I have a feeling we are talking to Billie Joe Himself lol.

do you know any info on a new live dvd and/or cd

Just to add to this, I think The Static Age is the only song I'm surprised hasn't been a single. I think it's one of the few really radio-friendly songs on the album.

Maybe it will be in the future ?

I like this idea, though I can see this thread getting pretty mental soon

To try to answer all the questions I missed:

EUROPEAN SUMMER TOUR DATES

As far as I'm aware, the guys are in the final stages of date-setting so it shouldn't be too long before the full list of dates (finalised) is posted.

NO STADIUM SHOW IN ITALY

Mike has requested to the tour management that they play a stadium show in Italy, whether it happens or not is a different story. It's definitely on the table.

DRAMA QUEEN/TELL ME WHEN IT'S TIME AS B-SIDES

Billie Joe wrote these songs specifically to play live and has claimed there will be no studio recording of these songs. HOWEVER, Tell Me When It's Time To Say I Love You has been played in the studio quite a bit of late, so keep an ear out. They might very well be planning on releasing them.

SHOW IN MALTA

Unfortunately, I have nothing to do with touring or shows. I could mention it to the band but I have a strong feeling it won't go past that stage.

FANS DISAPPOINTED WITH CHOICE OF SONGS FOR SINGLES/VIDEOS

It's really great to hear some constructive feedback, I'll talk to Billie when I see him next. But then of course, Billie will have to talk to the producers and higher boys at Reprise and I'm not sure how much control he's going to have over decisions regarding singles etc.

!VIVA LA GLORIA! NOT PLAYED AT CONCERTS

In a pre-show meeting a while back, Billie suddenly scrapped !Viva La Gloria! from the setlist and told they band they weren't playing it. He has hardly ever, since then, allowed the song to be played live. He gets defensive when asked about it so I'm not too sure I'll be following this up, but at least I can give you some clarification.

Thanks guys!

I LOOOOVVEE The Static Age. Everyone I know who has heard the album says that the Static Age is probably one of the best 2 songs in the album

Sometimes to be truly punk you have to take things a step different than the other punks do, Green Day does that.

You guys are full of questions!

THE STATIC AGE AS A SINGLE

I can confirm that Billie is about ready to absolutely slaughter their management. He has been asking to release The Static Age as a single for about 2 months with no reply. In between asking, he's had other songs approved. He's not very happy about it. I'm not sure as to the reasoning behind the management's refusal to release the song, but that's where it stands at this point.

INFO ON LIVE CD/DVD

There is material. Once again, I can't confirm too much except that there has been a lot of tour filming done in the same sort of style as 'Bullet in a Bible', so we'll see what happens. At this point, nothing has been confirmed.

Have all the concerts been filmed ? I noticed that there were always signs up at the entrances saying that it was being filmed, but was that just for the video screen backdrop or were they actually recorded ?

Also thank you so much for answering our questions!

I absolutely love where the band is going, The next album I would like to have fast punk songs as well as a few quiet songs in between them, but before that I really, really would love maybe an ep with a song thats longer than Jesus of Suburbia. I think something like that would be really, really good.

Also another shenanigans would be really great too.

I will always love the band and their music has completely changed my life. They influenced me to play guitar and start writing my own songs.

No band will ever speak to my heart as much as Green Day does, There isnt a single day that passes that I havent listened to at least one album all the way through. Green Day give me something to live for when I feel like everything is lost, and they are always there for me even though they dont know it. And nothing I ever say will express how grateful I am for having this amazing band, and their amazing music in my life.

I finally got to see them when they came to sydney, even though I was in the seated area, the experience was far beyond anything I can describe. It all went so fast, and I would really really do anything just to be at the front and experience the band up close.

I just really really want to thank the band from the bottom of my heart for everything they have done, and everything they continue to do.

And thank you to you also, for coming on here and giving us all this amazing information and spending your time with us, you really are so fucking lucky to have your job and to spend your time with us is absolutely amazing.

Thank you so so much!

OMG, are you serious??

Aaaah, thanks so much for this information.

Hey, do you know anything about Green Day playing at the Heineken Jammin' festival in Venice?

Because it would suck A LOT if they really play there.

I LOVED American Idiot, 21stCB was great too. I still believe American Idiot is the greatest album made (thats my opinion, many people, well, majority would disagree). After two rock operas, Id like to see a more fun, punk rock based album again. Dookie's poppiness, meets Pinhead Gunpowder's raw punk sound. And of course, WE NEED MORE FOXBORO. And for them to come to Australia. And to finish their current tour in Australia like they did for American Idiot's :D

Oh and if you could pass a message on for Matt Davis in Australia, thank Billie for his lyrics. He inspired me to write my own and thank all the boys for inspiring me to play guitar and create my own music. American Idiot changed my life, I 110% believe that.

Thanks.

PS. Oh yeah, i dont know if Billie remembers, there was a kid in the Brisbane, Australia crowd on the 9th of December who passed him a Santa hat and later, a pair of black sunnies, which he threw away to other people. Tell him next time he does that, he owes me money :P (I'd love to hear his reaction to this!) I ended up getting them back, but had to break some girls poor heart :(

Firstly thanks for answering all our questions and all the info.. When i found out that Viva la gloria was played in Asia i was very excited because i thought it may be part of the setlist from now one for future shows.. So maybe hopefully it will..

Secondly, i know this is not going to happen but i guess no harm in asking, i would love to attend a small green day show here in australia. we feel soo far away and would love for a special small venue show where they would play the whole album here.. maybe next time they are in aussie they could..

Thank you for your answers, and say a big THANK YOU to Mike!

I was about to ask the same question as Lauren99. Italian fans would really like to have a stadium show, NO festival. Remember to tell that to the management. :) Green Day used to say they love Italy so much, so I hope to hear good news about an Italian stadium show..

You can also report back that we'd like to see more exclusive stuff posted in the Idiot Club, some backstage videos or Q&A, like they did in 2005.

Thankyou for your kind words Matt, I'll be glad to pass that on to Billie for you.

AMERICAN IDIOT SONGS ON *UNCONFIRMED* NEW LIVE CD/DVD

I believe all recordings of the shows were just of songs off 21st Century Breakdown. As Billie told me once, 'we've done American Idiot. We've done it. We gotta do something new, we gotta pull a new rabbit out of the hat'.

SHOW RECORDINGS

The signs you've been seeing at the concerts are to say the show is being filmed. It's being filmed for both reasons, a video backdrop and also material for an *unconfirmed* live CD/DVD of 21st Century Breakdown. Unlike Bullet in a Bible, where all the filming was done at Milton Keynes, the footage I've seen is from many different places and countries.

GREEN DAY PLAYING AT HEINEKEN JAMMIN FESTIVAL

The organisers of the Heineken Jammin Festival have asked Green Day to play, but Billie has given no word yet. They were talking about it on Thursday and I remember Billie saying that he wasn't sure, even after Mike and Tre were both all for it and said yes.

it would be much appreciated if you'd pass to the guys that italian Green Day fans do NOT approve them to play at that festival

thanks so much

To answer a couple more of your questions:

SMALL SHOW IN AUSTRALIA

Unfortunately, the band are usually given the locations etc for touring by the management. Needless to say, Green Day have some power and if they don't want to play somewhere or want to play somewhere, they won't or they will. I know all three can't wait to get back to Australia; but as far as what sort of show it would be I can't say.

FOXBORO HOT TUBS SHOWS

The boys are still in the hype of 21st Century Breakdown, and it was funny last week to see Tre ask to play some FBHT songs in the studio and Billie refused and said he needed to work on the songs from 21st Century Breakdown, telling Tre to 'shut up and get in Green Day mode. We're Green Day now. We can be Hot Tubs by night'. :)
