Well, I've been thinking the idea is to vote for the "best" song - which might not necessarily be my favorite song. This particular choice is quite difficult if I go by which is my favorite. But if I really analyze the songs, I think EJN is a much more musically complex, more deeply meaningful, and more developed song overall. Billie has come SO far in his songwriting ability. I had to vote for EJN.

However, I love both songs and couldn't possibly choose a favorite. Both were in the list of 40 that I finally reduced to 21 but was never able to reduce to ten for the initial round of song names .

I totally get what you mean. While songs from the early days aren't as technically good as the newer ones, they are enjoyable! I did think about that when I was voting, but I didn't have it in me to go against Pasalaqua

I dunno though, the way I see it deciding whether a song is "good" is so subjective you might as well just pick your favourites. There's so many different factors involved in deciding and everyone's gonna decide in a different way. If I like a song it's good, if I don't it's not!

yeah, exactly the same with me, I can never tell which is my favorite GD song, but for this I over analysed every song and made my top ten. Stll.. my list didn't count 'cause of the Hacker -.-

I know my list was mostly favourites, and I will probably vote for favourites too, but there are so many different aspects to songs being 'good'. I think the songs I like are good, otherwise I wouldn't like them xD Not saying the one I didn't vote for isn't good, or is less good, I just like the other one better. And for this one I just picked the one that came to mind to vote for first, they're quite hard to compare. I'm not gonna look too deep into things, that will only make the choice harder xD

Ugh, you're completely right, Hermione. The more I think about how to make my point, the less sensible it seems

But what I meant is, there might be songs that you love and they mean a lot to you, but there might be songs that are obviously better. Lyric-wise, music-wise and generally given more credit. Like lets say, I Was There comparing to Macy's Day Parade. I know it's all subjective, though.
