-Billiejoezee- Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 He was like "Hi, how are you?" And smiled at me, even though he probably thought "Psycho alert!" I sort of froze after that and couldn't really say anything else I was going to ask him to sign one of my Green Day books that I had with me, but he was with Joey so I decided no to; I didn't want to disturb him any more. And I probably terrified them enough with my presence I'd do that too. And if he said hi back,i'd faint. Just at the thought of bieng billie's attention for a few seconds makes me blush. hee hee....
Just Kate Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 A polite hi as if I already knew him. I wouldn't want to attract attention if people realised he actually was famous, and I wouldn't want to bother him on a rare day out. They act like fans don't bother them, but usually they do yeah, you're right. best thing to do is just short HI-THANKS-BYE
Hermione Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Gawd I feel awkward just thinking about it. I've always thought I wouldn't be able to think of anything to say, because I don't think I'd like to ask for an autograph but there's not many other legitimate reasons to just randomly go up to them. BUT seeing as I'm seeing them at Wembley that would give me something. Maybe I would walk up and say hello and tell them I'm looking forward to seeing them at Wembley and feel awkward
Comrade Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I'd probably wave. If they wave back I'll go up, shake their hand, say thank you for making amazing music that means to much to me and say good luck with whatever they do next, then leave them to it. I don't want to take up their personal time.
DoppelgangerLovesGravy Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I would ask Tré if he would sign my Japanese Fighter Fish, If Mike would sign my copy of Star Wars, and If Billie Joe would sign my King For a Day crown. And no, I don't own any of those. I'd probably ask really personal questions that would end up p!£$ing them off, but you know, I do that to everyone. And I'd be swetting. A lot.
newsflash777 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 This is one of those questions that I will never be able to answer. I would feel so terrible if he was trying to get some alone time, and I ruined it.
drumstick Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I'd try to be down to the earth and NOT CRY (yeah haha) but yeah, I know I would totally freak out and jump on him/them but I really hope that won't happen if I ever get a chance for that. I'd just want to say hi to them and few stuffs about how much they and their music changed me and my life...and yeah.. I hope I'll get the opportunity for that one day But I know it would be the most awkward moment of my life haha
Comedy & Tragedy Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 There really is no right way to go about it. Because if you don't do anything, you'll regret it for ever. If you do go up to them, chances are you'll be annoying them and they will probably be weirded out by you
mandajane Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 agree, there isnt a really a right way to do it. yes, i did kinda make an ass of myself but i got to meet one my fukn idols!!!!!!!!!! still one of the best days of my life and i will never forget it
Tre_Gina Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I would be polite and not too intrusive and ask for a photo with them and tell them how much they have influenced my life and that two of the best nights of my life have been in their company.
germackpaccone Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Lol, BJ probably has a Green Day shirt detector so he knows where not to go. lmaooo true.
Rosie May Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 agree, there isnt a really a right way to do it. yes, i did kinda make an ass of myself but i got to meet one my fukn idols!!!!!!!!!! still one of the best days of my life and i will never forget it Oh cool, (I was about to ask which one you met and then I noticed your signature, ha) How's you make an ass of yourself?
songbird. Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I think I would try to approach them calmly and just strike up a normal conversation, thank him for everything they've done, and ask for a picture. Then I would be on my merry way, screaming with joy on the inside. I don't think I'd be able to hide excitement too well. I was shaking the entire time when I was at the concert, just because they were right in front of me, and I was way in the back on the tier.
Bryn Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Honestly I would just sort of look probably smile, then just keep walking. I would not want to bother them.
ChelseaWhatsername Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 1. Hyperventilate 2. Mass hysteria 3. Search frantically for a paper bag 4. Become embarrassed and avoid whichever member(s) it was on the street. You know. That's just my luck, get a rare opportunity like that and fuck it all up :/
katieackles Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I'd like to just walk past, smile and say, "Hey, man, nice shirt." Or something totally random like that. Just like I would normally. Well, normally, if I liked someone's shirt.
midm Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I would definitely have to restrain a scream....and I admit that freely. But after I regained my composure, I'd try to be normal, but definitely ask them so much....and tell them how much their music has meant to me.
_cigarettes&valentines Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I'd do my best to stay calm and then probably fail, haah, but it's the effort that counts I guess. I wouldn't want to bug them too much so I'd probably just go and say thank you for everything they have done for me then maybe ask for a hug. That is assuming I'm able to form words, which is unlikely tbh.
Nobody_Likes_You Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I've had this with Billy Talent and Shane Told... I went to the guys and just talked for a minute or so and then let them go. They were super polite.. I think the guys in the Band appreciate the fans coming over to them and asking for photos and stuff, I mean, they have and had their idols, too and I think they would have done the same.
Tashidge Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Hmm... It's actually happened with other bands. I'd walk over, say hello, ask for an autograph, maybe a picture [though I'd probably wimp out of asking for a picture], tell them they're an awesome band then let them carry on living their lives.
amy_runs Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 GUH I always always always click on this thread like, "Ooooh, what would I do if what?" AND IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME THREAD I think it needs a subtitle
