Liam Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 have you heard any thing about a new foxboro hot tubs album or them considering releasing mother mary and stop drop and roll videos now that they have been leaked
Guest Green Day Band Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 i was talking about the whole like them making it again for fun but that song would still be awesome if they released it cause they did play it at a soundcheckalso i hope you are legit cause all the info your giving us is awesome and making me think more you areConfirmed information is not my area, nor will I try to make it my area, but I'm more than happy to share the *available* rumour and information I'm exposed to.-GD

AleKerplunk Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 A lot of people are mentioning they want to see the next album from Green Day be something like 'Dookie'. What aspects of Dookie? The music? The ideas? Lyrics?Let us know!-GDI'd like a unique album, like the others. I like all songs are unique, and if the new album is like "Dookie" would be like "That's all? I know they can do better!" that-s no the idea D:
Guest Green Day Band Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 have you heard any thing about a new foxboro hot tubs album or them considering releasing mother mary and stop drop and roll videos now that they have been leakedUnfortunately, I work with Green Day and Reprise's Green Day management, and I don't know anything about Foxboro Hot Tubs. But, on a personal point, I'd love to see a new one. I suppose we're both just in the waiting for that.-GD
Bastard of 1967 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Mike's been doing a lot of very strong bass lines since the release of 21st Century Breakdown. They haven't been recorded yet, nor as far as I'm aware played with any other songs yet. But I can definitely say he's got some very new and extreme bass lines coming.-GDSweet! Thanks for jumping in here BTW....crossing fingers that this thread doesn't crash the forum's brand-new server.
Lyz Z Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 me! I actually have Tré's joint song for my texts and Mike's laugh as alarm (and R2D2 for calls)Hahahah I want your phone
Emmalee Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Something I love about Green Day is each album is so different than from the others, theyre all so unique and meaningful in different ways. Like American Idiot was so different than older stuff, and 21st Century was so different too and what i say is Green Day keep doing what your doing, keep making different albums, keep surprising us with new music and whatever they do its always mind blowing.I agree with this completely, you pretty much summed up my thoughts way better than I could express them.
amy_runs Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It would be very very very cool to see an acoustic album!
Liam Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It would be very very very cool to see an acoustic album!seconded. or at do a concert with just acoustic songs and release that on dvd and cd like what foo fighters did
LetItBeHappy Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Hahahah I want your phoneit sucks, the only good think is that noone thinks it's mine, because it has pink flowers back on topic, it would be great if they make a Shenanigans 2.0, so we can finally listen to all those "lost" records in decent quality, like drama queen or when it's time, amongst all the others that we don't know about
Bastard of 1967 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It would be very very very cool to see an acoustic album!....ESPECIALLY after all the awesome acoustic encores they did on this tour. Well, maybe not a whole album acoustic-only (what's Tre going to do, twiddle his thumbs or worse?) but a few of the best acoustics they did on tour such as Drama Queen, Christie Road.....

I don't know if this means it's a possible release, but it has been played a fair few times while just in the studio.-GD
dolce Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Oh, and just a comment on something I'm pretty sure we all like - the twittering. It was a fantastic idea for the guys to start giving us some updates themselves, and I know I always get really excited to see when one of their "tweets". In regard to going back to their "older" sound - you know, I really like what they're doing right now! If they made music just like Dookie for 20 years, that would just be boring. I like that their sound keeps evolving, but at the heart of the music, you know it's still Green Day. I wouldn't be opposed to them mixing in some Dookie or Kerplunk type songs into a new album at all, but at the same time, I do hope they continue to grow as musicians and push themselves to keep moving forward like they've always done.
Joy of suburbia. Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It would be very very very cool to see an acoustic album!I second that. That shit would be awesome.can you imagine hearing 80, 2000 Light Years Away, Christie Road, and Whatsernamebeing played acoustlally? Or do a half albumone part of the lost songsand the other half just straight acoustic.I'm just going apeshit just thinking about it.

GreenDaymaniac2000 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Green Day mean so much to me. They have an album for every mood I'm in and I feel like when I listen to their music its stuff I can relate to. They have remained relevent to young people which is a huge thing and I love the variations in Green Day fans. I went to the 2nd Auckalnd show in Decemeber and I can honestly say it was the best night of my life. Their show completly exceeded any of my wildest dreams and I felt connected to the band as I stood on the barrior. It felt like we as fans really do mean alot to them. The only thing that upset me was the lack of publicity, interviews and general hype about them coming to New Zealand. I don't know if you have anything to do with this but it was disappointing that we got nothing.
Liam Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 acoustics can have drums... but I can't imagine Tré being calm during a whole album yea knowing him he would pick up a guitar and start playing one of his stupid songs or just run around every where

I don't know if you have anything to do with this but it was disappointing that we got nothing.Yes, there was a lot of 'comment' (for lack of a ruder word) about the New Zealand shows. The guys weren't actually given New Zealand at all in the first copy for the tour. Billie said to the management that he was doing the show in New Zealand and basically didn't care how, he just told the management to 'get your asses together' and put together a show in New Zealand.Because it was a very short-notice change to the tour, New Zealand didn't get as caught up in the hype and there was definitely a lack of interviews and publicity while they were there. Please just keep in mind it was Billie Joe who insisted a show in New Zealand! -GD
Rae'n'shine Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I love that Green Day are pulling into a direction that reminds me more of The Who, The Beatles, and other great classic bands. I love that they are always progressing as a band and aren't sticking with one sound. I really can't wait to see what they come out with next. After 8 amazing albums, I see no way they could disappoint me.

But an acoustic album would be cool.I really like Green Day when they play the music they want to play, and totally believe in it and are proud of it. I think the next album should be a total surprise.
Guest Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 i agree with LetItBeHappy,Green Day SHOULD release another one like shenanigansi mean ALOT of people Really want to hear Studio version of Drama Queen, Cigs and Vals, and all those b-sides and "lost" songs
dolce Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 The only thing that upset me was the lack of publicity, interviews and general hype about them coming to New Zealand. I don't know if you have anything to do with this but it was disappointing that we got nothing.I'm glad you mentioned this. I know a lot of us a few days ago were discussing our concerns about Green Day's lack of publicity in general for the new album and how it was kind of upsetting. I know there are a LOT of people that are casual Green Day listeners that still don't know they released an album in 2009. This certainly isn't the bands doing, but rather their management. It's just a shame because 21st Century Breakdown is such a work of art, and I feel like it didn't get the credit it deserves because it wasn't publicized well. There wasn't much advertising for it at all, and for whatever reason, their new music videos are rarely played (but of course in the age where MTV airs Jersey Shore more than music television, maybe this isn't so strange). My personal feeling on the lack of publicity is - I want the album and the guys to get the credit they deserve. That said, this album's release has felt really intimate for the fans. It's not like American Idiot where the whole world knew about the album and treated it like just another "hit". It was an under-hyped release, but it allowed the fans to enjoy it quietly and discuss it amongst ourselves instead of having people who know nothing about the band giving commentaries on what they're doing wrong/right. I guess to sum it up - I know the album isn't getting the credit it deserves due to lack of publicity, and as someone who loves the band, that's unsettling. After creating such a fantastic album, the band DESERVES that recognition. At the same time - we have really enjoyed the "quiet time" and lack of "hype". It made it a much more personal and intimate for the fans.

That's incredible, and that knowledge has seriously made my night ....and they still managed to sell out 2 shows here, without so much hype and publicity
