can we just have an agreement not to fuck this one up with meaningless and emotionless video clips? i know im whining but its justifiable. Singing into a comb or looking into a camera mouthing lyrics is pretty much useless to the viewer and makes the video awkward -like the first one. yeah it was the first one, but i couldnt help but cringe at the lack of emotion and/or creativity-. Sven set the bar up by doing his montage thing, which made the rest of the video seem bleh -i dont remember anything else besides that, so clearly that stuck out and nothing else. also, i have a bad memory-. can we at least try to act out the whole song, fitting accordingly in a silly or a dead on adaptation? if this is going to be on the home page, then lets make this the best one yet!

homecoming is quite fitting for this i think. JOS is too dark for 'fun'

Katie puts a lot of time and effort into making all of the videos sent to her are synched to the music perfectly, so I honestly think that's where the creativity of the video lies. Perhaps a little more emotion could be put into it, but hey. I thought all of them were really good and had nothing bad to say about any of them. It shouldn't be about one-uping anyone, let everyone do their own thing and be happy about their contibutions.

that was just an example. his part clearly stood out than those who were standing there mouthing the words with no emotion. since its homecoming, there are several parts with different moods, which opens much more possibilities of acting scenes out. im just saying id rather have stories shown than someone standing in a room awkwardly.

for example, for the blood sex and booze part, myself and one other video involved the character being bound and gagged -and i believe the other one had them singing the lyrics while fitting the role-. there we go. thats way better than just talking into a camera

I see what you mean, most of the things are just lip synching....but I don't think it's boring and without emotion, not at all. Maybe occasionally there's someone who doesn't really show a lot of emotion, but the big chunk of the people do. And also think of the thing that only a fraction of the video everyone makes gets into the final video - so who knows, maybe in a lot of the videos there also was other stuff that did have 'creativity', as you put it, but that part just doesn't get in the final video. That exact reason is also kind of demotivating to do something big or anything....it's a fuckload of work and you don't even know if it will get into the video at all - if you're able to do it at all. Because I can't do much with video editing - I can put some scenes together, but that's really it.

I don't think anything is wrong with the collab videos. I mean, there's definitely room for improvement, but it isn't one big awful pile of shit, what your post makes it out to be.
