Trotsky Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 From my assessment, half of the eliminators are obvious blowouts, the other half might go either way. And I also know that when it comes down to the divisional four votes, all hell is going to break loose.
Mar Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 JOS, no contest. It's epic, it's emotional, it's just amazing. It made me fall in love with Green Day. I was so blown away when I heard the song. Don't get me wrong, JAR is good too and it always makes me sad to hear, but JOS is still tops.

I was so blown away when I heard the song. Don't get me wrong, JAR is good too and it always makes me sad to hear, but JOS is still tops. You'd be surprised. A lot of the reasons you listed for it being great, are the reasons that some people hate Green day now.
AleKerplunk Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 80 didn't make it. 80 is not in the list? D: dammit but... Before the Lobotomy? please. I hope that 2,000 light years away is nominated :/
Trotsky Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Only 3?? Man, based on 1 page of reading the nominee page, I thought it was a "Favorite Song off 21st Century Breakdown" contest. Surprisingly, I think "Know Your Enemy" wouldn't have got into the top 32.
Dylan. Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Surprisingly, I think "Know Your Enemy" wouldn't have got into the top 32. I actually like that song...but things get old.
LetItBeHappy Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I think that when this is over, I'll create a group of "I WAS PART OF THE MINORITY THAT VOTED FOR J.A.R." and 80 is beautiful
Trotsky Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 I hope that 2,000 light years away is nominated :/ It is, I doubt it will make it against the song it's up against, and I'm going to sleep before I spoil more.
Mar Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 You'd be surprised. A lot of the reasons you listed for it being great, are the reasons that some people hate Green day now. Oh, you're absolutely right! But for me, it absolutely clicked.
Dylan. Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Oh, you're absolutely right! But for me, it absolutely clicked. Me too, but you and I are smart.
LetItBeHappy Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 It is, I doubt it will make it against the song it's up against, and I'm going to sleep before I spoil more. come on, John, we all know you want to tell us everything right now!
Joy of suburbia. Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 80 is beautiful THIS!! I fucking love that song. gosh...I really hope it was nominated.
Dylan. Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 come on, John, we all know you want to tell us everything right now! Nah, let John get his sleep. We all know he gets grumpy when he doesn't get enougth rem sleep.
LetItBeHappy Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 THIS!! I fucking love that song. gosh...I really hope it was nominated. John already said it didn't make it u.u
AleKerplunk Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 It is, I doubt it will make it against the song it's up against, and I'm going to sleep before I spoil more. oh damm... but i don't care, i'll vote for 2,000 LYA anyways
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Jesus of Suburbia... I could imagine this song as the winner^^
Trotsky Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Nah, let John get his sleep. We all know he gets grumpy when he doesn't get enougth rem sleep. REM sleep is quite vital and substandard sleep doesn't compensate. I was so sleep deprived during high school that I'd rapidly descend into REM sleep during the bus rides home and awaken suddenly from it and notice it when the bus went over a bump.
Joy of suburbia. Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 John already said it didn't make it u.u I know, I just read the post and was about to edit mine. damn...I fucking love that song! oh well, now I just hope that Before the Lobotomy made it through. that song is the shizz.
Trotsky Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Jesus of Suburbia... I could imagine this song as the winner^^ It has to contend with other obvious favorites like Good Riddance and Minority.

I was so sleep deprived during high school that I'd rapidly descend into REM sleep during the bus rides home and awaken suddenly from it and notice it when the bus went over a bump. So.....go to sleep then. Goddamn. Hahaha. It has to contend with other obvious favorites like Good Riddance and Minority. Good Riddance pwns. I'm voting for that through and through. By the way, you just gave away two others. (Obvious but still)
Angie-Marie Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Tough choice, but I went with Jesus of Suburbia.
Trina Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I just wasn't able to make a top ten list. I tried. I just couldn't. I will take part in alot of the polls though! It's lame that people are going to vote for rarer or older songs to appear "hardcore" or "cool" or "old-skool" or whatever. Vote for what you think is the best song. Had to go with JOS. Love both songs dearly and all but didn't have to think hard about this one.
