A 'PRETTY SERIOUS' ALBUM

Billie has definitely been pressing the other guys about writing more serious, even deeper music. Mike is comfortable with it, but Tre seems a bit 'not yet' about it. They've been heard in the studio playing unheard stuff that does sound a lot slower, darker and probably more serious. I give it just over 2 years until a new album. That's my personal opinion.

I love the new direction they are taking, as much as I LOOOOVE their oldies, it's obvious that I don't want them to start doing the same thing again!! They have always been honest with theirselves =)

They have this collection of musical eras that are very distint from each other, and I just love that!

To answer comments about my legitimacy, I'm surrounded by comments about this everytime I'm online. Basically, I'm not here to prove a point, I'm here to learn about what you guys like about Green Day. I know this thread has turned more into a question thread, but at the end of the day I'm not here to talk or prove myself, I'm just here to find out what you guys are liking or not liking so I can relay it to the band and their management.

I won't get into arguments or try to prove myself. If you believe I'm not being genuine, then simply don't ask me questions or reply to my questions. I'm NOT Green Day, and I don't just 'hang out' with them, I just work with them and Reprise as an online media representative.

Thankyou to the people that realise I'm not talking myself up or trying to prove myself and that I'm just basically a messenger between the band and the fans.

I think that's the next stage of Green Day but I can understand why Tré would seem a little hesitant. It is a big step to take. Though that have been leaning toward it already, what with songs like Restless Heart Syndrome and Horseshoes and Handgrenades. Unless he thinks that the band's going to lose fans if they take a darker direction. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'll always be a huge Green Day fan, the band's done so much for me, which makes me immensely loyal to them. No matter what they do, I'll always be a fan of theirs, even if they did do a hip hop album and started dressing like Eminem and 50 Cent talking about taking hos to the club.

At least now we know the world can't end in 2012, Green Day might have an album out then.

I was looking at the Pinhead topic at the same minute you started writing and - from what people said/tweeted - they were already on stage playing the first songs. If you wanted people to believe you, you should have said you had spoken with Billie AFTER the show.

I honestly don't believe they let you work on the night, now in Oakland it's 4.42 AM, but maybe you don't even live in California..

I like that the band dare to do different things, not follow the crowd. With the rock opera thing as a good example. I love all their albums, rock opera or not. But it's all good that they try new things, developing, not staying in the same old place. Even though their old stuff are absolutely amazing.

I know for a fact that the band's management wants them to start doing shows dedicated to specific albums, and Billie has been all for it, however he said it won't be happening 'until near the end'. So it may be a bit of a wait.
