can't handle the truth, especially from him. I know what he said about Green Day offended some people, but as I said before, Green Day have taken critizism very well for years now.

This isn't the first time you've insulted Green Day. You have a tendency to do that. And why? Because you think they have no substance, and are just ripping you off? Or because you think Billie Joe is fat?

No. You dislike Green Day because they did what your band couldn't. They've LASTED. Sure, some bands today really don't have any substance and just are exactly what you've described, but Green Day isn't one one of them... otherwise, they WOULDN'T have lasted.

You're just far too much of a bitter old man who feels the need to sell butter, and make appearances on Judge Judy to actually take the time to listen and see that. You have to settle for these pathetic and desperate attempts to remain relevant. They don't. They just have to do what they do best, and continue making music.
