Dylan. Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I loved Warning the first time I heard it. The problem is, I tend to binge and then hate things later. So I listen to Green Day albums based on which albums I'm not sick of at the time. I believe Warning is scheduled to be liked again sometime in early April.
saraHsunshine Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Favorite album I feel like Nimrod is less cohesive in general but I could see what you mean about Warning being that way too. I feel like this may not be the 'last' non-concept album, who knows what they will do next!
Katarina. Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 The last non-rock opera the boys will ever produce. I disagree with this. You don't know what kind of music they'll make in the future. And Warning feels really cohesive to me. Oh, reading the post of Hermione, she exactly explained the 'themes' of the album as I wanted to do xD Anyway, I LOVE Warning. It's my third favorite album (With Nimrod begin #1 <3)
Princess Consuela Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I must admit that I tend to neglect Warning but once I finally listen to it, I absolutely love it. I think it's a very cohesive and outstanding album. For me it's always been a great mixture of humor, seriousness, a bit of grotesque and thoughts about marriage, consumerism etc. Not to mention, it has a sound that no other Green Day album has.
HoneyDo666 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I don't think it's disjointed...The songs fit together I feel. 3rd fav album after 21CB and AI!
Guest Shangri-La Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 most albums are just a bunch of songs that don't have a cohesiveness..
boosho Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I disagree about the no coheiveness thing, these songs definitely go together. They have a similar sound and similar message (not sure that the best way to discribe it).. Its my first equal favourite album (along with nimrod)... (man my english if fucked today :/ ) If you ask me to pick a fav song from the album i cant, i love them all, Jackass is awesome, Castaway, minority, misery, Church on sunday, warning, Sex blood & booze, macy day parade.. I think i have pretty much listed them all.. my least fav on the album would maybe be deadbeat holiday :/ i still like it but it goes to the bottom. I swear i thought this topic was gonna be a anti-green day rant I thought the same thing, when i read the title i was like the fuck is Burge and what is he/she doing hating on Warning. But I don't think we need a thread to discuss that. I actually disagree, we have threads that discuss specific songs, i like the idea of a threads to discuss the album as whole.
Smoothed Out Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I swear i thought this topic was gonna be a anti-green day rant me too, I was getting ready to kick some GD hater's arse I love warning, it's a record you can't just sing along to.There doesn't seem to be any other agenda or hidden message behind anything-a jumble of songs that go oh so perfectlt together
Comrade Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Warning is actually my favourite album to just listen to of all time. I like the vibe to it. It has a "what the fuck, lets just have fun" vibe. I dig that. But I think it's the most creative of Green Day's albums too.
minorty13 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 This album and Nimrod both flew under my radar for quite some time but now they're two of my favorites I love Macy's Day Parade. It's gonna be really weird/interesting to see how the band goes about making the new album. I can't see them doing another super flowing rock opera but that's all the Green Day I've really been around during the release of the albums.
Sarahnade. Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I'm not a big Warning fan. I love the album, but it's probably my least favorite.
Salmonator. Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Haha, yeah. It was one of the first GD albums I heard.
Heather! Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I remember when I bought Warning and listened to Misery on repeat for days... heh.
gabbag Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I love Warning and yea I kinda agree that they dont all fit together but they are all awesome! And it is my favorite album.
Tubbie Head Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Warning is that kind of albums that not everyone gets it at first... I only discovered the magnificence of it not so long ago (and maybe that's why it was like the GD's least successful album ) I enjoyed to hear some of the songs,I considered it as an ok GD album, no more than that.. (it used to be my least fav. album!) Then...One day as I was listening I really analylised it... And ta daa! .. I was speachless... like, How didn't I see this before? every song, every single line of the songs just suddenly got into me! And now I can consider it as one of my favorites! It's really amazing
bjrules Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I love this album, and I have to disagree with there being no cohesiveness in the album. All of the songs have a similar kind of sound to them, I don't know how to explain why I think its a cohesive album. Songs like Macy's Day Parade, Minority, Waiting, Warning, Misery, Church On Sunday and Blood Sex and Booze are pure masterpieces, and the others that I didn't list are fantastic as well. I see Nimrod as being a way less cohesive album than Warning.
Marki. Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Then...One day as I was listening I really analylised it... And ta daa! .. I was speachless... like, How didn't I see this before? every song, every single line of the songs just suddenly got into me! And now I can consider it as one of my favorites! It's really amazing Exactly I don't know why I didn't discover how great some GD songs are earlier I love Warning, I can listen to the whole album a million times and I never get tired of it Castaway, Fashion Victim, Church on sunday, Macy's day parade I see Nimrod as being a way less cohesive album than Warning. That's what I thought
Isabel Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I really do love Warning, (Jackass/Deadbeat Holiday/Fashion Victim are some of my all time favourite songs) but in comparison to the other albums, it'd be my least favourite.
Tiffx Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I lovvee Warning. Castaway, Waiting, Church On Sunday, Macy's Day Parade... what brilliant songs.
Nova-Caine Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Without Warning they would have never had the guts to go ahead with something like AI.
Guest Hayley Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Warning is a really underrated album I personally love it.
dirnt286 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 One of my favorite Green Day albums. I was so excited for it's release when I was 13.
jm_xd Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 warning is awesome. not my favourite, but aaaaawesomeee =)
